sipthistea 21,099
It's considered a "flop" for her standards, which are very high. Her peak was immense, getting to sell 15M with The Fame. But in reality, the album is far from a real flop. It's sold over 3M copies WW. Flop albums don't reach the million mark. I know it's a nonsense, but what do you expect from someone who works at idolator?

gabeoz 7,899
It's ironic isn't it. Despite ARTPOP going on to debut at #1, sell millions, and be one of the best selling albums on 2013 it was considered a "flop", but now the pop girls are quickly falling there isn't a peep from these people and have to make up fake numbers for faves to stay relevant. Joanne has sold a bit less than ARTPOP yet it's considered a considerable success.

ARTPOP did fine for its moment.

Both of them performed decently in their sales climates, it's just one is conceived far worse because of the general opinion of Lady Gaga at the time. And yet it is considered a flop.

He's probably a neo-nazi and part of the alt-right like the last one. They never learn. @media, stop hiring gays like these. That writer at Idolator is a Katy Perry stan. I remember them writing a completely unnecessary Katy vs Gaga article back when CTTR debuted, comparing their pink suits, and asking why would Katy want to copy Gaga when she is a flop or whatever. Funny how that ended.

RAMROD 96,460
Let's be real, it will not be forgotten. The same way many people never forget Bionic, Glitter, and 2007 Britney meltdown, and plenty more. It is part of history now, not a good piece for sure, but still part of history. So we better be making peace with it rather than trying to defense it, you'll only tire yourself.
