What exactly did he achieve again that makes him rank higher than Gaga and Taylor? Globally I mean

DTMF recieved critical acclaim with a 95/100 on metacritic, it was his fourth US #1 album and the 6th spanish-language album to hit #1 on the BB200.
It was a powerful album about Puerto Rican identity in the face of repeated colonialism.
He had a sold out 31 date concert residency in Puerto Rico - and reserved all of the tickets for 10 dates exclusively for Puerto Ricans. He's also embarked on a 57 date world stadium tour - it was originally announced with 24 dates and sold so well it has more than doubled in length. Sold over 2.6 million tickets within a week, a record for any Latin artist. The 8 shows in Mexico City grossed $86.7million, the 2nd highest grossing concert series at a single venue globally (only Coldplay's 10 show run at Wembley last year beat it out).
He's achieved concert sales records on this tour in the Dominican Republic, Costa Rica, Mexico, Colombia, Australia, Portugal, Spain, England, France, Sweden, Poland & Italy.
He's the first Latin act to ever sell out stadiums in Poland, Italy & Portugal.

I agree with everything but pls let’s stop using the 95/100 score. His album was reviews by 8 people VS 25 people like every one else’s. That 95 is a facade. If he faced the same scrutiny other A-listers receive he would most likely be in the high 80’s just like everyone else this year.

Yeah but part of the issue is that a lot of publications won't bother employing or paying people to cover foreign language albums.

Ppl keep being surprised Billboard isnt looking globally

Their charts are US based, so their rankings will also be US based for other impacts. They are not generally going to look globally

But you implied he was avoiding scrutiny, I was pointing out that it was embedded bigotry within the American media that was the issue.

The fantastic artist, and the great album. I wouldn’t be able to rank him (obviously I’m too biased because I love Gaga way too much). I do believe tho that he’s amazing (and I’m not even Spanish speaking fyi). Can’t wait for the Super Bowl. :)

Idc Gaga's gonna win 12 grammys this Sunday, being the first artist in history winning several awards in categories she wasn't even nominated in IDC IDC !!!
