Unpopular opinion: The Fame Monster

Also I never understood why Reloaded and No Way weren’t just added to The Fame Monster to make it a full fledged album since they were almost fully finished songs (No Way was pretty much fully mixed and mastered)

I just don’t think they really fit aesthetically with the rest of the album. Most of the record is colder industrial sounding eurodance and those are more pop RNB tracks that I think would kind of stick out like a sore thumb. I’ve definitely spun both tracks a lot, but I’m not really sure I think either were ready for prime time.

It is in this household. The Suburbs deserved it.

Taste and we're probably the only people who think that in this forum :icant:

Guys is Sour Candy the WORST song from Chromatica??? Someone back me up here. Ghoulash is rage baiting me into thinking she has taste lmao

1000 doves is the worst song. They really said "what if we stripped all the emotions from the piano version to make it the blandest song ever made?".

While I disagree about the final version of 1000 Doves, if we’re just talking about the bones of the song, there’s no way there’s a single song on Chromatica that, when stripped to nothing but melody and lyrics, is worse than Sour Candy.

True now you mentioned it, but maybe with some fine tuning they could’ve worked who knows.

it’s kind of diabolical how many Gaga songs made between 2008-2010 that could’ve easily been released as singles or made into entire albums worth of material. No Way, Reloaded, NOBTR, Earthquake… damn. I kinda miss when she was hungry for a POP hit like she used to be. Although I think that energy has slowly came back with Mayhem.

No Way sounds cold af to me

If Speechless, Telephone and Teeth could make it on the tracklist, I can’t see why No Way and Reloaded didn’t. They both are commercial pop and sonically more mature than The Fame globally. Both are an evolution of Gaga’s sound.

And I actually regret that a little bit… I can’t find anything that sounds remotely similar to No Way or Reloaded in her discography.

I guess the only unpopular opinions I have on this is that I'm not really into Telephone the song, and I don't really get the hype for the music video for Bad Romance.

Honestly Gaga's part is okay. Not great but fun and kind of a guilty pleasure. My problem with most songs on Chromatica is indeed the production and many of these songs would have shone if done differently. A lot of it feels dull and doesn't provoke any emotion in me, except for boredom.

Yeah it’s unfortunate she was up against stiff competition that year but The Suburbs is a fantastic album with a hell of an opener. Just listened to it again last year and was like wow it holds up feeling exactly how it did when I first listened

Looooove No Way but I don’t think that one would really fit. It’s a cute song, one of my favorite unreleased of hers, but I think it lacks that little bit of oomph that makes it undeniably hers. Same for Reloaded. Great song, she needs to work with darkchild again (I know it won’t happen lol) but it kind of lacks a certain specificity. SHICD is the most album ready iteration of those crop of sounds from the recording sessions imo and that’s where TFM shines. She picked the best of her various experiments and sessions at the time and nothing more.

I was in HS when this happened so I dont remember entirely. But TFM if I remember had to do with the demos sounding different. That was one thing but overall fans were more positive as opposed to the how BTW was divisive when it was being released, leaked, and the media's ire over judas and the madonna feud.

Omg I remember the quick freakouts over the Alejandro demo vs official. Crazy bc the demo is cute and gives you an idea of what it could be but the final absolutely washes it. Perfect case of why you make demos—show potential and come back to it later to flesh it out

ARTSEX

-TITD would have flopped if released as single (it sounds too gay, it had been released in some territories but didn't become popular with the GP)
-She still hasn't outdone Speechless as her best ballad

Dance. Sex. Art. Pop.

Reloaded and Out of Control should've absolutely been included on the album, making it an official second album and not EP.
