I just listened to the song and I really don't get what's being talked about her not having any growth as an artist. I think a lot of people haven't really gotten much into her discography to actually distinguish this stuff, I can sense a bit of a The Fray/Kings of Lion alt rock kind of vibes this time.

Also to say the song leads nowhere just proves our ****ed up attention spam, I really like how the guitar strums are like yearning for so long and then it all leads to a catharsis.

it's just another kindergarden rock song 

Her pop-rock and pop-punk music will never be on the same level of Avril's 3 first albums.

Not saying that is bad, I enjoyed some of her songs, and the cure is cute and enjoyable to listen at the car, I will not change the station if the song comes up, but her delivery has always been so so to me, like she never really understood what rock and punk is all about and like almost every song, at some point, it's just noise and screams

As someone who has near enough said that word for word on this forum ima bite. 

I listen to rock & metal. One of my favourite classics is 12 minutes long. One of my favourite albums of all time has multiple songs longer than this song and 2 that are double the length. 

The issue isn't attention span. The issue is an instrumental that builds to a payoff that never delivers.
