Gaga has become careful and reluctant when it comes to things like this. Probably for a few reasons:

- fear of becoming a target (trauma)

- fear that positive intentions will backfire 

- trying to be a pacifist (not wanting to cause further polarisation)

- conflicting private interests (family/money) 

Although I wish she'd speak out more, I think there are valid personal reasons to not step into the front line, like she used to. She's treading carefully.

If I were her with a public address in a famous location I'd be keeping on the move too and delivering speeches from places of safety.

So you’re saying private actions aren’t as valuable as public ones?  I’d argue the opposite. The ones that no one knows about are actually self sacrificing. Public ones are performative.

I also had to double check and not sure if anyone mentioned it already- but Michael is from Minnesota and knowing how empathetic Gaga is, she probably has been taking it super hard and I bet she has been very emotionally invested. To protect her physical health, I'm sure she avoided speaking out too much almost like not to rev herself up to much and make herself more upset
