Louvre 4,111
We know that Gaga is very selective with her collaborations. She rarely is featured on another artists song, and when she does a collaboration it is always listed as a duet and never a feature: Lady gaga with Ariana Grande, Lady Gaga with Blackpink, Lady gaga and beyonce, etc. Other than some of the collabs at the very beginning of her career, she has rarely ever been a featured artist on someone elses album/ song. The only song in the lat 10 years I can think of where she was the feature is on the rolling stones album. She only seems to be featured on someone elses album if they are a musical legend - very anti hopping on a track with whoever is current/new. So, considering all of this, I wonder how Gaga rejects offers to be a part of other peoples songs. Do we think that artists reach out to her all the time asking her to hop on a track? How does she say no? And why is she so rarely featured on another persons song? I think that maybe she has had negative experiences with being the featured artist in the past. One situation that comes to mind is being kicked off/ having her collabs with Kendrick completely fall through. I wonder if that made her feel very disposed of. BDKMV version with gaga was so good. Perhaps people in the past have looked down at her/ criticized her for being too queer coded. I also wonder about Just Dance and colby's presence on that song. Obviously he was only on the track because Interscope thought it was important for marketing to have a male lead on the song. Could this have given her cold feat about frequent collabs and features?
Louvre 4,111
Its also important to note that while her collaborations are somewhat sparse, they are always huge smashes - which is very rare.
Anderson123 39,076
I think not a lot of artists call her or her team because many are scared or just don’t know how to approach her because if they want her on a track, she’s probably going to want to write something for it. I just can't picture her being an artist that is like "I'll send my verse and do what u want with it". She's obviously going to want her voice to sound certain way and be there in the studio. One of the duets I really wanted to happen was Cher and I love the demo but from what I got as to why it got cancelled, Gaga wants to sit with the artist, talk about the music they’re making, what they want as artists etc. and she also has to like the production of it. I love that there aren’t many of these because she’s so special and she knows how to pick the ones that work. Ziggy 12,169
Probably through management atp I feel like Gaga is selective about collabs bc she really wants to be in the studio and have a connection which isn’t easy. But then as well I think other artists are nervous to have her bc—to be honest—there’s just no way she won’t out sing the f*ck out of them, not just in ability but just sheer performance. Lest we recall the uncredited backing vocals she did for that Lucas Nelson (?) song around Joanne time and no matter how much they mixed her vocals to the back she was just so prominent and recognizable bc it’s her voice. Even if you had her just speaking she’d outshine a hoe.
Bonkers 29,903
it's called ghosting. You say you'd like to and then you avoid them like the plague. In the early days Paris Hilton asked her publicly and she was like, "I'm working on my individuality" or something like that. It was one of the most vapid conversations I've ever seen in my entire life, and Gaga was also part of the problem, but there was a look in her eyes and you knew she was never going to do it. Even though she had just told her Stars is Blind was a great pop album. TheARTPOPball 839
I think they send her team a message via their team and they simply don't answer or she says something super nice in gaga fashion like “the song us too good on its own and i have nothing to add to it”

PartySick 162,514
Through her team. She only works with artists she wants to work with. And that generally means sitting down with them, writing, and composing together. You notice she always has a story of her time working with people? It's 'cause she's not the type to get asked and send in a verse to slap on a song. She's an artist, not a product You're stinky
