  1. What was she going to do? Ignore them when they greeted her? And these are children whose actions are independent of their father's. She's being fair and she did the right thing by being polite and respectful without necessarily intending to work with him further.

  5. All this proves is that her best days are behind her and she would not be the commercial juggernaut she is without the gimmick of the re-releases. Taylor has sales and that's it. When artists like Ed Sheeran, Morgan Wallen or even BTS do crazy numbers we think it's weird and we don't get the appeal. This is the same thing, and that's what you guys don't understand. You expect us to conflate sales with quality/impact/legendary status but the math ain't mathing because nothing about Taylor justifies that. She is succeeding because her music is a bland commodity easily digested by and appealing to the lowest common denominator, because she has an artificially high prolificacy thanks to the re-releases and because she has succeeded in creating a highly engaged teenage girl incel fanbase. Not because she is "the best," and not because she is extraordinary in any way. She is never touching the Beatles, MJ, Madonna or any real legend, and no one will ever think of her that way. But enjoy her numbers. And preferably, enjoy them in a Taylor Charts thread so you all can circle j*rk in there without the rest of us needing to see it.

  7. I'm all here for Taylor's success but I real think that charts should be only for official released singles

  8. Bad Romance and it’s not even close. Applause is an interesting piece of ephemera (probably a bit too self-referential) that functions better in the performance art of the era of ARTPOP than it does within the broader context of her catalogue, imo.

  11. You need to go outside and touch some grass. Imagine being that bothered. Why waste energy in a thread? You clearly don’t care for Taylor and that’s ok. Save that energy, focus on something else.

  12. I love how aggravated some people get when it comes to Taylor’s success. It’s almost like because she’s a basic relatable white girl that doesn’t dress over-the-top, throw her ass and tits around or release controversial content, that she’s undeserving.

  13. New GGD challenge: Let's go a full Taylor Swift thread without blatant misogyny.

  14. It is a narrative though. One ultimately rooted in attacking a woman for daring to be more successful than other women. Particularly funny is the idea that one woman does it the right way while the other does not. Vinyl & CD variants have always been a thing since music became a physical sellable product. For example: Bridge Over Troubled Water - one of the biggest songs of the 70s and one of the most famous singles ever released. In the year it came out, the album had a mono LP/Stereo LP/ 3 different 8 tracks, a casette & a club edition LP. Don't see anyone out there critcising people talking about how many records Simon & Garfunkel sold?

  18. The amount of smugness in this thread is absurd. Taylor stans Gaga, and I thought we were all about queens supporting queens? The Taylor hate is so blasé at this point.

  22. no this fr, like this community is so weirdly toxic and for being a fan of someone who literally tells u "hey, i dont like the pitting women against each other" YALL HAVE SOME V DIRTY EARS to not listen to fking lady gaga herself when she says hey stop the drama, start the music like plain and simple, u dont like taylor u dont listen, but to take energy and time to actively show distaste or dissatisfaction for someone who is clearly doing well is such dumb hater behavior

  24. But she did 1.578 million debut with Midnights, which was a standard album release - and this is the only release she's had to top that. So what is the truth?

  30. Bad Romance is superior on a level that I didn’t even know was worth questioning. Applause is to me like Stupid Love is to y’all, aka a bad choice for a lead single among better options

  31. I think many of her songs top Bad Romance, for instance: Applause Dance In The Dark The entire Born This Way album many songs on Chromatica plus, i know many of you would disagree but the production of Hey Girl is superb.

  34. During Katy's final show part of her Las Vegas residency Play, Perry's 3-year-old daughter made her first public appearance when she appeared onscreen "Daisy! I love you so much," Perry said, as seen in fan-captured footage . "You're my best friend, I'm so glad you're here." source At another point during the show, as Perry was about to close out her final Vegas residency performance, Katy shouted out everyone who made Play the program it became — including Daisy. In a video also shared by an audience member, the singer paid tribute to Orlando Bloom for being "an incredible support system" and "an amazing father." Perry then turned her attention to their little girl, stating, "I created this show after the birth of my daughter, Daisy Dove." "When I met her, it was like all the love I was ever searching for finally showed up. She made me whole, and she healed me, and she showed me how to play again," she continued. "So this show is for everyone's inner child and for the hope that maybe if we could all see life through the eyes of a child, we would be free."

  38. To be fair, I think these days are past us in general, except maybe Taylor/people who just see the numbers and records. the pop girlies are all grown up now and rather do a record every now and then with a couple of shows or residencies I feel, and im kinda okay with it 😅
