Lady Gaga and Tony Bennett brought their Cheek to Cheek world tour to Detroit's Meadow Brook Hall on Monday night and treated the sold-out crowd to a night of classic selections from the Great American Songbook, including such beloved standards as "Anything Goes," "Lush Life" and "It Don't Mean A Thing."

Gaga, however, had to briefly stop the show to calm down an enthusiastic fan, who had been waving at the singer and taking photos non-stop. "I’m gonna let you take one selfie, and then you’re going to listen to the music," Mother Monster told the fan, and, after kneeling down to take that selfie, added: "My whole generation is high on their cell phones."

On Thursday morning, Lady Gaga purchased three new pairs of Alexander McQueen's Armadillo Boots that had been produced and auctioned to benefit Unicef's relief efforts helping earthquake victims in Nepal. In an exclusive personal note she published in V Magazine, Gaga shares her memories, emotions and gratitude for her friend that left the world too soon.

"There is no diamond, no award, nothing I ever wanted more than a memory of my brief friendship with McQueen," Gaga writes. "I am sad every day that I enter my closet, knowing he is not here anymore to dazzle the world with his beautiful, dark, limitless, brave mind. These shoes are the only tangible piece I have left of our work together. They came to me this morning, after a dream I had again about him. As the dream goes, I enter my closet and his clothes are no longer there. I'm tortured. The loss is deep. Mourning in my own way constantly, why he is gone, he was so talented. I hate the empty space, not only in fashion, but in the creative consciousness that fizzled when he passed.

"This morning I got the call I would now be the caregiver to 3 pairs of armadillo platforms, just like the kind I wore in the 'Bad Romance' video, the shoes from his crescendo collection 'Plato's Atlantis,' the ones that made everyone gasp from the front row because they had NEVER seen something like them before. I was reminded this morning that he is still here. He is everywhere. In every store window. In the designs of commercial mainstream retail, fashion, in music, in the heart of every young designer that wishes he could be as free and as fearless as McQueen was. I cried all morning, convinced he was with me. Convinced that I'm loved from somewhere far beyond the eternal body and mind, outside of all the chaos. He wanted me to have them. They made their way back to me. I am here today not just because of my talent, but because he believed in me. My weird brand of art pop manic expression of my emotions was the part of me he knew he taught me. I will be grateful long after I pass and join him wherever it is they put souls like us. Long live McQueen."

Lady Gaga made one little boy's day in Chicago today. The lucky boy was Coltrane, a 2-year-old cool kid from Oakland, California who has Joubert syndrome, a very rare birth defect that affects about 1 in 100,000 children.

Coltrane and his parents are in Chicago for the 2015 Joubert Syndrome Conference, and as they were enjoying the sunny day in the city, they bumped into none other than Mother Monster herself.

"Lady Gaga talked to Coltrane for a few minutes and we got to tell her about Joubert syndrome and the conference this week," Coltrane's father Oscar told Gaga Daily. "I tried to talk calmly while screaming inside. She told us about her Born This Way Foundation. Sweet, charming and genuinely interested, initially approached us about his wheelchair. I was spooning him some Greek yogurt and chatting it up with people sitting by us. I love Lady Gaga and to know she is aware of Joubert syndrome makes me so happy."

The boy's mother, Ayah, added: "We had a good conversation about the genius of John Coltrane, Joubert Syndrome and how people are 'born this way'! Sweetest lady, that Mother Monster."

Ryan Murphy has revealed more details about the highly-anticipated new season of American Horror Story starring Lady Gaga. While on stage in a joint panel for his upcoming series Scream Queens at the 2015 Comic-Con International in San Diego, Murphy teased Gaga's "evil" role and admitted that casting her was "one of the weirdest things" of his career.

Murphy said: "How it happened with Gaga is: she wrote and said 'I love the show, would you consider putting me on?' And I wrote back 'Yes', caps, caps."

"Her schedule was so bananas crazy that she gave us a huge window and she is going to shoot all of her episodes in that window," he continued. "She likes to be sort of doing one thing at the time. So when she is acting with us she is going to be acting. But she has been very collaborative and incredibly fun. You know when you work with somebody like her you sign up for something that is larger than life, and that's what you want. And that has proven to be the case now. You know part of her role involves fashion. You want Lady Gaga to look a certain way so the designers have been coming out of the woodwork making stuff for us. It's been really, really thrilling, people's reaction to her."

Lady Gaga and Mr. Tony Bennett continue their Cheek to Cheek show with a headlining gig at the Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland. With standing ovations after almost every song, the crowd clapped, cheered and sang along as the duo performed tracks from their latest platinum-selling album.

Before singing one of the many highlights of the night, the French classic "La Vie En Rose," Gaga said a few words about her next album, for the first time publicly. "I can't wait to put out my new record," she told the crowd with a smile.

Lady Gaga and Tony Bennett grace the cover of the newest issue of Ravinia Magazine, which is available for free to audience members at Ravinia, the oldest music festival in the United States. The issue features a beautiful interview the duo did ahead of their two sold-out shows at Ravinia Park, in which they reflect on the success of their album Cheek to Cheek and what the experience of working together has taught them.

Tony Bennett on meeting Gaga:
"I had never heard anything that she did, so after I finished performing, I went in to see what she was doing. She had a huge audience and I couldn't get over how much the public loved her. The reaction was so phenomenal, I thought, 'I've gotta go backstage and say hello to her.' So at the end of her show, I went backstage and her mother and her father were there. When she came out and I said, 'I'm Tony Bennett,' she said, 'Oh my God!' She was thrilled that I had come, and I said, 'You know, you went over so big! I never heard the public love somebody as much as they love you!' And she said, 'Oh, I would do anything to be able to sing with you.' So I said, 'Let's do an album together,' and she said, 'Good, let's do it.'"

Lady Gaga on the power of jazz music:
"They're hit songs and that's what happens These are the true American hits, and you can only pray and hope that your music will stay around as long as the classics. These songs are able to transcend the era they were created in and travel through time into the future and have a life of their own with new experiences and new people. I think this music is extremely powerful; it was created during an emotional time and it stands the test of time. Jazz music was created out of the suffering and the fury of the African-American people as they were struggling to be treated equally. Tony is also such a huge proponent of the civil rights movement, and he was such a major figure during all of that. What's nice to consider when we're at Ravinia and we're performing is that there's that extremely strong history, not just behind the repertoire, but with Tony himself. There is something that is extremely powerful and authentic, and the message is very, very strong still."

Lady Gaga on the Cheek to Cheek show:
"It's a really nice show that is 100 percent focused on the music and 100 percent focused on the relationship between me and Tony and our growth together as friends. I think it's going to be a fantastic show and I think that the people in Ravinia will really, really enjoy it. I'm always excited to connect with all the people that we get to meet in these different communities as we travel and to get to play them these classic records. It's an exciting experience; it's always new and it's always magical. Getting to see them light up as they watch Tony also makes me excited. More than anything, I hope they see the genuine exchange of love between Tony and me. I think it's extremely rare in today's industry for there to be a true, authentic collaboration. Tony and I just adore each other and we adore this music."

Lady Gaga on the success of Cheek to Cheek:
"It's always so exciting to sell records, especially an album that is bridging a 60-year gap between its partners, and I think this music touches just about everyone. Tony and I are just serving the composers and keeping this wonderful music alive. I'm serving Tony in honoring the years and years of dedication that he's had to this music. You have to remember that Tony was making jazz music right when rock 'n' roll was invented, and as soon as [that happened], jazz and its relationship with the public changed because of radio. It's very similar to the things that I deal with today as pop music changes from day to day. Tony had the same experience, so I like to think that it's extremely important that I show the world and my fans as much as possible what it means to have a heart and to be loyal and dedicated to your craft, to not be in it for the money or the fame, but to show them what it is to live a life of dedication to art and beauty, which is Tony Bennett. He really is an incredible man and I hope that my fan base [comes to understand] the power of passion that this man has displayed. And I hope that his fans see that my generation is able to conceive of that hard-working spirit, that ambition and that passion and to celebrate it.

Tony Bennett on working with Gaga:
"When they heard her sing, [they said] she's a great jazz singer! The way she sings, it's never going to sound old-fashioned! She's a great, spontaneous singer and she plays great jazz piano. She's had very good schooling and she knows what she's doing. She was just playing to little teeny boppers, but what I love is when [they picked up the album I did with her], those little teeny boppers had never heard swing music in their life. Those standards never get old, they get better every year! Now, working with Lady Gaga is twice as good as before. She has her audience, I have my audience, and together it's everybody. It's not about the young or the old; it's back to the audience being a family of all different ages."

Lady Gaga on working with Tony:
"Tony has taught me so much. I like people who like to get deep quickly, and I don't like to sit around on the surface for too long with anyone. Tony is just like me and he goes straight to a more emotional, lifechanging conversation. He's interested in touching people's lives, and so am I. He's been through so much. He shared so many amazing life stories with me— amazing stories like his friendship with Duke Ellington—and I'm just extremely honored. Working with Tony, I have realized how young I truly am and how much I have ahead of me. I felt so weary from the business, but he really helped to cure that in me with this music because I was instantly reawakened as my 14-year-old self singing these tunes, and I remembered why I got into music to begin with. Nobody can teach you how to sing jazz— you either got it or you don't. And I'll tell you something, if I couldn't sing jazz, he sure as hell wouldn't be singing with me. He would not have made an album with me. I have a lot of reverence for Tony and he's extremely important to me in my life."

You can read the full cover story by Andy Argyrakis at ravinia.org.

While most of us are celebrating the Supreme Court's historic ruling on marriage equality, which gave gay and lesbian couples the right to marry anywhere in the United States, it is important to acknowledge those who can't join the celebration because they are too young and still in the closet.

That is why at the Cheek to Cheek show in Connecticut on Monday, Lady Gaga decided to dedicate the Billy Strayhorn classic "Lush Life" to LGBT youth.

"I would like to dedicate this song tonight to all the kids that couldn't go out because they were too young," Mother Monster said. "You know, the kids that are like 15, 16 years old that are at home or maybe here, wondering if they are gay, or LGBT, bi-curious. And they want to celebrate Marriage Equality but they don't know how because they haven't told anybody yet. But they're excited because they feel valued. I want this song to be for them."

Gaga's speech was met with a huge roar of appreciation from the sold-out crowd, although quite a few older audience members showed their disappointment and stormed out of the theatre.

Australian rap sensation Iggy Azalea has shared her thoughts on Lady Gaga's controversial 2013 album ARTPOP.

During a Twitter Q&A on Monday, Iggy was asked what she thought of the album, and she replied: "I think it takes guts to just do whatever you want sonically. I'd like to try and have the same big balls for my album." The rapper also revealed that her favorite Gaga song is "Paparazzi."

Iggy has been a longtime Gaga fan, praising her in interviews and social media posts years before her own career took off with "Fancy" in 2014. "I think Lady Gaga is an amazing singer," she tweeted back in 2011. "And 'Telephone' is the best video I've seen in years."

Monsters, do you agree with Iggy's words about ARTPOP?
Turkish police used tear gas and rubber bullets to control disperse gathered in Istanbul on Sunday for the city's annual gay pride parade. According to CNN, the policemen also fired pepper spray and plastic pellets at thousands who showed up to march for equality.

Lady Gaga, who is an outspoken advocate for gay rights worldwide, took to her Twitter account immediately after the news broke, saying: "Istanbul? Who are these 'leaders'? Stop attacking innocent happy people who are celebrating. This is madness! This is inhumane!"

She continued with another message, directed at the Governor of Istanbul, Huseyin Avni Mutlu: "Governor, set an example for people to celebrate both Ramadan and Pride in peace, instead of dividing with violence!"

Last year, Lady Gaga spoke about gay rights in Turkey during her artRAVE show in the country's capital. "I travel the all over world and I know that in some places it is really hard to be gay," she told the crowd. "Sometimes they even say, 'Gaga, be careful what you talk about,' but I don't give a f--k what the say. I wish for all my Turkish gay fans to hold your heads high. Be proud of who you are, you don't have to hide, it's time to rise up!"

Lady Gaga and Tony Bennett continue their massively successful Cheek to Cheek world tour with a sold-out gig at Chicago's Ravinia jazz festival. According to Gaga herself, the concert was the fastest-selling show in the 111-year history of Ravinia.

During the show, Mother Monster dedicated a song to yesterday's historic Supreme Court ruling on marriage equality, which gave gay and lesbian couples the right to marry anywhere in the United States.

"I have to dedicate this song tonight to marriage equality," Gaga told the crowd before singing the Billy Strayhorn classic 'Lush Life.' She continued: "I know it may be a touchy subject, but let's touch it. Because — what a victory, what a special day for love. So this is for you, for fighting. And also for Tony Bennett, who fought for the civil rights of so many."

Gaga couldn't be more right about Mr. Bennett — the 89-year-old musician has been on the right side of history for all of his life, having participated in the historic Selma march with Dr. Martin Luther King in 1965 and helped liberate a Nazi death camp during World War II. In 2007, Tony was honored by the United Nations with its Citizen of the World award in recognition of his activism.

Congratulations, America — marriage equality is now the law of the land across the country! On Friday, the Supreme Court ruled that gay and lesbian couples have the right to marry anywhere in the United States.

Lady Gaga, who has long been an advocate for gay rights, took to her Twitter account shortly after the announcement, saying: "I have traveled the world watching the younger and older generation come together and fight. I feel privileged to have witnessed the LGBT community and supporters shift public consciousness."

She continued: "You never gave up no matter how much shame and fear. How much pain. Time to celebrate and heal. I'm in such awe of you."

Lady Gaga has been a long-time supporter of marriage equality. "Gay marriage is going to happen. It must," Gaga said back in 2012 in response to Pope Benedict's anti-gay comments. "We are not actually equal if we are not allowed to freely love one another. What the Pope thinks of being gay does not matter to the world. It matters to the people who like the Pope and follow the Pope. It is not a reflection of all religious people."

Monsters, how happy are you about the news?
Lady Gaga made a surprise appearance at her best friend's show at a New York City bar. Mother Monster took the stage at the Brian Newman Quartet show at Rockefeller Center's SixtyFive bar to play some of her favorite jazz standards, such as "Orange Colored Sky" and "Bang Bang (My Baby Shot Me Down)."

"It was already pretty crowded when I got to the bar," Max, a Gaga Daily reader, who was lucky enough to be in the audience, told us. "At one point, a girl sitting right in front of me turned around to make eye contact with me, and that's when I realized I was literally two feet from Gaga. She kinda gave me a 'don't give me away' stare, so I didn't say anything but freaked out internally. Halfway into the night, Brian introduced a special guest to join him on the rest of his performances for the night: Gaga, obviously. It was surreal to watch her perform so close. Her voice, of course, was phenomenal. Altogether, she was just having a really good time singing with her friends while hanging with her family and the Haus. It made me really happy to see her so happy and to know that she's surrounded by so much love in her life."
