I mean, even on places like Fauxmoi they’re complaining about this :toofunny: Asking why she said this in Japan and calling her a Zionist after grilling her for not saying anything. I can’t stand that subreddit

Omg I was banned from there :icant: I was too many times defending Gaga I fear :bradley: they're so miserable these days, it used to have good discussions idk what happened

I’m glad she did. Now speak about Palestine and the genocide. And speak about both at the Grammys.

dumbest comment in a while

Not at all, I’m sure her father will give her a hefty lecture, since he’s there with Cynthia.

Secondly, she deleted a story she posted of herself having fun in Japan. It makes perfect sense: she had to give this speech before returning to America, and her team clearly saw the comments.

I’ve never, ever seen this many people asking her to speak up before, it’s literally all over her Instagram and TikTok.

Pretty sure Joe is fuming and embarrassed since he's on Fox news once a week. He has a temper too! It makes sense she didn't speak up

So here's a question, are you happy when your fellow community members do nothing?

If so, do you think it was right for Gaga to stay silent when ICE came to California - her community?

Ii's not a case of right or wrong. For someone like Gavin Newsom, it's his job, his responsibility, he took an oath, he's in a right or wrong situation. Gaga is a private citizen, and while I accept that she is not an ordinary private citizen she is nevertheless under no obligation to speak up. I think it's legit for anyone on here to be disappointed with what she says or doesn't say, but it's not a case of right or wrong.

Are you seriously comparing organising a fundraiser to posting a predesigned instagram story?

She doesn't need to be in the US to share basic pre-designed templates on insta with a link to civil rights orgs.

She could have her team do it and all she'd need to do is send them a text asking for it.

I'm not putting her on a pedestal. I don't expect her to fix the world.

What I expect is a woman who made political activism be a defining brand identifier be politically active at the time its most needed.

As I've already said, I am happy she is finally speaking to the times after missing previous key moments.

But this nonsense that she needs time to go "executing peaceful protestors in broad daylight is bad" is ludicrous.

Bingo GIF

Bare minimum! As someone who was a social media manager for 2 years, we could make this happen super fast!

Its everyone's responsibility.

When nazis are back, you either help destroy the c*nts anyway possible or let them run riot. It is absolutely a clear cut right or wrong moment in history.

Joe ??

They are father and daughter and I'm sure he loves her and she loves him, but I would hazard a guess that in private conversation Joe has had his head torn off on more than one occasion by his now almost 40-year-old global superstar daughter.

You are telling her that it is wrong for her to not risk her life and the lives of her family. That's not hyperbole, that's what it means for a famous person to speak up. We don't have the right to insist on that from someone like her. She can choose to do it. She has done it today, she has done it in the past and she may well do it again when she gets home, but she absolutely has the right not to.

You realise the UK is already copying the US right?

The rise of reform at all government levels across England.

The UK government trying to out reform reform with its changes to how it handles asylum seekers.

Like, its incredibly sheltered to think this isn't affecting the UK already.

Yea but I trust the UK to be smart enough to not vote for them, they’re probably not gonna get in without a coalition with the Tories and I doubt the tories will not be like Labour based on the fact they want to just be different than them because they’re already under fire for being basically full of former tories, Nigel Farage is absolutely a laughing stock to the average person- the same as how we see Trump as a laughing stock.

Im not saying we don’t have issues ofc we do, but we don’t have ICE in this country so the point still stands.

I'm thrilled she said something before the Grammys, she needed to speak sooner rather than later. Even better that she's saying it outside America to a huge crowd to spread the message further afield. I think it was very genuine and she kept things more contained than how she used to (remember the "Obama, ARE YOU LISTENING?! days?) She may not have been the first to speak out but she was one of the first and I'm sure she'll be saying more at the Grammys and of course, most tour dates after this, especially in Saint Paul, obviously. I'll always respect Gaga's decision of when and how to speak and I'd never put pressure on her to do so. But I'm happy she's done it early on so no one can accuse her of speaking out too late only when it was "safe" because everyone else already had.
