Lady Gaga kicked off her first Las Vegas residency, titled ENIGMA, on Friday night to rave reviews from fans and critics alike. The sold-out opening night is being praised for Gaga's singing and energy, as well as the game changing stage design and production.

Andreas Hale of Billboard called  ENIGMA "an absolutely delicious smorgasbord of pop music, performance art and fantastic futurism during her 90-minute set that kicked off in true Gaga fashion."

"For a show that at first seemed like an excuse to remind us what Gaga is best at, it ended up becoming a show that confirms and begins her legacy," Brittany Spanos of Billboard wrote, while Marc Snetiker of Entertainment Weekly added that ENIGMA "serves as Gaga's way of affirming that she’s never been more secure in who she is."

Yahoo's Lyndsey Parkery called the show "a full-on conceptual production featuring the diva at her campy, crazy best, complete with a Wizard of Oz-meets-Aeon Flux-meets-Barbarella, anime/manga alternate-universe narrative starring Gaga's artificial-intelligence alter ego."

Chris Willman of Variety said that Gaga "was born to be in Vegas" and added that ENIGMA "is a generous show, by Vegas pop standards, not just by exceeding the standard get-‘em-out-onto-the-slot-machines set length, but because Gaga also happens to do almost two hours more of actual singing than some of her counterparts on the Strip."

Lady Gaga's Las Vegas residency is expected to continue through 2021. The 2019 shows are on sale now, with some dates sold-out already.

Lady Gaga's latest hit single "Shallow" from A Star Is Born with Bradley Cooper is the number one dance song in the United Sates this year. The track, which Gaga co-wrote with Mark Ronson, moves 2-1 on Billboard's Dance Club Songs chart, dethroning Ariana Grande's "breathin."

"Shallow" is Gaga's fifteenth song to reach the summit of the dance chart. Until this week, her most recent number one was the Diane Warren-penned "Til It Happens To You."

The nominations for the 2019 Grammy Awards are here and Lady Gaga's latest hit single "Shallow" with Bradley Cooper is up for four awards, including the major categories Song of the Year and Record of the Year, as well as Best Pop Duo/Group Performance and Best Song Written For Visual Media. Additionally, the piano version of her 2016 song "Joanne" will compete alongside such hits as Camila Cabello's "Havana," Ariana Grande's "God Is A Woman," and Post Malone's "Better Now" for the Best Pop Solo Performance award.

Song of the Year and Record of the Year are one of the four most prestigious Grammy categories. This is only the second time Gaga is competing in these categories—she first scored nods for both awards back in 2009 with her hit single "Poker Face."

Song of the Year is awarded exclusively to the songwriters ("Shallow" was co-written by Gaga, Mark Ronson, Anthony Rossomando, and Andrew Wyatt) while Record of the Year is awarded to the performer and production team of a song (the production was handled by Gaga and Benjamin Rice).

"Shallow" is the theme song from Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper's blockbuster movie A Star Is Born, which has grossed $200 million in the United States alone and is enjoying big Oscar buzz. Its parent album, the A Star Is Born soundtrack, was released after this year's Grammy deadline and will be able to compete in the 2020 ceremony.

These are Gaga's third and fourth Golden Globe nominations—she received her first nod in 2012 for Best Original Song for "Hello Hello" with Elton John from Gnomeo & Juliet, and four years later, won Best Actress for her performance in American Horror Story: Hotel.

The 76th Golden Globe Awards on hosted by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association will take place on January 6, 2019 in Beverly Hills.

Lady Gaga surprised her Little Monsters with the very first look at her upcoming ENIGMA show. The singer shared behind-the-scenes clips of herself rehearsing for her first Las Vegas residency, which is currently the hottest-selling show on the strip.

One of the clips shows Gaga dancing to her ARTPOP fan favorite "Aura" wearing a motion capture suit, which transfers human movements to animated 3D models.

"We're creating a show unlike anything I've done before. It will be a celebration of all that is unique and different within us. The challenges of bravery can be overcome with creativity and courage that is grown out of adversity, love and music," Gaga said of the show.

Lady Gaga sat down with actor and composer Lin-Manuel Miranda for a chat for Variety’s Actors on Actors. The two talked about Gaga's big screen debut A Star Is Born, Mary Poppins, Broadway, and more. Watch Gaga and Miranda's talk or read experts from the interview below...

On how acting in A Star Is Born was different from what she'd done before:
Looking back on my career, I created all these characters for each of my albums, because I was not an actress. I created the star of my own movie, and that was it. When I have created characters on my own through my music, I have complete control. When you’re dealing with a script, costume department, props department, set design, lighting and producers, you have to collaborate with other people.

On how she uses social media:
What I have found with Twitter is it's this awesome thing we can use, and it's also a toilet. It can be totally dangerous, so the more that we stick together and promote good things happening in the world... I usually don’t like to do this because I feel like when you do charity work, having a camera crew with you—it's the Catholic in me—it's not selfless. But since the California fires, I went to a shelter. The first time I went, I took photos with people that were there that wanted them. The second time that I went, I was like, "I'm going to post about this because I want people to know that it’s important to do kind things." I just want to always be on the side of kindness.

On whether she would write or star in a Broadway musical:
I love Broadway. I've always been a theater lover. I would absolutely do Broadway. You know why I know I can do it? Because for many years record executives told me I was "too theater." That's all they told me. I was just sitting there, going "What's wrong with loving theater? Didn't Freddie Mercury love theater?" I love theater, I thought theatrics in music was beautiful."

Lady Gaga gave an emotional speech dedicated to her A Star Is Born co-star and director Bradley Cooper, who was 32nd recipient of the American Cinematheque Award at a fundraising ceremony in Beverly Hills. Joined on stage by Sam Ellion, Gaga praised Cooper and told him that she "will never love again a director the way I loved Bradley Cooper," referring to the final A Star Is Born song, "I'll Never Love Again."

"When we do these Q&As and things together, sometimes he calls me Gaga, but we both know that you call me Stefani," she told the audience. "I ran from Stefani for a long time and I put on a superhero cap and called myself Lady Gaga. You challenged me to deep dive into a place where I had to see her again, where I had to be Stefani again. I'm so grateful to you, not just for making me a better actress, but I'm so grateful to you that not only have I been able to call you as a professional, but I've been able to call on you as a friend, and cry, and be myself, and have you never ever judged me. It means everything to me. I've never had an artistic experience like this before. And there's only one human being on the planet that you remind me of and that's Tony Bennett."

Lady Gaga graces the cover of Hollywood Reporter's Actress Roundtable in a stunning photo with fellow actresses Glenn Close, Kathryn Hahn, Nicole Kidman, Regina King and Rachel Weisz. The women sat down to talk about Hollywood and their latest film roles as part of THR's annual gathering of six leading actresses.

"What I really admire about what you all do—because this is new for me—is the places that you have to go to, deep, deep down every time, to play a role," Gaga told the women. "When I'm onstage performing and doing music, I have the audience. It's like this adrenaline rush, and I'm talking to people and shouting at them. But when you are acting, there is no way that you're not going to the depths of who you are, into a very scary place. I just have to commend each and every one of you for it. Because I still feel like I am recovering from playing this role."

Congratulations are in order for Lady Gaga who just won the first acting award for her performance as Ally in A Star Is Born at this year's National Board Of Review. Gaga was named 2018's Best Actress by the organization's select group of filmmakers, academics and industry professionals, and will be presented with the award at the NBR Awards Gala on January 8, 2019 in New York.

Among other A Star Is Born winners are Bradley Cooper for his directorial debut and Sam Elliot for his supporting role in the blockbuster film.

The National Board of Review is one of the first to announce its choices for the best films of the year as awards season officially kicks off.

Lady Gaga looked chic in black as she helped kick off the awards season at the 10th Annual Governors Awards. Gaga hit the red carpet at the Ray Dolby Ballroom in Los Angeles wearing a stunning Valentino gown.

Hosted by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, the ceremony is considered a must for actors hoping for an Oscar nomination.

Lady Gaga is a surprise guest on her friend and collaborator Brian Newman's new album Showboat, out today. The jazz collection, produced by Tony Bennett's son Dae Bennett, features Gaga's cover of Nina Simone's 1964 classic "Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood."

"We knew we wanted to get Lady Gaga on the new album and 'Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood' felt like the perfect song," Brian Newman said, adding that Showboat is a "diverse playlist that is steeped in the tradition of classic American music as well as its modern counterparts."

Brian Newman has been performing with Gaga throughout her career and will join her on stage again next year during her Lady Gaga: Jazz & Piano show in Las Vegas.

Lady Gaga has reunited with frequent collaborator Nicola Formichetti for her Las Vegas residency, titled ENIGMA. The Italian-Japanese fashion designer, who first collaborated with Gaga on her iconic music video for "Bad Romance," and later worked on The Monster Ball Tour, the videos for "Telephone," "Alejandro," and "Born This Way," and much more, has revealed the he will be styling the upcoming show.

"I am working with Lady Gaga around her Enigma Vegas show which is going to be a super-duper crazy experience," Formichetti told OUT Magazine. "There’s still a lot more details to come but I can’t wait to share it with you all."

Lady Gaga will kick off ENIGMA at Park MGM Resort on December 28. The show is choreographed by Gaga's longtime visual director Richy Jackson, who called it "unique" and something that has "never been done before."

On the success of A Star Is Born:
I only want to win now because I want that kid who feels like me, that misfit or outcast that didn’t belong, to win. The reward for me is that this movie is a win for them.

On keeping props from the set:
This is very precious to me. These are heirlooms, or they will be heirlooms one day. They are things I will want to show my little girl or little boy and say, "Here they are. You can touch them." I want them to have a close, tangible, poetic experience with the film the way I have.

On the success of "Shallow":
To me, that conversation is what makes the song successful and beautiful and why people cry when they hear it. It's because that man and woman connect, and they are listening to each other.

On watching the Oscars as a child:
I used to wrap myself in an Afghan or my grandmother's knitted blanket and stand on a podium while I watched the Oscars. I had big dreams as a child.

Lady Gaga stopped by a Red Cross shelter on Sunday evening to cheer up its residents following the devastating wildfire in Northern California, which killed 31 people and left hundreds missing.

"I know that a lot of you are feeling a lot of pain right now and a lot of shock," Gaga said. "I will pray for each and every one of you. You will be in my thoughts. I extend my love to each and every one of you. I know we do not know each other, but I love you. This is an emergency, but you are not alone."

She encouraged the evacuees to "keep the faith" and share their stories: "Please do not discount your mental health during this time. It is so important that you take care of what's going on in your head and your heart."

Lady Gaga was honored with a Patron of the Artists Award alongside Harrison Ford by the SAG-AFTRA Foundation on Thursday night in Beverly Hills. In a powerful, nearly 30-minute speech, Gaga called for an end to the stigma surrounding mental health and opened up about her own struggles and thoughts of suicide.

"We are in the midst of a global mental health crisis," Gaga told the star-studded audience. "We are losing a generation of young people who do not believe that their voices are worth hearing, that their pain has no end, and that their contributions are not valuable enough to move the needle in society and culture. We are facing a crisis of epic proportions and the cause of that crisis is our inability or unwillingness to be open and honest about one thing—mental health, today."

Lady Gaga has shared a music video for "Always Remember Us This Way" from the soundtrack for A Star Is Born with Bradley Cooper. The video features scenes from the blockbuster movie and follows Gaga's character Ally as she performs the song live for the first time.

One of the soundtrack's many highlights, "Always Remember Us This Way" was written on the spot and recorded immediately. 

"The moment it was written, we cut it in the studio, and I just remember the writers were singing background and Stefani was singing live, just belting it," the song's producer Dave Cobb recalled. "It was pure magic when that went down and you can hear it in the film—the energy and the excitement that was happening."

Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper's A Star Is Born soundtrack leads the Billboard 200 album chart for a third consecutive week with 110,000 units sold in the United States. The album becomes Gaga's longest-leading album to date, surpassing the 2011 smash Born This Way, which spent two weeks at the summit.

A Star Is Born made a smashing debut on the chart earlier this month with 231,000 units in the United States in its first week, far exceeding the industry's original projections by over 80% percent. The album made Gaga the only female artist to top the Billboard 200 with five records this decade.

The movie, which marks Gaga's big screen and Cooper's directorial debut, opened at No. 1 at the Australian box office with $8.39 million over its debut week—more than the rest of the Top 10 combined.

On the Australian Recording Industry Association albums chart, A Star Is Born moves to No. 1, becoming Gaga's third number one album after The Fame Monster (2010) and Born This Way (2011).

On the official ARIA singles chart, "Shallow" jumps up 16 spots to No. 1, earning Gaga her first number one single in seven years, and her fourth overall. She previously peaked at No. 1 with "Just Dance" (2008), "Poker Face" (2008), and "Born This Way" (2011).

Australia is one of the many markets the A Star Is Born went number one in. The soundtrack album previously topped the charts in the United States, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Canada, New Zealand, South Korea, Sweden, and more.

Lady Gaga has just added another major achievement to her collection of accolades by becoming the first artist to simultaneously hold the No. 1 song, album, and film in the UK.

Lady Gaga's latest chart-topping album A Star Is Born was released just weeks ago, but the singer is already working on a follow-up. Speaking to Brazil's El Pais, the Gaga revealed that a new album is in the works, but she's keeping all the details a secret as she wants it to be a "surprise."

"I can't tell you anything about my next album because I want it to be a surprise," Gaga said, adding that the next priority on her schedule is her upcoming Las Vegas residency: "I want to reinvent the idea of a show in that city. I want to give it my all."

The project will be Lady Gaga's sixth solo album, following The Fame, The Fame Monster, Born This Way, ARTPOP, and Joanne. This year, Gaga was spotted in recording studios with producers like DJ White Shadow, Boys Noize, SOPHIE and BloodPop, although it wasn't confirmed which collaborations will make the cut. Additionally, the "Shallow" singer has finished recording a new jazz album with Tony Bennett and it's scheduled for release sometime in 2019.

The soundtrack for Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper's A Star Is Born has scored a second week at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 album chart. The album sold 143,000 units in the week ending October 18, following its chart-topping debut on last week's chart.

A Star Is Born is Gaga's first album to spend more than one week at the summit since Born This Way, which topped the chart for two weeks in 2011. Should Star earn another week atop the chart, it will become Gaga's longest-reigning No. 1 ever.

"My very dear friend Sonja died of cancer that day," Gaga said. "We were supposed to shoot in 30 minutes, and I left the set because her husband called me and I could hear her in the background and I just got in the car and drove. I missed her by 15 minutes. I laid with her, with her husband, and their dog, and his son. When I came back, Bradley was so gentle with me and we got through it. I performed the song. All I wanted to do was sing. I'll never forget that day. It was really a special scene, and I'll always remember that moment."

Lady Gaga, who is currently enjoying critical and commercial success for her debut movie A Star Is Born, was honored as one of ELLE's Women in Hollywood at an event in Los Angeles on Monday night. Wearing an oversized Marc Jacobs suit, Gaga gave a moving speech about women in show business and her personal struggles with fame and mental health.

"I tried on dress after dress today getting ready for this event, one tight corset after another, one heel after another, a diamond, a feather, thousands of beaded fabrics and the most beautiful silks in the world," Gaga said. "To be honest, I felt sick to my stomach. And I asked myself: What does it really mean to be a woman in Hollywood? We are not just objects to entertain the world. We are not members of a giant beauty pageant meant to be pit against one another for the pleasure of the public. We, women in Hollywood, we are voices. She continued: "So, after trying ten or so dresses, with a sad feeling in my heart, that all that would matter was what I wore to this red carpet, I saw an oversized Marc Jacobs suit buried quietly in the corner. I put it on to a resounding view of eyes glaring at me in confusion. 'But the Rodarte was so beautiful!' one said. 'But the Raf Simons for Calvin Klein was so stunning on you!said another. But what about the Brandon Maxwell? What about the Dior?' Lots of questions. They were all dresses. This was an oversized men’s suit made for a woman. Not a gown. And then I began to cry. In this suit, I felt like me today. In this suit, I felt the truth of who I am well up in my gut. And then wondering what I wanted to say tonight become very clear to me."

Gaga also opened up about her sexual assault and suffering from PTSD and chronic pain.

"As a sexual assault survivor by someone in the entertainment industry, as a woman who is still not brave enough to say his name, as a woman who lives with chronic pain, as a woman who was conditioned at a very young age to listen to what men told me to do, I decided today I wanted to take the power back," she added. "After I was assaulted when I was 19 I changed forever. Part of me shut down for many years. I didn’t tell anyone. I avoided it myself. And felt shame even still today standing in front of you. I feel shame for what happened to me. I still have days where I feel like it was my fault. After I shared what happened to me with very powerful men in this industry, nobody helped me. No one offered my guidance or a helping hand to lead me to a place where I felt justice, they didn’t even point me in the direction of the mental health assistance I was in dire need of. Those men hid because they were afraid of losing their power. And because they hid, I began to hide.

"I hid for a long time until I started to feel physical pain. Then I had to go to the doctor because I didn’t know what was wrong with me. And then I was diagnosed with PTSD and Fibromyalgia, which many people don't think is real, and I don't even know what the **** to say about that. But I’ll tell you what it is. It’s a syndrome that is essentially a cyclone of stress induced pain. And I really wish my friend Lena Dunham was here tonight because I think she could probably articulate this much better than me. And I hope we can all agree that she’s a remarkable woman."
