Yeah, but apparently ROSALÍA is elitist for that lmaooo

I’ve seen comments of people saying she’s done cosplaying being Latina and is now remembering she is a European colonizer :air:

Meanwhile she’s just exploring and blending different genres as she always has

He is super annoying and tone deaf with any of his takes, but then again he's a wealthy nepo baby, (his uncle is the director who did The Office & Ugly Betty, and his dad is UNICEF director), them and being relatable doesn't go together :ororomunroe:

How the hell he suppose to know what goes in acting world that much when his rapid rise of fame were likely calculated, thanks to easier access given to him with his connections :ororomunroe:

And his grandmother and mother are former ballet dancers, as is his sister.

He's as pretentious as the accent on his  name. I said what I said.

Addison Rae

So true. Nobody cared about ballet until Addison Rae did a photoshoot as a ballerina in 2023 and now suddenly everyone wants to care about this ‘precious’ artform.

Came here to say this. She has no other choice than to continue exploring opera just to prove him wrong!

Oriane

I have so many thoughts about this.

He talked like a stupid uncultured kid. I used to be made fun of in middle school because I did ballet and listened to classical music. Now people just admire me when I mention it, they know it's really hard and they have a lot of respect for anyone who does that, and many people would like to go see an opera or ballet if the occasion was right.

It also makes me laugh that people think it's reserved for rich people and the elite. My mom came from a poor background, and she's always loved classical music. We went to watch a lot of opera and ballet together, and she could always afford it despite being a low-income single mother.

Where did the idea of him being artsy and cultured come from? Does this have some weight or is it just because of the roles he had and the subsequent press tour to sell this idea?

I think the barriers for opera and ballet are the artforms themselves. I believe they have no place in 21st century. The sooner they die the better.

He's really ignorant. Ive actually seen more interviews than films with him and if Simeone starts getting a bit Deep and eventually names , say Descartes. He'll bluntly Say, no idea Who It Is but okay. Positive part, doesn't pretend. Instead, from what ive been Is a bit proud of being ignorant. Must be some kind of Rich kid ribellion.

In terms of him being "artsy," the most concrete part is that he went to prestigious performing arts schools (LaGuardia High School and NYU), but a lot of it is more heavily tied to the movies he's in and how he presented himself: getting started in "artier" mainstream films (Lady Bird, Call Me By Your Name, The French Dispatch) and his earlier career styling/persona where presenting himself as being

"soft," polite, thoughtful, and "evolved" (not being afraid of being perceived as effeminate, loving more high fashion styled looks, posturing as someone who is intellectual).
