It is described as scripted film, so it will be mostly real with some altered stuffs added, much like Freddy movie was. His chart run was impressive similar to other huge icons of the 00's such as Eminem, Britney, Black Eyed Peas, Pink etc. It's kinda weird that his biopic is flopping hard in Europe and especially in his home country, UK The monkey idea maybe was not right but I'm willing to see it because I'm kinda into the biopic films he fell out super hard, he has been flopping for 13 years already, but yes he was huge in the early 2000. Idk why they keep doing bizarre biopic projects? A regular biopic speaks to an audience that wants to see the story of a widely believed artist on screen. Why would they wanna see that told in legos? Or a talking monkey? It makes no sense and seems like a gimmick + it isn’t going to get larger audiences either who *really don’t care. In general biopics needs to cool down bc they’re getting to be poorly made slop like Netflix documentaries

It is actually such a great film and probably the most interesting biopic in recent years. But people assume it’s trash. Well no people don’t know what it’s about from the trailer lmao bc America doesn’t know who he is. The trailer is super super vague imo
compassionhills 66
people are shitting on the monkey idea but i actually think its the only reason the film made over $1m. think about it, its a biopic about someone whos only really big in the uk and other parts of europe. i dont think anybody wouldve cared enough to watch it unless it had a gimmick, and the monkey thing got people talking and wondering why he was portrayed that way. im not sure how many people wouldve cared if it was just a human actor the whole way through. CaptainAmerica 35
Been a fan of Robbie for dacedes. Saw the movie a couple of days ago and absolutely loved it. I think the monkey aspect was really well made, and fantasy scenes were spectacular. There’s a particular scene that justifies the whole monkey thing, and for me it worked. Sad more people aren’t giving it a chance. I do believe it was completely an issue of having terrible marketing. The movie is funny, has heart and is full of wonder. I might be biased as a RW fan, but I really think there’s so much more to take from this movie than what people are assuming.
Plastic Flower 4,128
I don’t think people even care about him to watch a biopic. Monkey or not. Drop it

He’s seeing himself as this less developed show monkey, he hates himself and the whole movie he struggles with that. He’s super honest about it all, and it’s so well made. Also, not everyone gets the British self irony humor part. There’s not a dull moment and lots of laughs and teary eyed moments.
jjkibum 18
Only an egomaniac like Robbie Williams would think a biopic of his life would garner enough interest to break even a $100+ million budget. Chopped.

Like, he’s going crazy and he looks it as he’s an ape.

lilboyblue 4,260
I'm a Robbie Williams fan and I think him using a chimp to portray himself is quite ingenious, and very much on brand! Like seriously, that's just how his personality is. And we already got the docu-series bio anyway, if seeing him tell his own story is your thing. I do feel maybe they overestimated how familiar people are with Robbie in 2025. Marketing failed here.
