I gotta give Olivia her props, The Cure is her most evolved and mature song yet.  I really enjoy watching her grow into a more serious artist.

Love Janice STFU, Ran to Atlanta, and a few other tracks. The fact that some of you would rather have Taylor Ai Slop over him on there is crazy.

Honestly for a second single and a 5 minute song in a genre not currently dominating this is still very good. There’s a very activated country/conservative market in the US right now and it feels like Ella is benefitting from the  Morgan fanbase (regardless of whether she herself is actually problematic).

And the girls are so teehee about it, avoiding any question about politics. She also followed Charlie Kirk on TikTok. Her 15 minutes are up soon.

There’s strong evidence that she’s MAGA which isn’t at all surprising.

I mean, only 1 song can be at #1 at any given time. The number of spots in the top 10 also do not change so its all relative

How we consume music changes, how spread out success is can also change, but the number of songs in the top 10 remain 10 any any given time nevertheless

My point is that, with the market becoming more and more saturated with new artists and powerful algorithms that are tailored to each consumer, it will become much more difficult to get a hit on star power alone. Not even massive promo is proving to secure that #1, barely the top 10. Its becoming more frequent that a huge artist might debute high, but the hold of the song is weaker week after week.

The only artist that seems to defy this trend is Taylor, whom I am honestly excited to see how she does with her upcomming Toy Story song.

I see what ur saying now. Ur refering to big stars specifically like the A-List celebs

Id argue its not a bad thing is success and #1s are being spread to more artists than just concentrated on a few heavily promoted artists by their label anyway. Its more fair to give more people a shot

Oh totally, it gives smaller artists a chance. However I would not confidently say that it levels the playig field evenly. Its still very volatile like smaller artists kinda have to rely on getting lucky and for a song to go viral. SO yes, they have betetr chances but its stil quite hard to control and stand out without that sudden luck.

Agreed its volatile. But just saying its spread out between more artists rather than always the same 5 to 10 artis that are hot in any given year as was typical in like 2010-2011

Gaga, Eminem, Katy Perry, Black Eyed Peas, Justin Bieber, Kesha, Rihanna and maybe a couple others on their own must of made up at least 1/3 of the top 5 music slots back in the day lol. Success was so concentrated on so few :ladyhaha:
