Lady Gaga and Elton John, who have been close friends for years appear together on the cover of Billboard's "We Can Be Heroes" philanthropy issue. On creating the Born This Way foundation:
This foundation was born from the years I spent watching my fans grow up. Many of them were really young: 11- to 17-year-olds in very tumultuous times. They would tell me their stories -- and many of them were very dark. As I began to care for them and to see myself in them, I felt I had to do something that would remind kids they're not alone. When they feel isolated, that's when it leads to suicide.

On what makes her proudest about Born This Way:
When I see the friendships these kids have built. When I see a child with an eating disorder sit down with somebody who has a lifelong terminal illness and somebody who's in transition -- that makes me feel like we're doing something no one else is. This is my life purpose, this foundation. This is why I was brought to life, I think.

On changing the way she dresses:
There's always a dichotomy within me. If you see me dressing really out there, I tend to be self-deprecating inside. When I dress like a lady, I tend to be feeling very wild and confident. That sounds bizarre, but I get a lot of s--t done with that blond hair. I haven't changed. It's just that I'm almost 30. I'm learning how to function effectively in society.

On "Till It Happens To You":
It's hard to listen to that song, it's hard to watch it. Diane [Warren] really held my hand. I was like, "I've done a lot of things Diane, but can I do this?" She was like, "You can do this." It was extremely cathartic to know that not only am I not alone, but that other men and women aren't alone -- we all have each other. Even outside of rape culture, there are a lot of people silently in pain about extremely traumatic things. 

On her friendship with Elton John:
He inspires me in ways I could not even begin to list properly. He is my friend, he is like a parent. He looks out for me, he was there for me during the hardest times in my life. He doesn't allow me to slip into depression without making sure that I'm OK. Everything he has done for AIDS, everything he has done for the LGBT community. He's just everything -- when I'm with him, I just want to help be a part of his genius plan to save the world. 

Lady Gaga made one little boy's day in Chicago today. The lucky boy was Coltrane, a 2-year-old cool kid from Oakland, California who has Joubert syndrome, a very rare birth defect that affects about 1 in 100,000 children.

Coltrane and his parents are in Chicago for the 2015 Joubert Syndrome Conference, and as they were enjoying the sunny day in the city, they bumped into none other than Mother Monster herself.

"Lady Gaga talked to Coltrane for a few minutes and we got to tell her about Joubert syndrome and the conference this week," Coltrane's father Oscar told Gaga Daily. "I tried to talk calmly while screaming inside. She told us about her Born This Way Foundation. Sweet, charming and genuinely interested, initially approached us about his wheelchair. I was spooning him some Greek yogurt and chatting it up with people sitting by us. I love Lady Gaga and to know she is aware of Joubert syndrome makes me so happy."

The boy's mother, Ayah, added: "We had a good conversation about the genius of John Coltrane, Joubert Syndrome and how people are 'born this way'! Sweetest lady, that Mother Monster."

Joubert syndrome is a rare genetic disorder characterized by the absence or underdevelopment of the area of the brain that controls muscle coordination. After taking a dip into frigid Lake Michigan waters to raise money for Chicago's Special Olympics on Sunday, Lady Gaga was spotted enjoying a hockey game with her fiancé Taylor Kinney. During the second period of the game between the Chicago Blackhawks and Detroit Red Wings, the couple were featured the "Kiss Cam" as Gaga's hit song "Applause" played in the background.

Lady Gaga stopped by the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon to talk about her role on the new season American Horror Story, her fiancé Taylor Kinney, and more on Tuesday night. It is Gaga's third appearance on the popular show, but first as a lead interview guest.

Gaga's visit comes one day before the premiere of American Horror Story: Hotel, which marks her television acting debut. "I worked really hard on it and I completely committed to the role and I'm not doing anything else while doing Horror Story," she told Jimmy. "What I would say about this season is that there is a very interesting exploration of themes of addiction and survival, and how we as people nowadays kind of isolated ourselves from one another. We don't communicate the same way, there's not as much human interaction. As a result, there's this really strange world that Ryan has created of these very narcissistic characters that are all trying to survive in their own way."

American Horror Story: Hotel premieres on October 7th on FX.

Lady Gaga, who is back in New York City to put the final touches on her highly-anticipated new album, stopped by Gramercy Park Hotel's Rose Bar on Tuesday night for a surprise performance with her friend Brian Newman and his band. Dressed down in an all-black YSL outfit, Mother Monster took the stage to sing some of her favorite jazz standards, including "La Vie En Rose" and "I Can't Give You Anything But Love." Lady Gaga wowed the crowd when she played an hour-long set of jazz standards at the annual amfAR Inspiration Gala on Thursday night in Los Angeles. The event honored Ryan Murphy for his impact on the television and film industry, as well as his work to fight AIDS.

"I love Ryan so much, and I'm so, so happy to be here. He's really my friend and he's a wonderful person," said Gaga, who stars in the latest season of Murphy's show American Horror Story. She added: "Since I met Ryan, I have rediscovered something in myself, and it's my favorite part of me so thank you. I think it's because you appreciate the part of me my Christian guilt is mortified by."

Mother Monster played a handful of jazz classics, including "I Can’t Give You Anything But Love," "Little Coquette," "Bewitched, Bothered and Bewildered," "Bang Bang (My Baby Shot Me Down)," "Lush Life," "Call Me Irresponsible," and "La Vie En Rose." 

Lady Gaga finished her set with a performance of her emotional ballad "Til It Happens To You," telling the crowd simply, "We're all in this together."

This year's amfAR Gala raised over $3 million toward HIV/AIDS research. Lady Gaga contributed to the total by bidding a winning $200,000 on a photograph of Elizabeth Taylor taken in 2001.

The fourth episode of American Horror Story: Hotel starring Lady Gaga aired on FX on Wednesday night! The Halloween episode, titled "Devil's Night," features a dinner party with some of the biggest serial killers of all time, including Aileen Wuornos played by Lily Rabe.

Lady Gaga has received a nomination at the 20th Annual Satellite Awards! Gaga is up for an "Actress in a Drama Series" award for her role as The Countess on the latest season of American Horror Story. The other nominees include: Tatiana Maslany (Orphan Black), Taraji P. Henson (Empire), Robin Wright (House of Cards), Kirsten Dunst (Fargo), Felicity Huffman (American Crime), and Claire Danes (Homeland).

Given out by the International Press Academy, which is composed of professional entertainment journalists, the Satellite Awards honour the year’s outstanding performers, films, and television shows. This year's award ceremony will take place on Sunday, February 21st in Los Angeles.

Ryan Murphy has spilled fresh details about the first episode of the upcoming season of American Horror Story: Hotel starring Lady Gaga. Speaking to ET Online on the red carpet at the 67th Emmy Awards, he revealed that Gaga's first scene on the show is long, bloody, and epic.

"She's the best! I have to say, she's one of the great professional joys in my life," Murphy said. "She has been such a team player, the cast and crew is obsessed with her. Her performance is amazing. She's a great actress. She's the kind of actress that shows up two hours early. She's very, very committed."

He continued: "Her introduction is a six-minute [scene], almost like a silent movie with no dialogue, and lots of blood and nudity. We started shooting on one of our first days, and you always want to throw people in with an easy scene and she said, 'No, let's go for it.' So, it's pretty phenomenal and I think she'll surprise, in a great way, a lot of people."

American Horror Story: Hotel debuts on October 7th.

Lady Gaga performed two new songs from her brand new album Joanne on this week's episode of Saturday Night Live! The Super Bowl LI Halftime Show headliner started the night off with an energetic performance of "A-YO" accompanied by her friends Mark Ronson and Brian Newman. The 88th Academy Awards took place on Sunday night in Los Angeles. During the show, Lady Gaga performed a powerful rendition of "Til It Happens to You" to a standing ovation.

Lady Gaga's brand new single "Perfect Illusion" is a dance floor anthem about a troubled relationship, iHeartRadio reports exclusively. Mother Monster gave the radio station the first listen to her upcoming single and explained the inspiration behind the track during her appearance at iHeartRadio HQ in New York City on Wednesday.

"The song is about modern ecstasy. We found our sweet, simple, ragey way of saying it," Gaga said of the anthem she co-produced with Mark Ronson and Tame Impala's Kevin Parker. "I get this sick adrenaline rush every time I hear it."

iHeart also took to their Twitter account to answer fans' questions about the new track and if their words are anything to go by, we're about to hear one of Gaga's best songs ever. "We were humming it all day," the station tweeted. "We only got to hear it once, but it was really, really good. Probably new favourite lead single, but we still love all of those too."

"I don't think there's a comparison that would make sense," a writer for iHeart Radio added when asked if "Perfect Illusion" reminded them of any other Gaga song. "It's in its own lane, but still feels right at home."

Warner Bros. has set a release date for Bradley Cooper's A Star Is Born starring Lady Gaga. The movie, based on the 1937 film starring Janet Gaynor and Fredric March, will hit theaters on September 28th, 2018.

A Star Is Born marks Cooper's directorial debut, as well as Lady Gaga's first major role in a feature film. Gaga will also compose and perform new music for the movie, which centers on a movie star who helps an aspiring young actress find fame.

"Bradley is a professional, he's a household human being in every way," Gaga told Howard Stern of working with Cooper. "I can't even begin to tell you the level of professionalism I experience with him working. I think more than anything that we have a very honest and authentic relationship. We're really friends."

Filming for the movie is set to begin early next year.

Lady Gaga surprised her New York City fans on Wednesday night when she stopped by the Fatcat Bar to chat about Donald Trump's stunning win in the U.S. Presidential election. According to the fans, Gaga spent about an hour chatting about what Trump's victory means for the country while playing ping pong and eating pizza.

"It was a very low-key event, Gaga was talking to fans like old friends to help feel a little comfort after the upsetting election that just unfolded in our country," a lucky fan Hunter told Gaga Daily, while another reader Muhammad added: "Spending time with friends was all that we needed after the dreadful presidential election. Everyone was discussing the election and how we all need to stay positive and not be in fear. Every individual in the room symbolized hope and strength, which we all need for the coming future."

Lady Gaga has been a very vocal critic of Donald Trump during and after the election. "The chaos in the USA is the result of Trump's irresponsible campaigning," she said of the protests that burst out across the country on Wednesday night. "He is not a role model, look at this mess he created."

On Tuesday, the singer was photographed standing proudly outside Trump Tower holding up a sign which read, "Love Trumps Hate."

Diane Warren and Lady Gaga have written a new song together! Speaking to MusicWeek, the legendary songwriter revealed that the two penned a second track, following the critically-acclaimed "Til It Happens to You."

"I'm not against co-writing with an artist," Warren, who is known for writing songs entirely on her own, said. "I wrote something with Lady Gaga that’s coming this year. So, every now and then, I’ll write with somebody. But I won’t get in those rooms. I won't go to a writing camp and sit with five people on a track."

We can exclusively confirm that the track will be featured on the soundtrack for Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper's highly-anticipated remake of A Star Is Born. 

Gaga and Warren first collaborated in 2015 on "Til It Happens to You," a powerful song about sexual assault on college campuses across the United States. The song received universal critical acclaim and won an Emmy Award for Best Original Music and Lyrics. The track also earned an Oscar nomination, but lost to Sam Smith's James Bond theme song.

Diane Warren has one of the longest and most successful careers in pop songwriting. She's responsible for such iconic hits as Aerosmith's "I Don't Want to Miss a Thing," Celine Dion's "Because You Loved Me," Toni Braxton's "Un-break My Heart," Cher's "If I Could Turn Back Time," Ace of Base's "Don't Turn Around," Christina Aguilera's "I Turn to You," LeAnn Rimes's "Can't Fight the Moonlight" and many more.

Lady Gaga and seven-time Oscar nominee Diane Warren sat down with The Hollywood Reporter's Scott Feinberg for a chat about their latest song "Til It Happens to You," which is a favorite to receive an Academy Award nomination next week. Gaga also spoke about the music industry, her past work, the impact of "Born This Way," and so much more during a must-listen hour-long interview.

On hearing a Diane Warren song for the first time:
"I Don't Wanna Miss a Thing." That's how I learned about Diane Warren. I was so blown away by that song at at a really young age and it made me cry every time. That was the song. I mean, what a tremendous song and it was sung so well by Steven Tyler. It's one of those moments that changes your perspective about music forever.

On the impact of "Born This Way":
I watched throngs and throngs of the LGBT community at my shows come together before they were 18 years old and decide that they were going to change things. People don't understand it because they don't know the extent to which I witnessed those kids' lives changing. What that song did, if anything, is forced people and the radio to play the words "gay," "straight," "bi," "transgender," you know? That was the first time that word was ever on the radio ever in the history of America. And I just wanted it to be there, I didn't care how, or why. 

On Donald Trump:
Networks are not being held responsible for curating the news, curating how we see things, they're catering to ratings. It scares me because young people and older people in America who maybe haven't thought too long and hard about why Donald Trump is running, they look at this and go "Oh, I've been seeing him everywhere, so he must be important." But the truth is, the reason that so many politicians are on TV is because it makes money, not because it's good for America.

On the music business:
One of the scariest things about this business — and what's crazy — is that the bigger that you get, you start to realize that sometimes, when you shake people's hands, you're making other people money. You know? There's so much business going on around you, and people are in the business of you, and you don't even know. You become a product and then you have to sort of go, "Who's selling me today? Is it you?" And some people never figure it out and what happens is they are rotting in a hole of people that are just taking off the top.

Lady Gaga has just been announced as a performer at this year's Academy Awards! Mother Monster will take the Oscars stage for a second year in a row to perform her latest single "Til It Happens to You," which is among the nominees for "Best Original Song."

88th Academy Awards will take place on February 28th at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, California.

Lady Gaga and the Brian Newman quintet performed at a V Magazine party on Wednesday night! Gaga took the stage at New York City's Rainbow Room with her Rivington Rebels friends for an hour-long set, which included her favorite classics such as "Let's Face the Music and Dance" and "La Vie en Rose."

"Right before we started to sing, Newman leaned over and gave me a ring from him and the guys," Gaga told fans after the party. "I had so many martinis I could barely make out the image until he whispered: 'It's an iron maiden.' I don't know what I did to deserve such wonderful friends but I man do I love you all so much. Thank you for making me feel so loved and special."

Lady Gaga took the stage at the annual Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival on Saturday night for a special one-hour performance, created exclusively for the show. Gaga made as the first woman to headline Coachella in a decade, as Björk was the last female performer to do so in 2007.

Chicago Fire star and Lady Gaga's fiancé Taylor Kinney graces the cover of The Men's issue of Chicago Tribune Magazine, on newsstands next month. In the cover interview, he talks about fashion, his career and getting engaged to Gaga.

"I just knew. It wasn't a lightbulb going off," he said of the proposal, adding, "It was in Manhattan. It was snowing, it was beautiful."

Lady Gaga and Taylor Kinney got engaged on Valentine's Day this year, after being together for more than three years. "It makes everything better," Gaga said. "When you’re in love and have love it makes everything better. From the moment I met him, my heart was with him."

The crowd at New York City's Madison Square Garden on Saturday night were in for a surprise when Lady Gaga joined U2 on stage and performed a song with the legendary rock band. Lady Gaga kicked off her highly-anticipated Joanne World Tour in Vancouver, Canada on Tuesday night and set Twitter ablaze with fans praising the show's insane production, its satisfying set list, which represented each of Gaga's albums, and, of course, the singer's vocal talent and stage presence. Little Monsters, however, weren't the only ones who enjoyed the tour's opening night, as the show received rave reviews from the critics.

Marsha Lederman of Canada's The Globe and Mail called the show's production "jaw-dropping, eyebrow-raising, stunning and seamless, with intricate choreography along with pyrotechnics, and a complex, ingenious design" while Carly Mallenbaum from USA Today wrote that Gaga's voice sounded "pitch-perfect."

In his live review for the Vancouver Sun, journalist Stuart Derdeyn said that the show had "a lot of great examples of how to change costumes and keep crowd engaged," adding: "Two hours very well spent and one of the best concert endings of any major arena."

Robert Collins from CTV Vancouver felt that the concert was "bursting with ideas and emotion," and wrote, "Perhaps pop music in 2017 has better singers, dancers and even all-around entertainers. But it doesn’t have anyone producing more interesting art than Lady Gaga."

Lady Gaga kicked off her second Las Vegas show, titled Jazz & Piano, to a sold-out crowd at Park Theatre in Las Vegas on Sunday night. Joined by an orchestra and her friend Brian Newman's band, Gaga performed a two-hour set of her favorite jazz standards, including "Luck Be a Lady" and "Call Me Irresponsible," as well as acoustic versions of her iconic hits such as "Poker Face," "Bad Romance," and "Born This Way."

During the show, Gaga wore four outfits, including a black dress designed by her sister Natali Germanotta for the opening act, and was joined by surprise guest Tony Bennett for a performance of "Lady Is A Tramp" and "Cheek to Cheek."
