Nintendo really should have announced in Fall 2024 when they had the chance. They’ve completely lost control of the narrative at this point. 
 

Also, it feels so strange that there are major titles dropping for Switch 1 post-Switch 2 release (Pokemon, Prime 4). They better have an absolutely KILLER Switch 2 exclusive or no one will buy it this year.

I think they didn’t announced it back then was because they wanna do one last push of Gen 1 switch for 2024 holiday season, the switch always sells like hot cakes during the holidays so I wouldn’t be surprised if Nintendo was clearing backlog of Gen 1 switch stocks before announcing the successor, I’m still annoyed though, both Gaga and Nintendo edging me I’m sick of it  😭

the reason for the delay is sales and holiday seasons, they wanted to maximize the last possibility to sell the switch.

To be fair, the only people aware of leaks are gamers who only make up a part of their overall audience, and who are likely to buy the console anyway once decent titles get announced. Nintendo's mass audience (families with young children) aren't keeping up with leaks.

I believe Legends ZA will have a double release with better graphics and loading times on the switch 2, maybe even a specific gimmick that only works with the switch 2.

Okay but if it is April 3rd and not a placeholder date then they need to announce it soon? 3 months is usually a good amount of time for marketing, not just for the new console but for launch title games as well? And we’re already less than that. People need time to get the money together, decide if they want it etc. idk, feels short to me but I’m still hyped.
