Bronco 19,704
1 hour ago, Jackaroo said: You’re acting like calling out blatant slut-shaming is some kind of moral collapse. It’s not. The point is that none of us know the circumstances behind someone’s pregnancy, so reducing it to “someone should’ve used a condom” is lazy and dehumanising- just like the joke in itself. If the whole thread started with people trying to have a nuanced conversation about a hypothetical clump of cells, jumping straight to insulting a woman’s character isn’t some clever gotcha—it just proves the criticism about tone-deafness was valid. Honestly, if you’ve spent this much time today riding in to police everyone else’s tone just to land on that kind of comment, you might want to reconsider how you’re using your time on this forum vs real life &work. It’s not adding the insight you seem to think it is- just looks like you’re a loser who’s always here. But you didn't call out slut-shaming? You did it the slut-shaming? Like, do you realise it was you who said it? Did you black out and forget you are the one who spoke about tone-deafness and then proceeded to engage in slut-shaming when people disagreed with you and you ran out of things to say? I'm genuinely concerned for you because the level of cognitive dissonance in this response to my calling out your misognyistic comment is alarming. I play rugby and I've seen a guy get knocked out cold and come around saying the sky was green who seemed less confused than you do in this response. You can go with the personal insults if you want, I don't know who you are so your opinion of me doesn't matter. But what it does do, is show everyone here the type of person you are. You’re trying really hard to rewrite what happened. Calling out a misogynistic “use a condom” jab isn’t slut-shaming — it’s criticizing the comment and the topic itself. The irony is YOU spent multiple posts lecturing everyone about tone, then made the same kind of cheap jab yourself. For someone who says they play rugby, that’s such a weak tackle. 🤏🏼 And if my opinion supposedly doesn’t matter, writing paragraphs about me in your precious time kind of suggests otherwise. It absolutely is - because you're making a negative assumption about the woman at the center of this based purely on the idea you've formulated without any information. In anger at being repeatedly disagreed with in this thread - you proceeded to call the female OP a bitch and assume that the abortion (which she very likely didn't have as it's a meme template) she referenced was her fault because she was reckless. 2 minutes ago, Jackaroo said: And if my opinion supposedly doesn’t matter, writing paragraphs about me in your precious time kind of suggests otherwise. I never blamed a woman for being sexually active. My issue from the start was how tone-deaf the whole situation is — a serious topic like abortion being turned into a trend under a Zara Larsson post, with a fetus casually referred to as “it.” Calling out a “someone tell a bitch to use a condom” comment as a lazy insult isn’t blaming anyone for having sex. It’s pointing out that the discussion had already devolved into cheap shots instead of addressing the actual topic. You’re now arguing against something I cliterally never said. StrawberryBlond 15,292
I don't know why so many of you can't seem to understand why this kind of joke is best kept in private, behind closed doors. How someone wants to deal with the potential trauma of an abortion is up to them, but there's no need to put it on social media. I've also seen some women literally celebrate their abortion or the anniversary of it by buying a cake, throwing a party. I only know about this because they put it online. Making this stuff public is what deeply saddens those who desperately want children or have had their child die. And it also gives credence to the idea that women are too frivolous about their choice to abort and it can increase the likelihood that it can cause the public's opinion to change to not allowing abortion at all because they find these online confessions far too off-putting and disturbing. If you want abortion to continue to be legal, perhaps stop broadcasting dark and dehumanising jokes about it. Maybe there would also be less stigma around abortion and more empathy for those who made that choice if that were the case.

We've literally both quoted you saying this. You even repeat it. Calling a woman a bitch as an insult, especially in this kind of context, is absolutely misogynistic. Your ignorance on the subject is very clear as well - its not been turned into a trend under a Zara Larson post - its a meme template that predates this post by the OP on tiktok. It's not a Zara Larson post either, she commented on the post. Literally the title of this thread. And as for the fetus debate. It's really interesting that you've invested time & effort into attempting to police GGD users language in regards to an unborn clump of nonviable cells but have zero issue calling a woman a bitch and lazily insulting her by your own admittance. Meanwhile, you're trying to claim your issue is about tone-deafness in this thread. But again - zero issue with using lazy insults against a woman you do not know which are blatantly misogynist and zero issue with resorting to personal insults against users who disagree with you. Ok so back to original topic: what if I told you I give 0 fcks about an unwanted fetus cause I care about the actual living person who happens to be - surprise - a woman. Jackaroo 2,443
Calling it misogyny doesn’t make it true. I never blamed a woman for being sexually active — I pointed out that the comment was tone-deaf. We’re arguing with something I never said while brown-nosing Bronco like he’s some kind of hero. Anyway, I’ve made my point. I’m done here.
