Oh honey I'm a big fan of your music but sincerely nobody would give a single f*ck about who you dated or not if you didn't market your first albums as storytime from the boy who broke up with you in 15 seconds over a phone call 😭 She is a marketing genius everyone says so she may have not liked it at first but then she enjoyed the ride and exposure the whole "OMG this song's about Harry" or even her saying "THANK YOU to the boy who inspired this song" at a major event. It's like Gaga and dance songs at this point, people associate one thing to another. And why would she care if a small group of crazed theorist people speculate about her sexuality when she presented herself as an ally a long time ago? It doesn't make sense for her to hide in the closet at this age. Honestly I hope she gets more confident as she gets older because this victim narrative has gotten tired over the years.7 points

That's hilarious. What's gonna be more funny is when she drops an apology tweet saying the release won't happen for some bogus reason. And then we do the same song and dance7 points

When she goes on her pre-album holiday to Mexico: June 2013 (2 months before Applause) July 2016 (2 months before Perfect Illusion) November 2019 (2 months before Stupid Love leaked, 3 before its official release)6 points

It’s a reference to planet terror with rose McGowan lol I don’t think this has anything to do with music.6 points

“We're deeply moved by the heartfelt tribute from @madonna during her Celebration Tour performance of ‘Live to Tell’, honouring the 40.4 million people we've lost to AIDS. Thank you, Madonna, for your advocacy and compassion, and for raising important awareness of the ongoing mission to end AIDS. With 39 million people living with HIV today, 9.4 million of whom are not currently on life-saving treatment, we must keep using our voices and platforms to ensure everyone has the opportunity to live full and healthy lives.” https://www.instagram.com/p/Cy3jGAUCT6o/6 points

as soon as you hear the guitar riff it’s obvious something is off. It sounds like a Youtube karaoke instrumental and her vocals sound too bright and poorly mixed and layered6 points

These vault tracks could easily be on Midnights. What happened to Style….the United Nations will have to respond to the violence6 points

In all fairness, this is about the AIDS epidemic. Both of em are divas but they do leave their boxing gloves at the door for social issues.5 points

It’s so funny seeing people here questioning her decision to make her own statements about herself on her own album. As per usual, a lot of people here seems to start on hating somebody else at some point for no reason. It’s really sad.5 points

How many albums has she announced now? She needs to get unstuck from under elon's foreskin5 points

While i think a lot of yall are being dramatic, I think it comes down to production, especially in Style. The original is MUCH more punchier, in your face, while TV is just a little bit more subtle. And I think that just comes down to how production styles have changed over the years, while the focus is more on layers rather than the punch.4 points

Some of you really are displaying ageism issues in this thread. People don't just automatically quit their passion because they reach 50 or 60 and so on.4 points

Yes, people are also similarly obsessed with who high profile male celebrities are potentially dating and basing it off merely being photographed together. Leonardo DiCaprio, Harry Styles and Pete Davidson are the most frequent examples. And regular people do it among each other too, particularly school students. I'm sure we all remember how everyone was teasing you for liking someone of the opposite sex in your class because you talked to them once or got partnered up with them for a project. And adults speculate about people in their local communities who get along well and spend a lot of time together (and I've heard some wild predictions over the years that never came true). There's a human impulse to assume that opposite sex interaction of any kind automatically equals romantic interest and gossiping is a natural instinct. Singers are also under the microscope more than other celebrities because they write about their relationships in their work meaning that they talk about relationships more than others, which is naturally going to encourage listeners to speculate and draw conclusions particularly if the ex's identity isn't clear and the artist makes a habit of writing about every ex. So, yeah, for Taylor to think this experience is unique to women and that everyone's picking on her specifically purely because she's a woman and they dislike her is a bit exaggerated.4 points

"a culture that claimed to believe in liberating women but consistently treated me with the harsh moral codes of the Victorian era" Girl lol. Most of the times she was seen with men she was actually dating them, no? I also find it hard to believe that with all the standing up for herself she's done she'd fold over an issue like that.4 points
-
Not to minimize impact of ppl talking but she plays the masoginist victim card on an issue that is kind of totally seperate from it. If a male celeb is seen with a female the assumption is also made that they are dating and tabloids start talking all about it even if they turn out to just be friends. Im not trying to downplay misoginy but in this particular case i dont think thats the reason for her dating gossip Thats the life of a celeb in general (especially A-List mainstream celebs). Its gross, but not unique to Taylor by any means4 points

I wish she would just be a musician and a visual artist instead of doing whatever pseudo-intellectual, quasi-performance art, rage-baiting bullshit she’s been up to for the past few years 🪦4 points
-
No offense but it must be awesome for her to drop into a venue full of music fans who aren't a bunch of gays demanding bops and choreography She can just enjoy her musicianship with her friends and it must feel incredible for the U2 crowd to sing Shallow back to her. I bet she feels so inspired after gigs like this and the Stones show.4 points

She’s clearly teasing LG7 is a rock-influenced record at this point She’s about to serve a glam rock era, I can feel it4 points

That's the privilige of being such a legend as Lady Gaga. She can mumble Cake Like Lady Gaga, do some weird dance singing Sway, having fun with legends such as Tony Bennett, TRS and U2, sing cute pop song with Ariana Grande or killing the whole restaurant full of people with Beyonce4 points

Did that in one of the most ethical ways tbh - she queened a bit! On nom nom still!3 points

get jack away from vault tracks. the vault tracks in general feel a bit too removed from the album (on all of them, fearless, speak now, red & 1989) aside from a couple. The production feels like a mix of whatever album they are on and kinda just general pop. I like Jack, I think him and Taylor work well together, they have created some of my favourite songs ever but these vaults I am truely looking for historical accuracy, most vault songs would not have sounded like that is they were actually on the album.3 points

I'm not hyping myself up, I was hoping for rock when she teased MANiCURE and Swine, hoping again before Joanne when she did Burning down the house, Come together etc. I'll believe in a rock album when she announces it.3 points
