IF that is true that’s crazy. I don’t believe that Gaga would do that at all, but if it’s true then it does explain why she would shade her as “the hero for the world to see” after being put in that position. 

If they saw at rehearsals that the director's chair was a risky prop, I could understand Gaga not wanting to be a part of something that could potentially lead to a Hollywood legend falling to the ground on live television.

She said she’s a big fan though... To me it felt like she was pissed at how the Oscars used her declining health for media buzz when she was promised a different situation.

Honestly up until this post that's exactly what I thought, I assumed from the Oscars clip that she had dementia and didn't have much of an understanding of the situation

The idea that Gaga somehow forced Liza into a wheelchair is obviously bullsh*t. And no, I don't think Gaga is perfect. The media is mostly spinning this in a positive way, and I wonder if it's because they can tell this story is dumb & don't want to drag Gaga for an obvious lie. I almost want Gaga to call this out, but fighting with a legendary 90 something year old isn't a good look and between Andrew getting arrested & the Olympics...this isn't even making a small dent in the media. 

It makes far more sense that people tried to convince her to use a wheelchair for safety reasons, financial reasons (the Academy didn't want her falling and breaking her leg), and maybe even said something like "it'll make it easier for your co-presenter"...and she somehow ran with it and blamed Gaga. 

Or that her team blamed Gaga because she refused to get in a wheelchair after they asked her to do so.

The thing is, I could see Gaga doing that though. Maybe she thought she'd be more comfortable or that it would help her, but obviously Liza didn't feel that way. But again, even if she did do that, I don't think she had any malintent.

The "hero for the world to see" comment is understandable if Liza felt like Gaga only did that to show the world just how "good" a person she is. But like I said, I don't think that was her intention. If all that Liza said was true, it could just be chalked up to miscommunication and misreading people's intentions.

Yup. 

I get that she's mad, but it's obviously a lie that Gaga of all people could somehow force her into a wheelchair. At the Academy, Liza is the more important person in the room. I'm thinking she refused the chair & they told her a bunch of things to try and get her to accept it, including that it would make it easier for Gaga in case she fell, and she just seized on Gaga. 

That said, better for Gaga to just keep her mouth shut than call out the lie.

Can't fault Liza if that's how she felt, but I wouldn't be surprised if others involved viewed the experience through a different lens, particularly a liability one for the Academy.
