Gaga was shooting Gucci (no pun intended) when the ARTPOP Act II petition became viral and we got Dawn of Chromatica because of this, she was shooting Joker 2 when Bloody Mary became viral, we got vinyls, t shirts AND PROBABLY THE MOST IMPORTANT THING, INSPIRATION TO MAKE MAYHEM.

It’s crazy how much the label is willing to spend on her to this day. I get that she can still sell a ticket for her show, but they really won’t give up on her.

In the meantime, Gaga just had one of the biggest songs ever and we had to wait for Netflix to write a check so we could get another mv. Oh well…

Mayhem alone is out streaming most of Katy’s music in totality and The Fame after 18 years is still outselling Teenage Dream despite them having a “viral” hit (although it’s not even half of what Bloody Mary had) so Gaga doesn’t need lots of singles and music videos.
 

She’s also selling out arena and stadium after stadium yeah it’d be nice to get music videos but in 2026 music videos are quite pointless especially now YouTube doesn’t count for the charts (that’s what labels will think anyway). Legacy acts dont need loads of singles or videos that’s why artists like Gaga and Beyoncé dont do it that much and we’re blessed with what we’ve had I think.

Besides, 99% of people only wanted Vanish, HBDUWM or Garden as singles because they wanted them to be hits as bragging rights in stan wars tbh (because based on streaming numbers none of them had enough interest from the public to be singles anyway).

its funny because this is the song that broke her Teenage Dream #1 streak, but it's now her most popular song on Spotify. It's always been one of her strongest songs

The fact Gaga didn't do anything like this when Bloody Mary was viral was wise, because it allows the nostalgia to speak for itself. Now, every fall Gaga gets a peak in streams on the song. It's become perennial now, and people will constantly revisit it for nostalgia. Once the peaks start to dip in future years, Gaga could pull a Halloween promo moment, not unlike how Mariah does for Christmas.

By pushing a song when it peaks like this, it becomes just another flash in the pan moment/single. If Katy and her team were wise they would have let it ride out and maybe done something special for Valentine's Day next year to make the song more timeless.

in Katy's defence this is one of the very few good things that happened to her these past few years, I think she should enjoy it
