Mark Ronson says Lady Gaga's upcoming album is "pretty deep." The hitmaker, who worked on most songs on Gaga's new record and is likely its executive producer, raved about collaborating with the superstar in a new interview with Buro 24/7's Tracy Phillips.

"I went in on the first day with very open expectations," Mark recalled. "I didn't know if we would work together for two weeks or six months. I knew she was very talented, I'd seen her perform and knew how seriously she takes music. She's really a muso at heart, and is happiest when she's sitting behind the piano yelling out chord changes to the drummer or whatever. But we started working and it kind of exceeded any expectations of what I thought the music was going to be like."

He continued: "It's been one of my favourite records to work on and some of the people who have come in to play on it are my favourite musicians, writers and some of her favourites. I think it's just really good music and probably a record for people who might not have realised that her music had something for them — at least based on the small amount of people who've heard it so far. It's definitely pretty deep musically for sure."

Earlier this week, Lady Gaga announced that the lead single from the yet-untitled album is called "Perfect Illusion" and will be released in September. The track was co-produced by Gaga, Ronson, Bloodpop, and Kevin Parker.

Lady Gaga has a very personal song on her upcoming album. Not only did Gaga shock Little Monsters when she announced that her new single "Perfect Illusion" is coming next month, she also performed a couple of tracks from her new album at a private event for iHeartRadio. And, according to radio host Elvis Duran, one of the songs Gaga played is about something that is very special to the Germanotta family.

"Gaga did a couple of her new singles which I hear are just incredible," Elvis recalled. "She also did a song about someone very close to their family. I believe it's her father's sister passing away, and her father was in the audience when she did the song. He'd never heard her perform it. She was so real and fantastic when she sang that song. And I'm assuming knowing that her dad was right there in the room with her hearing it for the first time, it really, really brought out an award-winning performance. The whole room was in tears."

Fans have raised speculation that the track could actually be "Paradise," an unreleased song written for Gaga's jazz album with Tony Bennett. Mother Monster briefly talked about the tune in an exclusive interview with Gaga Daily back in 2014, saying: "It's inspired by my father's sister and him, and the phrases as they are traded, are meant to be their words to each other right before she died."

Lady Gaga's brand new single "Perfect Illusion" is a dance floor anthem about a troubled relationship, iHeartRadio reports exclusively. Mother Monster gave the radio station the first listen to her upcoming single and explained the inspiration behind the track during her appearance at iHeartRadio HQ in New York City on Wednesday.

"The song is about modern ecstasy. We found our sweet, simple, ragey way of saying it," Gaga said of the anthem she co-produced with Mark Ronson and Tame Impala's Kevin Parker. "I get this sick adrenaline rush every time I hear it."

iHeart also took to their Twitter account to answer fans' questions about the new track and if their words are anything to go by, we're about to hear one of Gaga's best songs ever. "We were humming it all day," the station tweeted. "We only got to hear it once, but it was really, really good. Probably new favourite lead single, but we still love all of those too."

"I don't think there's a comparison that would make sense," a writer for iHeart Radio added when asked if "Perfect Illusion" reminded them of any other Gaga song. "It's in its own lane, but still feels right at home."

It's a pop music emergency! Lady Gaga surprised her Little Monsters on Wednesday morning by announcing that her new song, called "Perfect Illusion," is coming in September. Lady Gaga has been confirmed to star in a remake of the 1937 film A Star Is Born, Deadline reports exclusively. Not only will this be Gaga's first studio starring role, she will also compose and perform new music for the movie, directed by Bradley Cooper. Production is set to begin early next year in California.

Warner Bros. has been working on the project for over five years. Clint Eastwood was originally set to direct the movie with singer Beyoncé headlinging it, but they both dropped out of the project. Due to that, the project was stalled until Cooper picked it up. Rumors that Gaga would be replacing Beyoncé as the female lead surfaced earlier this year when the singer was caught by paparazzi on a motorcycle ride to a restaurant with Bradley.

If you're a Little Monster, you already know that Lady Gaga and her family are very Italian – her father Joe Germanotta even owns an Italian-American restaurant in the heart of New York City. The family-run place has been recognized worldwide, and now you can have a taste of "Joanne Trattoria" in your own home!

A collection of recipes and anecdotes called "Joanne Trattoria Cookbook" is set for release on November 22nd and features a foreword from Gaga herself. 

"Family, food, and love are the foundation upon which Joe Germanotta and his wife, Cynthia, raised their daughters, Natali and Stefani," the description reads. "Named for his sister who died of Lupus three months shy of ther 20th birthday, their family-run restaurant is built on those same fundamental principals. A demo version for Lady Gaga and Azealia Banks' collaboration "Red Flame" has leaked online. The track was originally recorded for Gaga's 2013 album ARTPOP, but did not make the final cut. Although there was no official word on why the collaboration was left unreleased, Gaga told fans that the controversial rapper, known for her inflammatory statements and Twitter feuds, had "a bad attitude."

Lady Gaga performed for her pal Tony Bennett at his 90th Birthday Celebration at NYC's Rainbow Room on Wednesday night. Looking glamorous in a custom Brandon Maxwell gown, Gaga took the stage to perform some of her favorite jazz standards such as "La Vie En Rose" and "Bang Bang," as well as an acoustic version of her hit "Bad Romance." Tony Bennett turns 90! The jazz legend was joined by his pal Lady Gaga at the Empire State Building at a ceremony honoring Tony's legacy in music. Dressed in a gorgeous Carolina Herrera gown, Gaga flipped the switch to light up the iconic building in the colors of red, white, and green to celebrate Bennett's Italian roots.

"I am so honored to be by Tony's side on his 90th birthday," Gaga said. "Today we lit up the Empire State Building together, in the colors of the Italian Flag to commemorate Bennett's legacy as the greatest living legend and example of the Italian American Dream. We love you, Ton! Happy Birthday! 90 is the new 20!"

Little Monsters and jazz lovers will have to wait a little bit longer for Cheek 3 Cheek.

Although Tony Bennett announced that the follow-up to his 2014 album with Lady Gaga would be released this year, fans speculated that the record might be pushed back to let Gaga focus on her solo project, as well as her role on the new season of American Horror Story.

Today, the jazz legend, who is celebrating his 90th birthday, confirmed the rumors, telling Billboard: "She's busy right now, but at the beginning of next year we'll start doing an album. There'll be just wonderful songs that she and I both like. The first one went way over a million, and it's still selling."

Cheek To Cheek has indeed been a massive success for the duo, selling over one million copies, spawning a sold-out world tour, and earning a Grammy award and an Emmy nomination. And while they are unlikely to start working on the next album until 2017, Tony and Gaga are still frequently seen together both on and off stage. This morning, Mother Monster was spotted heading to Mr. Bennett's apartment with flowers in her hand, and later posted a Snapchat video with the birthday boy. In December, the two will share the stage during a two-hour special on NBC.

Mark Ronson says Lady Gaga's new album is "incredible." The musician, who is producing the upcoming record, spoke about the project during Zane Lowe's  Apple Music Beats 1 show earlier today and revealed that it's some of his favorite music that he'd ever worked on. 

"We've been working on this record for a while," Ronson said. "I can't really get into it too much. I'm not trying to be coy, but I feel like it's not my place. When the time's right to tell the story, I feel like she should tell. But it's some of my favorite music I've really ever worked on. It's incredible, I love it."

He continued: "It's very rare you're working on something and you go to bed at 3 in the morning and you wake up at 8 and you just cannot wait to get back to the studio to work on that thing you were working on. I can't wait until you can hear it because the music speaks for itself."

"Some of my favourite musicians of all time are working on it," Mark added.

Lady Gaga will honor her friend and collaborator Tony Bennett at a concert celebrating the jazz legend's 90th birthday. The two-hour show will air on December 20th on NBC, the network announced Tuesday. Other performers include Aretha Franklin, Andrea Bocelli, Billy Joel, Elton John, Michael Bublé, Diana Krall, Rufus Wainwright, k.d. lang, and Stevie Wonder.

Gaga and Bennett first collaborated in 2011 on his Grammy-winning album Duets II, on which Gaga sang "The Lady Is A Tramp." Three years later, the two released on Cheek to Cheek, a collection of jazz standards from the The Great American Songbook. The album has been a massive success for the duo, reaching top ten in over 20 countries and receiving glorious reviews from jazz critics. When the album debuted atop the Billboard 200, Gaga became the first female artist of the decade to have three number-one albums, while Tony extended his record as the oldest person to reach the top spot on the chart. The album also earned Lady Gaga her sixth Grammy, making her the only musician in history to win the award for both dance and jazz music.

In June, Bennett announced that a follow-up to Cheek to Cheek would be out later this year, however, we're hearing that the project has been pushed back to let Gaga focus on her upcoming solo album.

Lady Gaga was spotted arriving at a New York City recording studio decked out in a sexy denim outfit, and holding an acoustic guitar and a leather American-flag jacket. The singer-songwriter is currently busy putting the finishing touches on her long-awaited new album, due out later this year. Fans expect the first single from the record to drop in August, just in time for this year's VMAs.

Lady Gaga hit the stage at an invite-only show for Democratic National Convention delegates in Camden, NJ on Thursday afternoon. Lady Gaga and Lenny Kravitz are set to headline a concert in Camden, NJ on Thursday, July 28th, as part of the 2016 Democratic National Convention. The event, titled Camden Rising, is set occur just before Secretary Hillary Clinton accepts the Democratic nomination for the presidential election in nearby Philadelphia.

"With the Philadelphia skyline in the background, it is a perfect time to shine a light on Camden’s history and promise," said George Norcross, a member of the Democratic National Committee who is co-hosting the event. "We are happy to be able to invite the staff and volunteers of the Democratic Convention to what we expect to be on of the largest, most exciting events of the convention. The concert will not only be an excellent opportunity for everyone who has helped make the convention a success to relax and celebrate, but it will be a great chance to show the country Camden's amazing turnaround."

The concert is being produced by Live Nation and will take place at the BB&T Pavilion. No word yet on what songs Gaga will be performing.

Lady Gaga took to her Twitter account on Wednesday to show solidarity with the Black Lives Matter movement in the wake of recent police shootings. "I pray for the black community who suffer fear of prejudice, violence and injustice. We need lawfulness, fairness, unity," Gaga tweeted along with the hashtag #BlackLivesMatter.

While Lady Gaga has been outspoken about many social issues, such as LGBT rights, immigration, and teenage bullying, this is the first time she's publicly supported the controversial movement. Her tweet was met with approval by most fans, with one writing: "Thank you, Gaga, for being an ally and using your platform for good," while another added simply: "This means so much to me."

Update: Lady Gaga took to her Instagram page on Tuesday evening to comment on the reports that her and Taylor have split. "Taylor and I have always believed we are soulmates," she told fans. "Just like all couples we have ups and downs, and we have been taking a break. We are both ambitious artists, hoping to work through long-distance and complicated schedules to continue the simple love we have always shared. Please root us on. We're just like everybody else and we really love each other."

Earlier: Oh no! Lady Gaga and Taylor Kinney have ended their engagement and five-year relationship. The 30-year-old singer-songwriter and 35-year-old actor parted ways earlier this month, multiple sources report. 

Fans have noticed that Gaga hasn't been wearing her engagement ring for weeks and was absent from Taylor's birthday party in Lancaster last week.

"Regardless if it was mutual, or foul play is to blame I really hope they both do okay on this tough time. They both are talented, kind, thoughtful people and they may have just not meant to be together," a fan wrote on the Gaga Daily forums, while another added: "I hope Gaga channels all her negative energy into her music."

Taylor and Gaga met on the set of her "Yoü and I" music video back in 2011 and became engaged in early 2015. "He's the first man that I have dated that, when I sing onstage, he cries," Gaga said of their relationship just months before Taylor proposed. "That means more to me than anything. He's supportive of everything I do. He loves me from the inside out, and he is completely blind to the way that I dress, my creative process as it is."

Lady Gaga, who is currently enjoying a holiday with her friends in Mexico, took some time to stop by a children's foster home where she sang a beautiful acoustic rendition of her 2011 hit song "Born This Way." "She really never takes a break from using her position in life to spread compassion, it's very admirable," one fan wrote on the Gaga Daily forums, while another added, "It is really wonderful that she would take the time during her vacation to do this. You can't take a break from compassion. "

The nominations for this year's Emmy are out and Lady Gaga's latest single "Til It Happens to You" is up for the "Outstanding Original Music and Lyrics" award! The track, penned in collaboration with the veteran songwriter Diane Warren, was written for the documentary The Hunting Ground, which aired on CNN last year.

"Til It Happens To You" becomes the first song in history to earn an Emmy, Grammy and Oscar nominations in the same year. Unfortunately, despite co-writing and producing the track, Lady Gaga was not credited by the Television Academy and will not receive the award if the song wins.

Producer RedOne says he's unsure whether the songs he recorded with Lady Gaga for her upcoming studio album will make the final cut. "It's up to her: It's her album, it's her creative process, it's her world, and I'll be happy for her whatever way she takes it," the producer-songwriter told People magazine. "All I know is that we did eight great songs so far, and I think we have incredible songs. She's my sister. I want her to succeed, and I love her. She's just such an amazing artist."

Although he wouldn't reveal any specifics, the 44-year old musician, real name Nadir Khayat, says the new music is true to the sound from Gaga's previous records. "It's a mixture of classic music and futuristic, too – I didn't want to go too far from what she is," he said. "We kept it [similar to] what Gaga is, what she's done all these years. It's special."

RedOne is the man behind some of Lady Gaga's best-selling hits, including "Just Dance," "Poker Face," "Bad Romance," and "Alejandro." Aside from the singles, he's also produced such gems as "Scheiße," "Monster," and "Hair." Gaga's 2013 album ARTPOP was her first not to feature any tracks produced by RedOne, however, he did co-write the fan favorite "Gypsy."

Lady Gaga joined His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama of Tibet to address the nation's mayors at The U.S. Conference of Mayors 84th Annual Meeting in Indianapolis on Sunday. During the onstage conversation, moderated by journalist Ann Curry, they spoke about the importance of compassion and ways to make the world a kinder place.

"The really fantastic thing about kindness is that it's free," Gaga said. "It's the best resource that we have because you can give and receive kindness and the well of it inside of you will never dry up. And it can’t hurt you or anyone else. It's the thing that brings us all together.

She continued: "I feel the most important the reason to focus on kindness with what we're experiencing in the world is to consider the United States as a human body, and the brain is the government. And all the organs south of the neck: this is the people. These different organs in our body, these are the different factions, the things that separate us as people.

"What we're experiencing right now is that the mind of the United States and the body are not talking. There’s no connection. In science, what it tells us is that this connection between the brain and the rest of the body, when it erodes, you have system failure. Brain damage. This is what we're witnessing. Because the mind of the United States and the body of the United States are not connected we have disharmony. And kindness is the cheapest way to cure that, and it has a priceless aftermath."
