What was she going to do? Ignore them when they greeted her? And these are children whose actions are independent of their father's. She's being fair and she did the right thing by being polite and respectful without necessarily intending to work with him further.

The reality is that so many people in our immediate vicinities have views exactly like this and worse, they just don’t always vocalize it. Be wary of people. Often times those same people & their defenders will use the fallacy of “oh, everyone has the right to their opinions, respect everyone no matter what, every human deserves love”, like no, they don’t. Some people are genuinely bad, harmful people with evil intent and addictions to malice. Not everyone deserves respect and love, and here is a prime example of that. Him openly stating this, especially in this specific way referring to her as essentially a disobedient animal, is only the surface of what people like him actually believe and how they move through life. It’s truly sickening.

This is not a meltdown, I'm just self pontificating. Depending on what will or won't happen on the 11th, it will let me know if I should definitely let go of that small part of me that is still obsessing over her early work. If she does not have the will to honor her music and legacy anymore - I would respect that, but it will be time for me to move on from that unrealistic obsession I still cling to. Which might be a good thing, all things considered. I'll still love and support her for as long as I live, but with a different mindset.
