SevenWonder 4,277
Great first week numbers. And the album has already sold, what, 3 million WW copies? Critical and chart smash. A feel good week for Gaga for sure. Edited March 16 by SevenWonder
River 113,849
Just shut up and take the win #1 in the first week in the streaming era means nothing, it's irrelevant, the goal is longevity and cultural impact, anything else is a bonus. In any case, other fanbases will call it a flop, so why should we even care. Come on and wrap that blade of grass around my hairy ass 2
RochestrMonstr 2,971
What other woman in her upper 30’s besides Taylor or Adele could get these numbers in 2025? This is amazing. Gaga isn’t going to get numbers like current pop girls, and 200k is great for a legacy act.

Several times it's stated that this is the biggest album sales in over 6 months, that the actual sales vs streaming split gave her various career bests, she is having a resurgence in popularity and the record has critical acclaim. If youre hoping for massively frontloaded sales followed by a huge drop off, I get your point, but what does that do for the album's legs besides stop it dead in its tracks? Or are you just of a generally negative outlook? Genuinely curious. Answer me this? Do you really think sales-wise, Mayhem will not drop down? Consecutive weeks at #1 isn’t viable, literally the following week Playboy Carti will displace her (although he’ll fall off faster than her). I dont have a “negative” outlook generally speaking. I like to look at things from a business perspective because I study music marketing lol. If I think of the costs the rollout had, and the amount of effort they require, you would expect a bit more than 219k. Even if most of that budget will always be recovered from touring and not sales. But fine, since apparently having a critical pov is not a cute look for me, i’ll keep it to myself then. Not trying to spoil anyones experience. In fact, I’ll over compensate even and say that the rollout and promo for Mayhem has been absolutely impecable, and everything that is lined up will keep things exciting. Mayhem is also holding better than Chromatica in terms of streams. It charted 6 more album tracks too, and Gaga’s overall health as a brand is better. The amount of critics praise was WAY more than we could have ever hopped for, and the narrative will still be that it is a #1 album. Plus Gaga seems so much happier and that makes the music resonate harder. Truly a moment to be a fan There’s absolute highlights too, and I can see them. Its just that doesnt mean the highlighys blind me from the few lowlight there are. If that makes me a hater then, I dont know what to tell you 🤷🏼♂️. The goal was longevity, it's clearly what the goal is.

Nicki Minaj out****ingsold Lady Gaga, Never stop clocking them pop girls who can’t keep up with you! Mayhem is now cancelled and we’re all ready for Pink Friday 3.

Longevity is the goal always yes, but Gaga doesn't always have the means for that. We cant compare TFM to today, very different era and time. I do think the album as a body of work has better hold than its singles alone (poor Abra ) Playboi Carti will take to top spot next week. Will Mayhem repeak? maybe cause rappers tend to fall off quickly. I can see it staying in the top 10 for several weeks, but if fans are expecting it to rebounce back to #1 and stay there for another 4-5 weeks…IdK i wouldn’t be so confident about that. But as long as it doesnt free fall I think its great. EDIT: Coachella weekends could boost it to #1 for sure Edited March 16 by andy232000

They usually do good with predictions but as soon as its Gaga, they miss. HDD had 223k. That's a miss by less than 5k?
