1989 (Taylor's Version)' to debut at #1 on the Billboard 200 with 1.586 million units. It's predicted to earn the biggest debut of Taylor's career, surpassing 'Midnights' (via @HITSDD). https://m.hitsdailydouble.com/news&id=338280&title=TOP-50%3A-SWIFT-DOES-IT-AGAIN https://x.com/chartdata/status/1720543576457654524?s=46&t=X2xVts2Dz3OuRMU_k9uq4A15 points

https://youtu.be/vAVgwA9Gx1A?si=Dnuyhu7NyBlsx-ZC Lady Gaga gave a very tearful rendition of "Dope" on November 3rd 2013 at the YouTube Music Awards. At the time it was assumed that it was just a sad song for her, but in reality it was because Troy left her. He told all media that she left him over creative differences, but it wouldn't be until a late 2014 interview that Lady Gaga revealed that the opposite happened. This opened a rabbit hole for fans in which it was found out that Troy Carter had allegedly done multiple bad things in his time as her manager and even after. From accusations of sabatoging her 2012 Grammy nominations to even making it harder to access her music on Spotify in 2018 when he got a major role in the platform, many realized that the split was for the better. Lady Gaga has since recovered her success without him at the helm. ---- If you ever see this Troy, know that we have not forgotten your horrible actions and never will. You (along with others on her team) caused her so much hate in 2013-2014. From interviews it would not surprise me one bit if you had allegedly created multiple workman's comp violations in your time as her manager. She became very successful once more without you. Remember that.11 points

He posted on his Insta stories asking "where is the big 10 year in Chicago happening?" with a Koons ball and ARTPOP playing as the song. I think he is just as lost with what's going on as the rest of us are This sites about to have nuclear level meltdowns when we get literally nothing10 points

The amount of hate this album gets still blows my mind, it’s one of Gaga’s best and definitely in top 3 albums she’s made. I do think it all comes down to taste with fans and where people come from. I LOVE the celebration of House music in this album and it’s done respectfully, it’s a big genre here in the UK which is probably why I love it. I think people want to just hear crazy production all the time but sometimes it’s nice to have a simple and easy enjoyable album to listen to. Chromatica has the vibe and energy that you can dance to and it’s a real Dance album.10 points

The song finally gets visuals after 65 years! She was only 13 when she recorded it in 1958! Mariah better watch ha back this year!8 points

People in here arguing about her vinyl variants when The Rolling Stones just put out 46 for their album and didn't even come close to her sales. It's almost as if you can put out as many variants as you want but if people aren't willing to buy them it doesn't matter.8 points

Guys even if there was 1 version of the album you’d be lying to yourself if you thought it wouldn’t sell insanely well. She’s been pulling these kind of numbers since her inception. Please can we just be happy or neutral. Trying to pinpoint or undermine her success is delusional at this point. A lot of people love her music, it’s not that hard to understand.8 points

I don't understand what fans mean when they say this. It's one of her best produced albums.8 points

totally agree its her best album. i think its lowkey insulting when people reduce house music to "cheap" it's just pretty musically un-intelligent8 points

Her UK numbers are officially in - more than double the opening week of the original 1989 release. Fastest selling record of 2023 in the UK. Only album released in 2023 to go Gold in a single week of sales in the UK. 1 number 1 album away from matching Madonna's record (as a female act) of 12 number 1 albums. Biggest selling record this week on vinyl. 3 tracks debuted in the top 10. All 3 Top 10 debuts are from the vault not rerecorded tracks. Is it over now? at Number 1, Now that We Don't Talk at number 2 & Slut! at 5. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-67311637 Article also states that her US vinyl sales for 1989 this week is the largest week for a single album on vinyl since modern sales tracking began in 1991 (wouldn't it have been ironic if the tracking began 2 years earlier). Think we all have to accept that 1989 is forever going to be a Hall of Fame level album.7 points

- Enigma is top 10 in her discography - Stupid Love is underrated and deserved more love from the fans - Sine From Above would be better without Elton John7 points

Love her (I do) or not.. it’s cool to see an artist in the midst of creating their legacy. We’re all going to look back and tell the next generations what it was like to witness all of this. Not even just Taylor for that matter. We’re living in a really cool time in terms of music artists5 points
-
He never said there weren't other options to buy. I think the point is other artists had way more variants and only sold a portion of what Taylor is selling. So having more variants doesn't mean more sales. In the end that's up to the fans. I don't see why there always has to be someone trying to undercut Taylor's succes. I do feel like this thread is a bit early tho. Official numbers come Sunday. Still if she surpasses Midnights first week come Sunday it will be very impressive. Makes you think if she can get close to 2M with TS11 if she delivers an amazing record and does more promotion first week than she did with her last few albums.5 points

"When you win RuPaul’s Drag Race, you’re inevitably catapulted to the drag world’s peak. But for Sasha Colby, the winner of the most recent season of primetime television’s campest competition, that wasn’t necessarily a motivating principle — after all, why aspire to reach the top when you’re already there? A stalwart of the American scene, a flagship name from coast to coast, her two-decade career is easily one of the most decorated in contemporary drag." Sounds like her signature music. And I'm fine with that. Honestly there's no reason to change if it's popular. People put pressure on artists to constantly change their sound and most of the time it ends up being not as successful in terms of replay value.4 points

the fame is probably the easiest to get into. Catchy songs, catchy lyrics, at the end of the day thats the album that made gaga known worldwide.4 points

- 1000 Doves album version >>>>>> piano version. - Babylon was always superior to the demo. - 911 is her best music video since the BTW era. - Stupid Love is a cute pop song, but it feels so out place on the album. - Now that time has passed, I don't think they had a big campaing ready for the album. - While I do love the album, I really think that if Boys Noize and Sophie ended up being more involved, we could've got Gaga's most experimental and sonically exciting album, but they played it very safe (but I don't think this is an unpopular opinion lmao).4 points

I can’t wait to listen to ARTPOP whilst tears run down my cheek, dripping my Haus Labs concealer into my glass of Dom Perignon. All whilst wiping my eyes with my “Cotton On” shirt. Let the meltdowns begin4 points
