Deagan 608 Posted February 25, 2015 Share Posted February 25, 2015 I'm still shocked that the general public considers this a "reinvention"! It's NOT a reinvention of her persona. Musical theatre has always been a main, if not the main, basic of her music. Â VMA Paparazzi opening was pretty operatic. VMA Applause opening was a whole musical threatre opening and all of the performances were so wizard of oz. The fame ball and all of its Andy Warhol interludes, the formation of the "haus". The monster ball was one big musical with all the abstract storylines. The born this way ball even more so with the whole fantasy castle, alien scenery. Â As for her vocals I already knew she could do the operatic falsetto musical voices. "Government Hooker", "Americano", "Bloody Mary". Most of her songs sound like they could be out of a musical anyway. It's just that nobody has ever seen her do a whole fairytale musical song and pull it off so brilliantly.
