Yeah, Joanne has one for the WDYTYG version of the title track and Chroma has one for ROM (Ariana’s first GRAMMY)

I expected Bad Bunny to win so I'm not too disappointed. I'd be pissed if she had lost for someone other than him or Kendrick.

You like the fat girl I got in me 🍕

I feel like her political silence cost her the Grammy.

No where in hell was BBs album better than Mayhem, in the terms of vocal, production and overall era impact Gaga did much more. Same for Disease losing to Messy. It's also a shame Harlequin didn't get its flowers. Like they used Gaga so heavily for promo and paid her dust again. But again, kinda feel like it was cause of the lack of stance on both Gaza and ICE/Trump.

*Sigh* Here we are again. Knew that this was the way it was going but it's still a disappointment. I'm grateful she won 2 awards, of course I am. I predicted she'd get 2 and they were the ones she got. But that elusive AOTY win...that elusive any win in general field at all...:saladga:

I can't believe Billie won SOTY for the third time in 6 years with another eh song and Gaga can't win one for some of the most iconic hits. Kendrick dominating the wins again. Expected name after expected name winning what's to be expected. Gaga's amazing Abra performance was about the one thing that was a surprise. I've listened to the singles off Bad Bunny's album and I truly don't get what the critics see in it, this is just standard reggaeton music. I listened with subtitles so I know the lyrics were basic with a song about sex and twerking winning him an award, it was just like a Latin Shape of You. That awful cover art even got a best cover art nomination for 2 plastic chairs on grass. I'm sure Kendrick fans are fuming that just like Gaga, he's missed out on a 5th AOTY win. I'm starting to think that the academy know of the fabled curse (after you win AOTY, your career fails) and like Gaga and Kendrick enough to keep nominating them but want to protect them by never actually letting them win.

Not to belittle Bad Bunny's (or Gaga's) work, but it just didn't matter how good of an album Mayhem (or any other nominee, for that matter) was, DTMF was exactly what the Academy needed/wanted to try to remain relevant and send a message.

A brazilian music critic said something I totally agreed: "Bad Bunny is far from being the most skilled artist of the bunch, and his album lacks the technicity some of the others have, but he represents something." Most of the people were not talking about his music, but about him. Something similar happened with John Baptiste's victory for Album of the Year: I had seen so many people, especially artists, praising him not for being the most skilled and innovative artist, but because he decided to release happy music (which cheered people up) during the Corona Virus outbreak :saladga:
