AND Born This Way sold more copies than The Fame Monster But because they decided to stick The Fame Monster to The Fame, it made it look like her whole career was basically a continuous fall

But having Heidi Slimane shooting your cover and having a dry af hard front wig in hard lighting is CRAZY to me.

His technique brought so much texture and drama to the cheap wig which to me made it all the more camp but! I consent that it’s really a matter of personal taste lol Edited January 14 by Ziggy

Like the aesthetic was so minimalist. And the wig for the Alejandro single cover was just so much better imo. Economy 51,866
I agree with #3 about Monster. Disagree on the rest
Anderson123 40,985
Teeth > Monster Teeth is such a fun song Gaga usually brings back once in a while and love seeing her perform it, reminds me of Killah energy. Alejandro was the right choice for 3rd single and I’m glad she pushed it. As much as I love Dance In The Dark it probably would’ve been like Marry The Night that they weren’t radio friendly songs but fan favorites with great music videos. According to that commercial, Monster seemed like it was going to be pushed as 4th single and I’m glad it wasn’t. As much as I love RedOne I feel like most Gaga’s singles at that time had a very similar sound to each other and then he went to work with a lot of artists and repeat that formula. I’m glad The Fame Monster was expanded into a full album and not just a The Fame deluxe with 4-5 songs because we could’ve missed on songs like So Happy I Could Die and Teeth which are not fillers at all but they were selected to have 8 songs finished. Speechless has been her best ballad ever but Happy Mistake and some of the ones on A Star Is Born are high up there in her Top 5 ballads ever.
niccolo 42
Alejandro is boring and is not about anything. Its inclusion in any setlist is a slog because it has not been revamped at all since its conception. It deserves a spot on the album but also should be vaulted and locked up. Honestly that’s kind of how I feel about LoveGame. I like to on the MAYHEM Ball setlist, but wouldn’t be sad if she shelved it moving forward We have forgotten our public MANNERS

I admit I don’t remember the perceived division over TFM. I was less into fan forums and such at the time, but I only remember the positivity. BTW is another story. I actively remember that entire era being divided from the get-go.

I was in HS when this happened so I dont remember entirely. But TFM if I remember had to do with the demos sounding different. That was one thing but overall fans were more positive as opposed to the how BTW was divisive when it was being released, leaked, and the media's ire over judas and the madonna feud.
