Lady Gaga's latest hit single "Shallow" with Bradley Cooper soars into the top five of the Billboard Hot 100, rising 28-5. The song, which appears on the soundtrack for A Star Is Born, becomes Gaga's eleventh top five hit in the United States. "Shallow" is the Hot 100's top digital sales gainer, reigning atop Digital Song Sales for a second week (71,000, up 21 percent). The duet enters Streaming Songs at No. 34 (13.4 million, up 61 percent) and sports 5.1 million in all-format radio audience (up 176 percent).

But "Shallow" is not the only track from the movie charting on the Hot 100 this week. The film's final song, the power ballad "I'll Never Love Again," makes a top forty debut at No. 36, while "Always Remember Us This Way" and "Is That Alright" enter the chart at Nos. 41 and 63 respectively. Plus, Bradley Cooper earns his first solo hit with "Maybe It's Time," which lands at No. 93.

Even more impressive are Lady Gaga's placements on the Hot Digital Song Sales chart: her songs occupy the entire Top 4, making her the first artist to achieve this. "Shallow" spends a second week atop the chart with 71,000 digital downloads, while "I'll Never Love Again," "Always Remember Us This Way," and "Is That Alright?" debut at Nos. 2, 3, and 4 respectively.

Lady Gaga's latest album A Star Is Born with Bradley Cooper makes a smashing debut on the Billboard 200, scoring the singer's fifth consecutive album on the chart. The soundtrack sold 231,000 units in the United States in its first week, exceeding the industry's original projections by over 80% percent. That also bests Gaga's previous effort, Joanne, which opened at No. 1 with 201,000 units in 2016.

A Star Is Born becomes Gaga's fifth number one album following Born This Way (2011), ARTPOP (2013), Cheek to Cheek (2014), and Joanne (2016), which breaks her tie with Taylor Swift and makes her the only female artist to top the Billboard 200 five times this decade.

Over on the Billboard Hot 100, Gaga and Cooper's "Shallow" is expected to enter the Top 10, while several other tracks from the soundtrack album make a debut. Check back later this weekend for more details on the singles chart.

Congratulations to Lady Gaga who has scored her fourth number one album in the UK! Her soundtrack album for A Star Is Born with Bradley Cooper beat out American band Twenty One Pilots in a tight race to No. 1 on the UK Albums album chart on Friday. With just 2,000 sales behind, the band settles for the number two spot with Trench.

On the singles chart, Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper's "Shallow" jumps seven spots to No. 6, becoming Gaga's 12th (and Cooper's first!) top ten single in the UK. Two more ballads from the film also made a debut on the chart: "I'll Never Love Again" at No. 35 and "Always Remember Us This Way" at No. 39.

Plus, A Star Is Born makes a splash in Ireland as both the soundtrack album and "Shallow" top the albums and singles charts respectively.

Lady Gaga is receiving universal praise for her performance in A Star Is Born from fans and critics alike, and now it looks like Disney might be eyeing her for another major role in the live-action remake of The Little Mermaid.

According to a report from The Disinsider, Gaga is high on Disney's wish list for a part in the film, most likely in the role of the notorious villain Ursula, who steals Ariel's voice as part of her plan to rule the ocean. 

The news comes just days after the premiere of Gaga big screen debut A Star Is Born, which opened with a massive $43 million and is enjoying overwhelmingly positive responses from fans, critics and celebrities, including Disney CEO Bob Iger. "Congrats to Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga on a fine performance in a wonderful film," he tweeted. "Classic story, great new music. Loved it!"

"As soon as I saw Bob Iger's tweet about A Star Is Born, considering Disney's upcoming slate, I could see that he is likely thinking of Lady Gaga for Ursula," film critic Grace Randolph of Beyond the Trailer told Gaga Daily. "I think Gaga is ready for the scrutiny that a Disney live action adaptation entails. I also feel with her strong ties to the LGBT and drag community, she'd be an excellent compromise for the role of Ursula. And while I understand many had hoped to see a drag queen cast in the role, I'm sure The Little Mermaid will have important representation in other ways, from potentially an Ariel of color to perhaps another LGBT character."

Rob Marshall (Chicago) is attached to direct the film, and Zendaya is rumored to be in talks to play Ariel, but no official announcements have been made.

Earlier this month, Gaga revealed that she's reading "piles of scripts" from film studios.

When I watched the film for the first time I said, "Oh my gosh, I thought she was really sad at the end of the movie, but I didn't realize how sad she really was at the beginning." She's really kind of a depressed girl. She works as a catering girl. She has her friend Ramon, who is very important to her. She takes care of her dad at home and takes care of all the drivers who come and have breakfast in the morning. But she’s truly given up on herself as a musician.

On her vocal teacher she met when she was 14:
I remember we were talking one day—we used to talk a little bit during our lessons, because we liked each other so much—and I said, "I just don't know how I'm gonna make it." I was taking meetings with entertainment attorneys and knocking on people’s doors, trying to get them to listen to demos that I made on a four-track Tascam cassette player, and he said to me, "There can be a hundred people in the room, and 99 of them won’t believe in you, but all you need is one."

On how fame affects relationships:
Success tests relationships. It tests families. It tests your dynamic with your friends. There is a price to stardom. I can't make music or act without using and accessing the pain that I have in my heart. I mean, what better place to put it? Otherwise, it's of no good use.

Lady Gaga will co-chair the 2019 Met Gala with Gucci director Alessandro Michele, singer Harry Styles, tennis player Serena Williams, and Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour, the Metropolitan Museum of Art announced on Tuesday. The theme for the star-studded event is "Camp: Notes on Fashion," a play on Susan Sontag's 1964 essay "Notes on 'Camp,'" that brought the concept of "camp" into the mainstream.

Camp "has become increasingly more mainstream in its pluralities—political camp, queer camp, Pop camp, the conflation of high and low, the idea that there is no such thing as originality," Andrew Bolton, Wendy Yu Curator in Charge of the Costume Institute, told Vogue.

The 2019 Met Gala is set to take place on Monday, May 7 at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City.

Ahead of of World Mental Health Day, which takes place on October 10, Lady Gaga teamed up with the World Health Organization for an op-ed in The Guardian about the lack of reliable mental health support services around the world and the need to stop stigmatizing treatable conditions.

"Suicide is the most extreme and visible symptom of the larger mental health emergency we are so far failing to adequately address," Gaga and director general of the WHO, Tedros Adhanom, write in the essay, entitled "800,000 People Kill Themselves Every Year. What Can We Do?"

 In June, not long after the deaths of Kate Spade and Anthony Bourdain, Lady Gaga opened up about some of her own mental health struggle, appearing alongside her mother at the Children Mending Hearts' Empathy Rocks fundraiser.

"I can't remain silent any longer. The passing of Kate Spade and Anthony Bourdain has made me want to speak up about my mental illness," she said at the time. "I have been experiencing suicidal ideation and cyclical obsessive suicidal thoughts for the past four years."

She continued: "I have struggled for a long time, both being public and not public about my mental health issues or my mental illness. But, I truly believe that secrets keep you sick."

World Mental Health Day is observed on October 10 every year to raise awareness on mental health issues around the world. This year, the theme is "Young people and mental health in a changing world," a vital concern given that approximately 1 in 5 adolescents experience mental and behavioural problems in any given year. 

Lady Gaga earns her sixth number one on Billboard's Digital Song Sales, as her latest single "Shallow" with Bradley Cooper bows atop the list. The theme song for her latest movie A Star Is Born was released in late September with an accompanying video and hasn't left the top spot of the U.S. iTunes since.

Gaga previously topped the Digital Song Sales chart with "Just Dance" feat. Colby O'Donis (2008), "Poker Face" (2009), "Bad Romance" (2009), "Born This Way" (2011), and "Million Reasons" (2016).

On Billboard's main singles chart, the Hot 100, "Shallow" makes a strong debut at No. 28 with 8.3 million U.S. streams and 58,000 downloads.

Lady Gaga has premiered the official music video for "Look What I Found." The track serves as a promotional single from the newly-released soundtrack for A Star Is Born, which currently sits atop the iTunes and Amazon charts in the United States.

Gaga co-produced "Look What I Found" with Mark Nilan Jr., Nick Monson, and her longtime collaborator DJ White Shadow (Born This Way, ARTPOP, "The Cure.")

"It's probably my favorite [of the songs I produced on the soundtrack]," DJ White Shadow told Gaga Daily. "I don't think it's a better song, but I have this very sentimental thing in my brain when we wrote it. I actually recorded it when we were writing it. I listened back to it recently and it made me happy. And it was in Ally's notebook in the trailer, which is way cool."

Lady Gaga is heading to Broadway! Actress Rosie O'Donnell has revealed that a Broadway revival of the classic musical Funny Girl is in the works, starring Lady Gaga and herself. O'Donnell told the audience at New York's Paramount Theater that Gaga would take on the role of Fanny Brice, which was made famous by Barbra Streisand.

The news comes just days after the premiere of Lady Gaga's big screen debut A Star Is Born. The film earned an impressive $43 million in its opening weekend, making it one of the highest debuts for a musical drama of all time. A Star Is Born is a front-runner in this year's Oscars race with many movie experts predicting a Best Actress nomination for Gaga.

Gaga previously won a Golden Globe for Best Actress her guest role on American Horror Story: Hotel.

Funny Girl is based on the life and career of Broadway and film star and comedian Fanny Brice and her gambling husband Nicky Arnstein. The musical opened on Broadway in 1964 and starred Barbra Streisand, who won an Academy Award for her role in the film version four years later.

The sheer feat of what Bradley Cooper pulled off with @starisbornmovie is, to me, breathtaking, and probably the most arresting thing about the film as a whole . Movie musicals have about a million booby traps set for filmmakers to get their movies totally screwed up by. They are ****ing HARD to make well. There’s a reason for why they‘re such a divisive category of film. But I gotta say, I really think Bradley nailed it across the board: SUPERB directing, thoughtful writing, a grounded and compelling performance, solid songwriting, committed singing & playing- he did it ALL. I wasn’t surprised, but nonetheless deeply impressed. Funny story: I’ve been lucky enough to have a few interactions with this guy in the past, and they were all totally cool, relaxed encounters. However, upon seeing him RIGHT after seeing the film- man, I was so blown away by what he accomplished that I mutated into a full-blown Dorkasaurus Rex. It was pretty incredible. I kinda lost my composure and started talking like someone I didn’t know. I believe the phenomenon is called being “starstruck.” Boy was I ever. I was literally rendered speechless. As I was trying to tell him how much I was moved by the film, I stepped out of my own body thinking, dude, get it together. But that’s what happens when you’ve been gobsmacked by something truly awesome. The lines of communication between how you feel and how you’d like to articulate yourself get totally short-circuited, and that’s what happened by way of the rocknroll depth charge that Bradley’s talent set off in that movie theater for me. I even took this derpy-ass picture as an exit strategy from having to hear myself speak anymore 🤦🏻‍♂️ … but despite myself, it’s nice being reminded that none of us are impervious to being awestruck. Even with people we’ve met before! People can do marvelous things, and they can blow your mind into another experience of yourself. It’s honestly why I love going to the movies. It’s a wild and inspiring feeling. So thanks for that, Bradley. You’re a total MF'n force and a true artist. Bravo and thank you for your work.

Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper's A Star is Born got off to a flying start in its opening weekend, debuting with $42.6 million in the United States. The critically-acclaimed movie's audience was 66% female and of the overall audience 86% were 25 years of age or older. 

Internationally, A Star is Born opened to a modest $14 million from 31 markets, including a $5.3 million launch in the UK. The film is yet to premiere in many markets, including South Korea (October 9), Italy (October 11), Brazil (October 11), Mexico (October 12), Australia (October 18) and Japan (Deceber 21).

Lady Gaga sat down with Zane Lowe on Beats 1 on Apple Music to discuss her latest movie A Star Is Born with Bradley Cooper, its soundtrack, and more. 

On hearing Bradley sing for the first time:
I was blown away,, because the truth is that there’s people that can technically sing perfectly and have no soul. And with Bradley, he just sings from his soul, and he knows how to tell a story when he’s singing, and I heard it right away. And I knew in that moment–you know, I’m kind of a bit of a snob when it comes to watching actors play rock star, but I’m telling you, I was like, this man knows how to be a rock star.

On the final song in the film:
It's very special. It’s a song that he writes for her. It has a very tragic twist at the end. We shot it at The Shrine, which Bradley wanted to do as an homage to the Judy Garland version. On that day, my friend Sonja who had been battling cancers for years, her friend called me and I could hear her moaning in the background. And they said she's not doing well and I thought she was dying, so I left the set. I can’t believe I didn’t even stop to see Bradley, and I got in my car and started driving, and I missed her by ten minutes.

On whether A Star Is Born has influenced her future music:
I've already written some music. You're gonna have to wait and find out. But you know, my music always encapsulates a time in my life.

Little Monsters in attendance at the early screening of A Star Is Born in midtown Manhattan were in for a surprise when Lady Gaga herself showed up to say a few words about the highly-anticipated movie and thank the fans for their support.

"There can be a hundred people in a room and 99 don't believe in you, but all you need is just for one person to believe,” Gaga told the audience. "So I have to say thank you to my incredible director Bradley Cooper for being that one person. But also it would be a lie to not thank each and every one of you who have supported me over the years. I would not be here without you."

Lady Gaga's debut movie is not even out yet, but the critical reception to A Star Is Born has been so positive, movie studios are filling up her inbox with more roles. As revealed in Gaga's New York Times cover story, the superstar is reading "piles of scripts," on top of rehearsing for her upcoming Las Vegas residency, and recording a new album.

"I'm just shape-shifting again," Gaga said when asked about her upcoming projects.

Earlier this year, it was reported that Gaga was offered multiple roles in Warner's upcoming Birds of Prey film. Rumor has it that the studio wants her to play either Black Canary or Huntress.

The wait for Lady Gaga's highly-anticipated new movie A Star Is Born is almost over. With less than a week until the release, Warner Bros. has rolled out yet another TV spot featuring a snippet of "Always Remember Us This Way" (Fun fact: this is our favorite song from the movie).

Co-written with Hillary Lindsey ("Million Reasons"), the ballad is one of the 18 original songs on the official soundtrack for A Star Is Born. Some songs on the album don't appear on the movie—Gaga calls them "treats" for the fans.

Lady Gaga made an appearance on The Graham Norton Show as part of the promotional tour for her upcoming movie A Star Is Born. Joined by her co-star Bradley Cooper, as well as Ryan Gosling and Jodie Whittaker, on the red couch, Gaga chatted about her first major acting role and even played a rendition of the Doctor Who theme on a theremin.

Barbra Streisand has seen Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper's A Star Is Born and it looks like the remake has hit all the right notes with the star of the previous version of the iconic film. Speaking to Extra, Streisand called Gaga's acting "wonderful" and predicted that the movie will be a "big hit" when it hits theaters next week.

"I loved it. I think it is wonderful, [Lady Gaga] is wonderful," Barbra said. "Bradley told me he spent months with her working to see her real self. I call her Stefani. I can't call her Lady Gaga, but I understand why she called herself Lady Gaga. I understand that person. I think it is great, they are going to have a big hit."

A Star Is Born marks Cooper's directorial and Gaga's big screen debut, and is based on the 1937 film of the same name. Streisand previously starred in the 1976 version of the movie and won an Oscar for Best Original Song for "Evergreen." In the 2018 version, Gaga plays an aspiring singer Ally, who is finding success with the help of Cooper's character Jackson Maine.

Lady Gaga made an appearance at the London premiere of her highly-anticipated movie A Star Is Born on Thursday. Wearing an Elizabethan-inspired ivory gown by Alexander McQueen, the actress looked stunning as she posed for pictures with her co-star and director Bradley Cooper.

"Bradley is a friend for life. Incredible human being. Not only did I make a great friend from this film, but I got to witness such a masterful artist," Gaga told the Daily Mail on the red carpet. "He's a renaissance man. He directs, writes. He wrote songs for this film, sang live, directed, starred."
