Congratulations to Lady Gaga, who just became the first artist in history to have two songs pass 7 million downloads in the United States! Gaga's debut single "Just Dance" reached the milestone on the week ending September 24th, joining "Poker Face," which is her best-selling song to date.

"That record saved my life," Gaga said of 'Just Dance.' "I was in such a dark space in New York. I was so depressed, always in a bar. I got on a plane to LA to do my music and was given one shot to write the song that would change my life and I did. I never went back."

"Just Dance" was written by Lady Gaga and produced by RedOne, who is currently working on Gaga's fifth album, due out in 2016.

Lady Gaga is Billboard magazine's 2015 Woman of the Year.

Early reviews for American Horror Story: Hotel are in, and they are glowing, with many critics praising Gaga's outstanding performance.

On Saturday, FX held a private screening for the new season of their hit show, which drew crew and cast members, celebrities, journalists and critics. Lady Gaga was the last to arrive at the star-studded red carpet, wearing a Brandon Maxwell wave gown in custom red crepe. "I'm just so happy to be here and I feel really honored to be part of such a talented cast," she said.

The first episode, titled "Checkin In," was then screened for a selected group of journalists from the world's leading publications and their reaction was overwhelmingly positive.

"Sophisticated, sexy and scary as hell. In. So In. And Lady Gaga is fantastic," Kristin Dos Santos of E! Online wrote, adding: "The first scene with Gaga and Matt Bomer might be my favorite so far of the entire series. Terrifying and jaw-dropping."

"Loved the premiere and I feel like we've only seen the tip of this insane iceberg," tweeted Buzzfeed's Jarett Wieselman. "Gaga is everything you want and more, Paulson rocked my world, there's a murder tableau that rivals Seven and Matt Bomer has never been sexier -- and I've done the research."

Debra Birnbaum simply wrote: "I have two words to say about the first episode of American Horror Story: Lady Gaga."

American Horror Story: Hotel starring Lady Gaga premieres on Wednesday on FX.

The new season of American Horror Story is promised to be the sexiest yet and Lady Gaga, who plays the main character, says it's an opportunity for her to be fearless.

Speaking to Access Hollywood during the season premiere event on Saturday, she admitted: "In a strange way, I think I almost prefer to watch myself in a love scene, because I know that I have to be completely honest in order to achieve something that looks authentic and feels real. I'm trying to see that authenticity in myself all the time on film. Sometimes, when you're thinking too much about things you plan them out and you're more robotic in your performance."

Lady Gaga arrived at the premiere event's red carpet wearing a stunning Brandon Maxwell dress and accompanied by her proud fiancé Taylor Kinney. "I'm so happy that he's here," she said. "He's just been really supportive and teaching me everything that I could ever learn about TV."

Last month, it was revealed that one of the opening scenes of the show is Lady Gaga and Matt Bomer's characters having a foursome with another couple, then killing their partners with razor-sharp gloves and feasting on their bood.

Not only is Lady Gaga the new star of Ryan Murphy's American Horror Story, but she's also a massive fan of his new show Scream Queens and wants to make a guest appearance on the series. 

Speaking to Extra at the premiere event for American Horror Story: Hotel, the Emmy-winning producer said: "She's obsessed with Scream Queens! She keeps  asking me, 'Why haven't you written me a cameo? I want to go and be a Kappa girl.' Never say never, but I love that she loves it."

On working with Gaga on Hotel, he added: "She's the most professional, the most hard working… She shows up every day hours before she has to be there. She kisses and hugs every crew member before she starts her day."

American Horror Story: Hotel premieres on Wednesday on FX.

The new season of American Horror Story starring Lady Gaga hasn't aired yet, but the singer-turned-actress is already in talks to join the 2016 season of the series. The show's creator Ryan Murphy was so impressed with Gaga's performance in Hotel, that he offered her a role in the yet-untitled season six, tweeting: "Lady Gaga is so brilliant in Season 5 that yesterday I officially asked her to join Season 6. Say yes, Gaga!

"I do know what the next season is, and I've started to talk to people," Murphy told E! last week. "I always have to know by October 1 what the next season is to make it work. It's a very labor intensive thing."

Lady Gaga says working on American Horror Story: Hotel was about "getting into bed" with Ryan Murphy's mind.

"I know what maybe everyone thinks happens is that I get a script and I go, 'Oh yay, a foursome!'," Gaga told The Hollywood Reporter on the set of the show. "It's just not like that. I don't just simply do things because things are provocative, or because they are shocking. I'm doing it because the story that he's telling about addiction, the story that he's telling about our own narcissism, the story that he's telling about how the human being strives to survive within the challenges of the universe... That to me is what makes the sex so good."

She continued: "I just told Ryan that I wanted to play a dangerous woman that was fearless and he did just that. I mostly told him that because I wanted to extend to him what it is that I extend to every person I collaborate with, which is all of me: my past, my present, my future, all of it, in one, all the time. I really just wanted to work on something that I truly could put my heart and soul into that I would believe in fully. And also, it's kinda nice to be on the bottom sometimes, and not be on top and just let somebody else to be in control of my desire to make things. We're not just doing this together side by side. This is about me completely getting into bed with his mind and this world that he has created for you to discover things about yourself that you did not know you liked."

American Horror Story: Hotel debuts tomorrow at 10 pm on FX.

Lady Gaga says she was surprised by her fiancé Taylor Kinney's reaction to her making an acting debut on American Horror Story: Hotel, which premieres tomorrow on FX.

"What guy in that scenario would be like, 'Sure, babe, do TV!'?" Gaga told E!. "He does TV, that's his thing. I do music, and you know, we're together. But I sort of was like, 'Is it cool if I do TV?,' And he was like, 'F--k yeah!'"

Gaga adds that Taylor has been "exponentially supportive the entire time and just like, so cool" as she prepared for her role on the Emmy-winning series.

She recalled: "He was like, 'We can read scripts together, and we can talk about our characters together, and I can teach you how to be on set! And he taught me all about etiquette and what actors would appreciate during their coverage. He taught me to make sure that I was always available fully to the actors when I was working so that when the coverage is on them that I don't drop my character, that I'm always in it for them, and you know, that's invaluable advice."

American Horror Story: Hotel premieres tomorrow at 10 p.m. on FX.

Lady Gaga stopped by the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon to talk about her role on the new season American Horror Story, her fiancé Taylor Kinney, and more on Tuesday night. It is Gaga's third appearance on the popular show, but first as a lead interview guest.

Gaga's visit comes one day before the premiere of American Horror Story: Hotel, which marks her television acting debut. "I worked really hard on it and I completely committed to the role and I'm not doing anything else while doing Horror Story," she told Jimmy. "What I would say about this season is that there is a very interesting exploration of themes of addiction and survival, and how we as people nowadays kind of isolated ourselves from one another. We don't communicate the same way, there's not as much human interaction. As a result, there's this really strange world that Ryan has created of these very narcissistic characters that are all trying to survive in their own way."

American Horror Story: Hotel premieres on October 7th on FX.

Americans for the Arts, the nation's leading non-profit organization for advancing the arts and arts education, has announced its annual National Arts Awards honorees and among them is Lady Gaga! Mother Monster will receive the "Young Artist Award" for her work that shows deep commitment to art and demonstrates extraordinary achievement.

According to a press release, the awards honour "individuals who share a common belief in the power of the arts and arts education to enrich individual lives and communities alike." Other honorees include Sophia Loren, Herbie Hancock, Joan and Irwin Jacobs, Alice Walton, and Maria Bell.

In 2013, Lady Gaga released a whole album aiming to bring art culture into the sphere of pop. "I'm still a very young artist, I'm still growing," she said during the promo tour for ARTPOP. "I feel like I don't even know if I will come upon a truly great original moment for ten more years. It is like I have an insatiable need just to try."

The 2015 National Arts Awards will be presented on October 19th at Cipriani 42nd Street in New York City.

Lady Gaga and Tony Bennett's latest album Cheek to Cheek has been a massive success, selling over one million copies, spawning a sold-out world tour, and earning a Grammy award and an Emmy nomination. And now, they are ready for more!

The jazzy duo are back in studio with the Brian Newman band and the Tony Bennett Quartet, according to pictures posted on Gaga's and Bennett's Instagram accounts.

"Lady Gaga has never looked better or happier," the 89-year-old jazz legend posted on Wednesday night as Gaga was having a bloody foursome with Matt Bomer on screen in American Horror Story: Hotel. "Loved singing with her today."

Although it is not yet confirmed whether Tony and Gaga were working on another full-length album, they duo have plans to release a cover album of Cole Porter's songs for the 1936 musical Red, Hot & Blue. Back in February, Tony told the LA Times: "Gaga's not a flash in the pan. That's why I had to do these great standards. And it's really paying off because the album's so big. Now we're about to record an album of all Cole Porter songs. That'll be the second album."

Lady Gaga and Tony Bennett are set to perform at a Frank Sinatra tribute concert on December 12th in Las Vegas.

The season premiere of American Horror Story: Hotel starring Lady Gaga was not only well-received by fans and critics alike, but also a ratings hit, drawing over 5.8 million viewers according to Nielsen. The episode, which marks Gaga's television debut, is the second most watched episode of the entire series -- the top spot belongs to Freak Show's opener with 6.1 million.

These early numbers don't include non-live viewers, so Hotel still has a chance to surpass Freak Show's rating once three days of DVR playback are factored in.

Additionally, "Checking In" topped the social ratings last night, driving 878,000 tweets seen by over 5.4 million people.

Lady Gaga says American Horror Story has liberated her and become a place where she can put all her imperfections.

"I am finding a million new things about myself, what I want and who I want to be but most importantly, I have actually found a place to put so much pain and anguish that I have nowhere to put," Gaga told The Inquirer. "You can put it in your music but that's not always what people want from me in my music... They want a sweet, delightful, 'Just Dance' kind of girl or they want 'Bad Romance' and that's fine."

She continued: "I am happy to give people that but maybe with my song 'Dope' or some of the things I did on ARTPOP, you saw a kind of dark side, wrapped up in colors. But maybe that was not always what people want to see. They want to see the perfection. Here (on Hotel), it's the imperfection that is the win. So it's very liberating."

Lady Gaga has blasted Russia's anti-gay leader Vladimir Putin, telling Inquirer that she can't understand people who use their power for evil.

"I am irate with people who are cruel," Gaga said when asked what upsets her most. "One of the people I think about most often is Vladimir Putin. I don't understand people who use their voice for evil. I watch society today — people bitching and moaning at each other over the Internet. It feels stupid, unimportant and shallow, totally missing the point."

Back in 2013, the Russian government unanimously passed a law prohibiting "propaganda of nontraditional sexual relations" among minors, which made it illegal to speak about homosexuality in public, and fuelled homophobia. Later that year, Putin signed a law banning the adoption of children by same-sex parents.

In 2012, Lady Gaga was threatened with arrest if she spoke about the LGBT community at her Born This Way concerts in Moscow and St. Peteresburg. However, she dedicated a significant portion of both shows to speeches about equality and human rights, telling the crowd, "When they said that when you go to Russia, they may arrest you. I said 'Arrest me, I don't give a f--k what people say!' If you are willing to give it all up for your freedom would you cuff yourself, Russia?"

In a recent interview with CBS, Putin claimed that the gay community experiences "no persecution at all" in Russia.

Lady Gaga has just been announced to perform the 71st annual Columbus Day Parade, which will take place on Monday, October 12th in New York City. The parade brings together 35,000 Italian Americans celebrating their rich heritage and culture.

It will be Gaga's second performance at the event -- she first played there exactly 10 years ago when she was just nineteen. She sang a song called "No Floods" from her very first EP as Stefani Germanotta, and wowed the crowd with her vocals. "She's only nineteen and what a voice," said one of the hosts during the live broadcast on NBC.

Gaga and her mother will also be honored with a Humanitarian award for her work with the Born This Way Foundation. The show will be broadcast live on ABC7 New York at noon.

Lady Gaga performed at the Columbus Citizens Foundation Gala on Saturday night. Mother Monster took the stage at New York's Waldorf Astoria to play several songs, including "La Vie En Rose" and "O Sole Mio" with Tony Bennett, at the event which celebrated the strong bonds between Italy and the United States and raised over $3 million for scholarships.

"I loved singing for the Columbus Citizens Foundation last night," Gaga wrote on her Instagram page. "Poured into some of Dinah Washington's favorites and commemorated decades of Italian immigrants supporting one another. Thank you for loving me and my family all these years, Ti Amo!"

Shiseido have released another gorgeous commercial starring the beauty brand's new face Lady Gaga. Directed by Ellen von Unwerth, the clip was filmed back in February and features Gaga dancing to a DJ White Shadow remix of "Cheek to Cheek" with Japanese models.

"We are having the best time," Gaga told her Japanese fans backstage at the shoot. "We are having fun celebrating makeup and continuing to redefine what it means to be beautiful. Thank you so much for all of your love and support!"

Although the commercial was made for the Japanse audience, Shiseido products are available to buy worldwide.

Ryan Murphy might have just hinted that Lady Gaga is already planning a tour for her next album. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the Emmy-winning producer said that Gaga had not yet decided if she will return for season six of American Horror Story, which is scheduled for spring 2016, because "she's working on an album and has a tour."

"I really think she's the artist of her generation. I think that she can do everything. She pushes boundaries and I push boundaries which tends to piss a lot of people off," he said of working with Gaga on Hotel, adding: "We have talked about the next season. She's working on her album and she has a tour. So we're trying to figure that out. But I have my fingers crossed, because I have a great role for her next year that she likes."

Lady Gaga told the magazine earlier this month that Murphy is a creative soulmate for her.

"'It's over the top, it's trying too hard...' every single thing I'm sure that has ever been said about Ryan has been said about me many more times for sure," she said. "Through my career, even after Grammys and tons of accolades and awards, I'm still a blond with tits and an ass, and there's like some inability for people to take me seriously. And Ryan is not that way. Ryan's like, 'You're an old movie star, come sit next to me, let me brush your hair, let's talk about your career.'"

Gaga continued: "I know it shouldn't matter that he's gay but for what it's worth I have very special relationships with my gay friends, it's a whole other thing. It's a wise feminine connection that extends beyond sex. It's more about admiring each other as people. So he's certainly a creative soulmate for me and I just can't even believe he's in my life."

Lady Gaga and Taylor Kinney may be engaged now, but their first interaction was not love at first sight. The 34-year-old actor, who is the star of NBC's hit series Chicago Fire, told Andy Cohen that Gaga slapped him the first time he kissed her on the set of the "Yoü And I" music video.

"I remember I went up, and we're rolling, and I kissed her and she didn't expect it," Taylor recalled. "They cut, and she slapped me. And it was just awkward. And the next take, I just did it again and then she didn't slap me. She didn't slap me then. We had a good time. I think there was chemistry. It was a late shoot. We were shooting until 4 or 5 in the morning. We exchanged information. A few weeks went by and we kept in touch and then that's that."

The couple got engaged this Valentine's Day after being together for more than three years.

"He put me on the back of his motorcycle and we drove away from all my security and he got in a lot of trouble," Gaga said of her first date with Taylor. "I just remember my helmet got all foggy because I was crying because I hadn't been outside by myself for so long. He hid me away in this little shack at the beach, where we made love all day long and then he introduced me to all his friends. And I'll never forget it because the one before him told me I would never make another friend, he told me I would die a rich old woman in a big house. With all my fame and no sense of the world. But not this guy. He told me that he was a gypsy too and if I wanted to we could go anywhere together or anywhere apart."

On creating the Born This Way foundation:
This foundation was born from the years I spent watching my fans grow up. Many of them were really young: 11- to 17-year-olds in very tumultuous times. They would tell me their stories -- and many of them were very dark. As I began to care for them and to see myself in them, I felt I had to do something that would remind kids they're not alone. When they feel isolated, that's when it leads to suicide.

On what makes her proudest about Born This Way:
When I see the friendships these kids have built. When I see a child with an eating disorder sit down with somebody who has a lifelong terminal illness and somebody who's in transition -- that makes me feel like we're doing something no one else is. This is my life purpose, this foundation. This is why I was brought to life, I think.

On changing the way she dresses:
There's always a dichotomy within me. If you see me dressing really out there, I tend to be self-deprecating inside. When I dress like a lady, I tend to be feeling very wild and confident. That sounds bizarre, but I get a lot of s--t done with that blond hair. I haven't changed. It's just that I'm almost 30. I'm learning how to function effectively in society.

On "Till It Happens To You":
It's hard to listen to that song, it's hard to watch it. Diane [Warren] really held my hand. I was like, "I've done a lot of things Diane, but can I do this?" She was like, "You can do this." It was extremely cathartic to know that not only am I not alone, but that other men and women aren't alone -- we all have each other. Even outside of rape culture, there are a lot of people silently in pain about extremely traumatic things. 

On her friendship with Elton John:
He inspires me in ways I could not even begin to list properly. He is my friend, he is like a parent. He looks out for me, he was there for me during the hardest times in my life. He doesn't allow me to slip into depression without making sure that I'm OK. Everything he has done for AIDS, everything he has done for the LGBT community. He's just everything -- when I'm with him, I just want to help be a part of his genius plan to save the world. 

Lady Gaga told fans that she can't wait for them to see what the Haus of Gaga is working on! 

"When your coolest of cool friends tell you they felt liberated by an artistic experience -- one you conjured from your heart for them, I think there is no greater soaring of the soul," Gaga wrote on her Instagram page. "Not to make art not for the elusive 'other,' but for each other. So it can live on through the sharing of our creative processes. Through love. Can't wait for the world to see what the Haus is making now."

Lady Gaga was honored at the annual National Arts Awards, presented by Americans for the Arts, the nation's leading non-profit organization for advancing the arts and arts education, on Monday night in New York City. Mother Monster received the "Young Artist" award for her work that shows deep commitment to art and demonstrates extraordinary achievement.

"What I always wanted was to be taken seriously and tonight's the closest I might come to that," Gaga said as she accepted the Jeff Koons-designed award, wearing a gorgeous Marc Jacobs gown. "Art can make you foolish and wild but it’s always been a warm blanket for me to rely on. Art has totally cured me. I don't think there's a single award that is more meaningful to me than this one."

Earlier that night, Gaga walked the red carpet of her fiancé Taylor Kinney's new movie Rock the Kasbah.

Lady Gaga's fiancé Taylor Kinney may be her best friend and biggest supporter, but that doesn't mean he enjoyed watching her blood-drenched sex scene in the first episode of American Horror Story: Hotel.

"It was awkward! They had a really lovely premiere in Los Angeles the other week, and I was sitting next to her father and we were both kind of like, 'Wow! Good job, honey!,'" Taylor joked on yesterday's Meredith Vieira Show.

He continued: "I remember I was walking out, and Ryan Murphy, who created the show and directed that episode as well, he's like, 'Hey, what did you think?' and I don't think I said anything. I'm still trying to process what the hell I just watched. Brace yourself, Taylor, because Gaga has filmed about a dozen more sex scenes for the show.

The event aims to "ignite important conversations about making schools a place where all students can thrive."

On what made her start the Born This Way foundation:
I started writing Born This Way and the experience was extremely therapeutic for me to reveal to myself things that I didn't always want to admit. I think a lot of what we're doing here today and what I'm hoping that you all take away from this today is that you should not need feel like a victim in this situation. In fact, nobody can help you more than you can help yourself. And when I was writing Born This Way I was asking myself how I really felt, and what I discovered that there was a lot of repressed anger, and rage, and sadness that I had not dealt with for years. I looked out into the sea of my amazing fans every night and I saw tiny mirrors in a disco ball reflecting back at me. I saw lots of different versions of myself. And the truth is that we share in our stress, we share in our anxiety, and we're here today because it is the parts of our brain that handle stress, that also handle our physical pain, our emotional pain, it comes from the same place. We want to put it out there that there is a strategy for everyone to feel better. But how can we stop telling kids how to do things, and what they should do and start listening to what it is that we can do for you.

On what Emotion Revolution is about:
What I wanna know is, how can we impress to people that this really isn't as complicated as they think it is? I know that we're not holding sick children  and saying "Your check goes here." What we're saying is that this is an important issue, emotional intelligence affects your future, and your opportunities, and your ability to live a happy life. It affected my ability to live a happy life, it still does. And these kids that are doing it best, they are the ones that are inhaling this philosophy with all of them. It's not just about being nice one day. This is about every day of your life as a student and as a teacher revealing yourself, revealing your emotions to you and to the people around you that you're actually listening when they're talking. 

On the importance of being able to say 'no':
I have some sort of anxiety, depression, something... that's changed my whole live. I take an antidepressant medication for it. I have tried to get off of it, my doctor always tells me not to. That it's not safe for me to, whenever I've tried to I've gotten very neurotic, manic, sick. So, I have had to study all different types of ways. I started looking into ayurvedic medicine, I started looking into mindfulness and meditation, I started looking into a mantra, I do acupuncture, I do cupping, I pray sometimes, I make music, I write poetry, I'm an actress now (that's helped me a lot!). These are the things I started to do but what helped me the most that I want to impress upon all of you is that realized that part of my identity is saying 'no' to things I don't want to do. And you're all in school and you all a lot of teach and a lot of people around you that tell you all day that you have to do but it is your right to choose what  you do and don't do. It's your right to choose what you believe in and don't believe in. It's your right to curate your life and your own life and your own perspective.

I have had to make decisions like, "Why am I unhappy? Okay, Stefani, Gaga, Hybrid person, why are you unhappy? Why is it that you want to quit music?" Well, I really don't like selling these fragrances, perfumes. I don't like wasting my time spending days just shaking people's hands and smiling, taking selfies. It feels shallow to my existence. I hae a lot more to offer than my image. I don't like being used to make people money. I feel sad when I'm overworked and that I've just become a moneymaking machine and that my passion and my creativity take a back seat. That makes me unhappy. So what did I do? I started to say 'no.' I'm not doing that. I don't wanna do that. I'm not taking that picture. I'm not going to that event. I'm not standing by that, because that's not what I stand for. And slowly but surely I remembered who I am. And then you go home, and you look in the mirror and you're like, 'Yes! I can go to bed with you every night, because I know that person.' That person has balls, that person has integrity, that person has an opinion. That person doesn't get a text from somebody and say 'Oh my god, they wrote this, and they sent this emoji, should I write this back, what do you think, is that okay?' This is the age that we live in. We're not actually communicating with each other, we're unconsciously communicating lies.

On the power of words on the Internet: 
What if we told all just told Twitter that they had to have a standard of morality? From an artist's mouth, I am telling you that freedom of speech is overrated. But what really scares me is these massive corporations that just have no standarts for values at all. "It's not my problem, it's your problem. But I'll take your money and we'll go public." Is that what we're gonna do? Is that what we stand for as a generation? Oh, it's fine, because I still get to post my pictures? Nobody is going to remember what you tweeted, but you will never forget all that hateful s--t that you read every single day that made you sick at school.
