  6. Doesn't seem very reliable considering how over-dramatic they made the whole thing. It reeks of clickbait. If real... Not cool to out someone like that. Especially not when you know that the person in question spent years hiding it, for any reason.

  11. It's quite sad that we're at this point where we have to pretend future projects won't even happen. It's like this fanbase has lost trust in her. Although saying that I don't really think it's Gaga's fault as such, it's probably her team that are the problem here

  12. Billie had pretty popular EP before that and was known. SOUR is good but not THAT good and Olivia was famous before too. Gaga came out of nowhere with fresh ideas, risky and different sounding songs and the whole persona. Of course The Fame should be higher. and where's Born to Die?
    11 points
  13. Hey Billie, try telling that to male clients of mine who have dealt with severe body dysmorphia? I’m really so tired of this continuous narrative that in order to highlight someone else’s struggles, we have to completely disregard another group or invent a reality where it ā€˜never happens’. People, in general, go through varying degrees of this every single day. Can we please stop this constant ā€˜us versus them’ game with every single issue.

  14. Hmm I agree that men are given more lenience when it comes to body standards but there are still a lot of body expectations for men and men are definitely criticized for their bodies

  15. I hope Gaga Thoughts makes the most sense for this... As some of the OGs know, I was often known around here as a GGD audio editor. In my more recent years, I've established myself as a DJ around New York City and am so very excited to announce that I'm spinning a night of all Gaga this upcoming Thursday. https://www.instagram.com/p/CzTrfYou1fd/?igshid=MzRlODBiNWFlZA== I only post this here because this one is for the truest of true Little Monsters! No era is off limits! Get ready to experience from Red and Blue to Chromatica, Unreleased, Remixes, Tour Mixes, Demos... This whole nine yards! Anyways, if anyone happens to be around and looking for a thrill, stop on over ā¤ļøšŸ¤— Any questions, let me know!

  17. Huge disagree on that and it always gives me the ick when people like to pretend men don't face problems. There's a reason suicide rates among men are 4x higher than women. People minimize men's struggles.

  18. If Gaga starts deliberately writing songs that appeal to ages 5 thru 85, with safe vanilla kidzbop lyrics (that means no mention of drug use or lyrics like "Driver roll up the partition please, I don't need you seeing Gaga on her knees) and follows the merch bundle blueprint below in ways that are allowed by Billboard... could she sell a s*** ton as well? Or would Lil Monsters see she's only manipulating them to do big numbers? Maybe Gaga would win AOTY as well. Yes, sometimes they give AOTY to a relatively unknown artist or person of color, but with the industry being dead sales-wise, these past few years the Grammys seem to love to REWARD those that sell really well with AOTY (like Taylor and Adele and Harry).

  19. She can't just announce something and then "move on", that's not fair.
    7 points
  20. No. Her streams are not strong enough, nor does she have a fan base strong enough to deliver great sales. Just remember the meltdowns over how low Stupid Love's physical sales were I would consider anything above 400k a big success for Gaga.

  22. Absolutely false. Men get judged for things out of their control such as their height and penis size, and society mocks and laughs with those doing it. Both sexes have societal pressures. The only thing I will say is for men, even though standards are uncomfortable etc it’s not COMPLETELY tied to a man’s self worth SOLELY because men are seen above women. So in that aspect, women do seem to be treated worse. And they seem to care more. But to say women are nice etc. is just incorrect.

  23. Ah yes, a homeschooled woman knows exacly how men and their bodies are treated. So glad she could clear that up for us.

  24. Oh honey... Girls may be nice, but gays are a whole different topic. Also, I'm gonna call BS because I've heard and been part of several conversations with women that point to the contrary (and let's be honest, women are the ones that criticize other women the most). On a society level though, there's some truth to it. Then again, the "perfect male body" pushed by industires is still unhealthy to a deegree, but our machist societies taught men to supress their feelings so there's no talk about that. That even impacts the diagnosis of body image related issues, such as eating disorders: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC6785984/ some excerpts I found interesting: "As briefly mentioned earlier, the male body ideal typically features a dual focus on a drive for both muscularity and leanness (ie, low body fat). This distinct male ideal offers unique consequences for patterns in ED behaviors and attitudes. For instance, males may be motivated to pursue rigid eating or exercise routines, as well as the use of appearance-enhancing or performance-enhancing drugs (eg, anabolic steroids) to achieve a muscular body idea. Males also endorse a drive for thinness (as females might also report a desire for muscularity) but among males, muscular-oriented disordered eating is considerably more common" "Although much of the empirical evidence for these practices is nascent, up to 60% of all boys in the United States report purposefully manipulating their diet in striving for greater muscularity, suggesting salient links between muscularity orientation and ED pathology." "Over several decades, evidence has accumulated in support of an association between sexual orientation and ED symptoms in adults, particularly in men, and in adolescent males. In examination of trends over time in eating pathology among adolescent sexual minority subgroups, although notably improved compared with sexual minority females, males continue to report higher prevalence of purging, using diet pills, and fasting to lose weight compared with their heterosexual counterparts." "Moving both within and beyond a long history whereby men are consistently marginalized in screening, treatment, and research of EDs, there are several areas that receive the greatest impact from the traditionally held female-centric ED framework. One of these domains is treatment seeking, or what some have referred to as ā€œhelp seeking.ā€ Lack of insight, denial, shame, and secrecy are all factors that have an impact on willingness to seek treatment of EDs across the sexes. However, this influence may be greater among males, given perceived stigma associated with disclosure of mental health issues." " Particularly as epidemiologic studies indicate that EDs among males are advancing equally or perhaps even more quickly than among females, it is essential that the thinness-oriented body image characteristic of a traditional ED framework be re-evaluated and adjusted."

  27. I'll give it a chance and see how it grows, but am I the only one who's tired of the celebrity cosmetic brands? Whether that be skincare or makeup. I'm getting bold here, yeah. Sometimes I just feel like they have no idea what they're doing or advertising.

  28. I can already picture it: a Shelbourne X Haus Labs collection, named The Serve Collection, with a new Gaga X Adele song (Dinner wbk) and a MV that’ll basically be a 3-minute AD for the products

  29. She has no idea what she is talking about, men are constantly ridiculed for their looks. The only difference is that we have to laugh it off and pretend it doesn't effect us. Wait, actually we have it worse...

  30. I disagree , so many men have ED it’s not even funny , and not talking about gays only. Straight gym culture is FULL of ED

  33. Who's Luxx Noir? Also regarding the TCB, yes it's a shame it's taken this long, but overall some fans really do need to change their perspective sometimes. The general public won't care that a concert film comes out a year after it officially wrapped up.

  34. She's generalising a lot and the statement is very heteronormative but she's very right. How many times have you seen a hopeless slob of a manchild dating the most gorgeous, kind, caring woman? Women are often happy to date well below their level but men almost always bat above their own. There are literal studies done on this The only issue is it sounds like men don't ever get scrutinised for their bodies which I can tell you from personal experience is very wrong. Although tbh... almost all the bullying I received over my body was from other guys, whereas girls were almost always supportive and kind so... I guess that still tracks

  37. this song is ridiculously catchy, I cannot stop playing it it's such an ear worm and the production is just fantastic. sure, it's Dua's 70s inspired sound we're used to but it's more psychedelic and hypnotic than anything on Future Nostalgia. This is a shoe-in for her first #1 on the Hot 100 imo. The video is great too. I saw it playing at every bar I went to over the weekend, all of my friends were talking about it. Houdini is a smash incoming

  38. The album only went #1 on iTunes, where you need like 2 sales to chart. The sales were so low that it didn’t even enter the Billboard 200, not even at #200. 40 leftover songs is normal, Gaga probably has that many for most of her albums. She said she wrote 50-100 for Chromatica, for example. SZA Reveals She Recorded ā€˜A Hundred’ Songs for Sophomore Album Nelly Furtado teases new music: ā€˜I’ve recorded a hundred songs in the last 18 months’ Dua Lipa wrote 97 songs for her upcoming album
