Ladle Ghoulash 48,826
Shouldn’t even be close, tbh. KFL is an excellent song, SOAW is flaming hot garbaggio. KFL’s instrumental, vocal, grooves, and hook are all excellent. The band is tight asf, the sound is classic. SOAW sounds like a stock instrumental from ANTM that someone drunkenly recorded concept vocals over and never finished writing. Ugh, KFL the SMASH you are. Here are some concessions I will make: I find SOAW's "etheeerealll" to be a bit sonically grating & I think KFL's verses are adorable ("you know what I am baby & I know you're gonna ^be^ mine" sounds especially cute) But despite a marvelous brass section near the end, KFL wears out its welcome before it ends SOAW never does, imo Edited June 2 by NUTELLA

Intro is fine (a bit bland, generic), verse melodies and lyrics are horrible (the fact that melody of the first line is phrased like the second line/resolution phrase and the first lyric sounds like it’s starting mid sentence drive me nuts), pre-chorus is unforgivably repetitive *and* bland, chorus is serviceable, but doesn’t make up for what it took to get there, then the post-choruses and bridge are let downs because they’re just rehashes of the stale pre-chorus. Head Empty 26,738
Both great productions yet lyrically lackluster. KFL has better moments musically and it feels more 'alive' because of the instrumentation, but it drags too much for me. The vocals become a little too much to handle - I would've loved some more variety in her delivery during the second half of the song. SOAW is a more comfortable listening experience. I adore the chorus and the growing synths that start after the second chorus. It gets me moving every time. It packs less of a punch but I definitely prefer it over KFL. I had it on replay for days after it released. Edited June 2 by Head Empty
Kayioshka 3,153
SOAW is so underrated It sounds so ethereal, passionate, haunting, heavenly and devilish. Vocals : Instrumental : So detailed. Too exquisite to be qualified of "Filler song". Edited June 2 by Kayioshka In my peace era.
