After āBarbenheimerā rocked the 2023 theatrical release calendar, what will keep the moviegoing momentum pushing forward next year? Consumers gave some indication in an annual survey from online ticketing giant Fandango, whose users voted on their most anticipated films of 2024. The ranking discusses films at large and drills down into genres and individual performances. āDeadpool 3,ā which will team foulmouthed hero Ryan Reynolds with longtime faux-nemesis Hugh Jackman as his X-Men character Wolverine, comes in at number one. Close behind is Tim Burtonās long-gestating sequel to āBeetlejuice,ā which reunites Winona Ryder with Michael Keaton and introduces āWednesdayā star Jenna Ortega to the cinematic family. āGhostbusters: Frozen Empire,ā āDune: Part Two,ā āVenom 3ā and āDespicable Me 4ā also rate on the list. When asked which performance audiences were most looking forward to, the majority answered Lady Gaga. The superstar will join Joaquin Phoenix and Todd Phillips for the sequel to the blockbuster āJoker,ā playing the iconic Harley Quinn in āFolie Ć Deux.ā Read more from the Fandango survey: Most Anticipated New Performances on the Big Screen: Lady Gaga as Harley Quinn in Joker: Folie Ć Deux Jenna Ortega in Beetlejuice 2 Ariana Grande as Glinda in Wicked Part 1 Chris Pratt as Garfieldā in the new Garfield Movie Pedro Pascal in Gladiator 2 Most Anticipated Villains: Michael Keaton as Beetlejuice in Beetlejuice 2 Lady Gaga as Harley Quinn in Joker: Folie Ć Deux Joaquin Phoenix as Arthur Fleck in Joker: Folie Ć Deux The Aliens from A Quiet Place: Day One Austin Butler as Feyd-Rautha in Dune: Part Two Most Anticipated Superhero Movies: Deadpool 3 Venom 3 Joker: Folie Ć Deux Transformers One Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire https://variety.com/2023/film/news/deadpool-3-beetlejuice-2-joker-folie-a-deux-most-anticipated-movies-2024-1235838450/32 points

If i read that correctly the contest involves buying all 4 copies Stuff like that is manipulative to charts and i cant blame billboard here The only thing id criticize billboard here is not being more consistent. Other shady stunts to chart higher in the past by others went ignored and should have also been called out24 points

These two are at it again Cardi went off on her husband after āhe cheated on herā: To which Nicki posted the following (For context, Offset has been cosplaying MJ for his performances, etc) And of course, Cardi wasnāt going to let that slideā¦16 points

At first I quickly skipped through the album to find some duplicates of starships or superbass.. there was nothing. Even as a rap album there is nothing memorable on the album like anaconda or chun li. What went wrong?10 points

The problem isnāt the variants. Billboard is not arguing that. The problem is her offering 100 select fans the chance to come see her in the studio if they prove they bought 8 versions of the album (4 physical, 4 digital). Billboard considers this bribery. Variants were never the problem, itās the baiting fans into mass buying by promising exclusive perks that are not available to all fans. Taylor for example did offer pre-sale access for album purchases, but there was no exclusion. If you bought you got access period end of. With Nicki, you could buy those 8 versions and still not be one of the 100 selected.7 points

The fact that she was in need of some PR damage control from Scooter is so funny to meIf anyone has heard her song 'Fantasize', it only adds to the homewrecker accusations. That and BWYGIB of course.7 points

I love Cardi but she has got to STOP posting out all her drama on the internet and responding to any rumors as well Sheās been doing this ever since she got famous with her music and it always gets her stressed af. I really hope she takes time away from social media. As for Nicki and her immature ass, each and every day you keep ruining your legacy. So tired of her. Iāll keep on streaming her music by sailing the high seas š“āā ļø cause she donāt deserve sh*t with her loser r*p*st husband.4 points

fr it honestly sickens me going on twitter and seeing the vile things so called LMs will say about gaga and her team while still claiming to be fans4 points

I've been saying for years that it's stan Twitter (and crazy, demanding, stans in general) who are to blame for Gaga leaving and deciding to have no part on social media. Because back when things were newer, and less mental people were on there, she used to love being active. But the more crazy, obsessed stan culture grew the more she pulled back4 points

Both are the two Chromatica greats, but Enigma is sooooo superior for me. Itās the only song that lyrically is otherworldly on Chromatica, the only real escape from reality. She claims āwe could be anything!ā While singing about dragons eyes, mysterious men and phantom women, when all She needs is something more to believe in. At its core, its 90s house with a pounding kick drum, soaring vocals, relentless bass line, and groovy disco violins. The more you listen the better it gets. Replay may give the instant gratification yāall (and me occasionally) are searching for, but Enigma is the heart of Chromatica.4 points

Honestly, the word within film circles was that the production was very messy. Nothing has been confirmed but insiders were reporting that the story changed so many times in the pre-production stages and that even in the midst of principal photography, things were still constantly shifting. Add into it the decision to edit as it was shot and to release it the same year as filming and you were left with a film that had no real identity to begin with and a filmmaker who couldn't give it one as he was making it. The whole thing was very ill advised from top to bottom. The screenplay was confusing, the tone was never decided upon, and the cast seemed to all think they were starring in a completely different movie than their co-stars. It was an interesting experiment, but it's tough to not call the whole thing a fairly all around failure.3 points

I appreciate the optimism but Monsters absolutely expected an Oscsr winning masterpiece and even still expected her to get an Oscar nomination after it came out. Maybe some paying attention saw the writing on the wall but the vast majority of fans ended up with egg on their face when the film actually came out and were in denial for quite some time.3 points
-
Well yeah, I guess I meant why not sign shorter contracts where artists renegotiate before/after every release or something? It'd prevent situations like Kesha being tied to Dr. Luke for so long or Ariana being tied to Scooter for "years to come" Sign for an album, resign for the next album if it went well. If not, sign with someone else or make a different deal or something. These artists seem to just sell their souls3 points
