Why do you think she and MJ didn't work out beyond that one public date and a couple private meetings (where she got him drunk to touch him and exposed herself to him without consent which, if any MAN had done either of those would have led to harsh cancellations) An icon and a trailblazer but also just generally a gross person. Thankyou! I dont care how much of an icon she might be. Everything about her personality (at least that we see publicly) is that Madonna is not a nice person Cher put it perfectly and she knew her personally: MJ also called her a mean Witch so more evidence

I think the way it goes for her is more like (not always but a lot of the time since 4): - people write stuff, writing camps - she parses through and gives notes - rewrites - then they’re in the studio where she might splice stuff together, etc. i always saw her like someone who likes for resources rather than necessarily is the raw material. She has a ton of vision and talent and I think directing suits her. There’s definitely people more like Rihanna who just basically sing what’s in front of them lol I think Beyonce was definitely more controlled earlier but then there’s also stuff like BDay that’s just really really brash and abrasive and I have a hard time believing that was just all put down in front of her to sing without input. So that’s where I tend to believe my theory. I have a hard time believing someone so meticulous wouldn’t be musically so as well I would’ve definitely said Rihanna was the least (I mean her last album was literally half songs she just sung over other people’s demos) but now a minimum requirement for most artists is being a songwriter, almost all the current wave of popstars are songwriters (Billie, Sabrina, Charli, Chappel, Harry Styles etc) and the only survivor old school divas are the ones who’re also songwriters like Gaga for instance. Beyoncé is the only one from the old days still around who is successful without being a songwriter (which is kinda debatable since her singles aren’t that big anymore and her album sales decrease every release now). Beyonce is definitely a performer but unless she started being public again and doing interviews properly we will never know how involved she is anymore. A lot of the newer acts are involved in EVERYTHING from the songwriting to the stage presence, looks and even the way their songs sound and are arranged. Beyoncé does all this but she doesn’t write her own songs so I’d still say she’s the least involved (emphasis on LEAST not entirely uninvolved)

I remember watching a Bob The Drag Queen interview when he was the MC at her tour and she basically was late to every single show because she could be. She also basically was horrid about other divas behind the scenes (specially Katy Perry for some reason). Whilst the latter I’m like whatever, the sheer unprofessionalism of being late just because you’re Madonna is bad.
