i mean you could tell for a while now that things were looking bad for her behind the scenes. the lack of budget, the cancelled tour, the long periods of silence…

I heard that playing in the background of a ch*turbate ad before a video the other day, and it was such a bornerkiller, I had to just close shop and go do something else.

They notoriously treat their up n coming artists badly (aka chappell before she was dropped), i just hope she can get another label to back her vision

She was dropped before releasing any music tho. Def Jam didn’t like the demos she had.

Ava Max is being dropped after releasing multiple unsuccessful projects

I wonder if in the long run this could work in her favour

She now has a known name even if she was only Semi-famous but now isnt stuck or slave to a contract by being dropped

She could attempt to do her own thing on the internet. She may not he massive but she can keep 100% of royalties on new content and have creatove freedom

Shes also free to do gigs and private shows for events type contract that she has enough name to be quite lucrative

Tbh, i might like it in her position. She wont ever be an A-List but she now has possibilities to do what she wants with no strings attached and still enjoy a degree of success and confort

I feel like maybe she could do well like Raye did. But I honestly don’t think she has the talent Raye does so I don’t know what she has to offer

Idk about 7x though. And really where was the massive support? She didn't get tacked onto any major artist's tours (unless you count Maroon 5). The one thing Atlantic could have done for her was give her one of Cardi's million features and they didn't. She had Jason Derulo and David Guetta songs but they got no push and really Atlantic phoned in the C Team with that. And then they really just neglected the audience in Germany where her music was most successful, when it could have propped her up for later. She called her only headlining tour "On Tour (finally)" and she had the budget of 5 rice grains. Her MVs had the budget of those 5 rice grains regurgitated.

Its weird how she is considered a big flop because she cant compete with main popgirls but she has more streams and monthly listeners than Charli XCX. She is still widely successful all things considered. So this has me thinking it was more of a parting based on creative differences? Thots? :oprah:

I mean I don't think the conclusions are hard to make from that. She has more streams on 1-2 songs that genuinely do well consistently, causing her total streams to be so high. But that's a testament to her not doing well in recent times. And monthly listeners has been and always will be a non-metric. It's just the total number of people that have heard a song for 30 seconds or more from an artist over the past 30 days. That's not indicative of popularity. It could just be that a song of hers is playlisted pretty heavily and she has more people that have casually heard one of her songs.

It's infinitely easier for dance pop to get playlisted widely than it is for electropop/hyperpop. And several chart tracking sites put Charli way ahead of Ava in terms of daily streams. Which mirrors the dilemma that Ava faces. More casual listeners rather than a consistent fanbase that comes back for more and supports the art. Ava has been widely heard, but it doesn't translate to success within the industry.
