Idk, I've heard things and names involved that make me optimistic but I'm never gonna be satisfied with an MJ biopic that's less than three seasons worth of hour long episodes  they just cannot adequately cover 50 years in a couple hours.

I want his TRUE story told and unfortunately, every time someone tells his story, they either vilify or deify him.

The "King of Pop" moniker is almost a double edged sword. It casts him as the biggest artist in history, and he was, but it's almost dehumanizing too, and I really worry they just can't portray both the star and the man without tarnishing his work and altruism or glazing over his struggles. Or both

Despite the good he did in the world and how incredible his work is, his story is dark. It started with poverty, abuse, and manipulation and ended with addiction, isolation, and a deeply unique mental anguish that no GP audience could truly relate to.

Well, to echo above, I just don't have faith in any team to adequately represent the 50 years between those two points in a way that satisfies stans like myself.

That's why I like the MJ musical so much. They picked a specific point in time (the rehearsals for the Dangerous Tour) and either flashbacked to his childhood or foreshadowed his future from there. And they managed to tie in his addiction, trauma, and even the child predator stuff (he was innocent xoxo) while still keeping a large focus on his work, creative process, and charity...and included some cute moments of levity that MJ stans really eat up 'cause he was a silly, silly man  

Tl;dr - I just love the guy a lot. Faults and all. Idolizing doesn't begin to cover it so I'm keeping my expectations low but I am cautiously optimistic.

judging by what we have so far, it looks like they're covering from his childhood.mp3 through to the Dangerous era at most. interested to know at what point they'll end the film

Michael jackson needs a particular and special screenplay and scenography for Just him. Not a movie that looks like It could be aby anyone .

And that's so unfortunate too 'cause I WANT the allegations and the truth behind them covered. If they stop at Dangerous then every article or review written about this biopic will be about them avoiding the allegations

I agree, it's such a big part of his story and shouldn't really be ignored!
