Lady Gaga talks LG7, Coachella and confirms DWAS and Gesaffelstein on the album

It's like when she added Telephone to the Fame Monster.  It didn't fit with the album's theme, but how can anyone pass up the buzz of Beyoncé featured on an album?  In this case, Bruno has the midas touch to success lately.

In life, one has to be willing to compromise with millions of others who want something else.  It is what it is.

I don't mind it being on the album, it's a great song, hopefully one of many. And we already knew there were different genres on the album, so if you were looking for cohesiveness you were probably looking in the wrong place.

But it was a standalone project for four months and now all of a sudden it's the missing piece ? Yeah.

That even makes it worse to me imo

It's like she just wanted a successful single but anyway

*her label, not her lol

I'm surprised most of you think that she has final say in this hahaha

The album might be too experimental and Interscope just wants a hit on the album. Gaga gets her experimental album and Interscope gets their smash hit on that album. That's it!

Since she said it’s chaotic with different genres, here is how I imagine the track list to be:

1. DWAS

2. Girlfriend for The Weeknd

3. Disease

4. Zombie Bride

5. Abracadabra

6. Disease (The Antidote)

7. Notorious Being

8. Disease (Poison)

"Is the song connected to whatever’s happening on LG7?

Absolutely. “Die With a Smile” is on my record — it’s a huge part of my album. It was like this missing piece. The record is full of my love of music — so many different genres, so many different styles, so many different dreams. It leaps around genre in a way that’s almost corrupt. And it ends with love. That’s the answer to all the chaos in my life is that I find peace with love. Every song that I wrote, I just kept getting kind of swept away in these different dreams I was having about the past — almost like a recollection of all these bad decisions that I made in my life. But it ends in this very happy place."

Well that's just diminished my hype for LG7. DWAS and Disease sound nothing alike so the album isn't gonna be cohesive at all, I understand from a business point of view DWAS being such a success it's good for the album's streaming numbers etc. but yeah this is a mess.

How is it any different than speechless being on TFM? Or You and I being on BTW? Cohesive albums are so boring and lack replay value.

If it was only bipolar... Multipolar for sure:

- The ones thinking we are in a LG5 situation where the whole thing was scrapped. LOL

- The ones thinking she lost artistic integrity by adding the song. LOL

- The ones thinking it's surprising because of her words a few weeks ago (changed because an obvious commercial decision). Nothing else. Me included here so no LOL

- The ones angry at the people who think the above. LOL

Sure there's more but I am tired of typing. Loving how we are starting already the CHAOS era :ladyhaha:

Fans already staying true to the chaos nature of the album :ladyhaha:

monsters are so thoughtful :ladyhaha:

I'm just giving credit where credit is due :ladyhaha:

Well not to defend the decision maker here whoever it is as I'm on the artistry camp and I do think ultimately this move might not have the best outcome retrospectively, but I actually think that was gaga's decision here and I think she just fell inlove with the song overtime and decided to include it on the tracklisting after her and label initially saying this is a standalone single.

To me personally her work ever since inception has always came off layered with a sense of undecidedness and I can relate to that honestly as per the rolling stone sitdown we know she and company rework and remix a lot material all the time and to a point I think that's what make her recent work feel a little bit too polished in a way so anyway yeah I think she made that decision not for the bling but she just changed her mind on what could the tracklisting mean and feel which kinda invalidates the whole notion this record is confidently her and how she's finally confident in her sound as the move ultimately reads as cheap and unconfident so I'm inclined to think that it's a bad move artistically but hey I haven't listened to album so it remains to be seen.

To a  certain extent yes. The thing Is the whole dwas deal from the get go was odd. Its pubblished under Interscope, Gaga Is the First name in the credits, Shes the One doing Most of the promo.

But bruno sings much more and it sounds One of like his songs. This was MOST likely all discussed back in august. The potential for It becoming a hit was obvious. And her album seems very difficult to sell. Im sure this was all part of a deal tò ensure sucess.

But She does seem very in love with the theme. And honestly She Tries yo Hide It but Shes more insecure than ever. The more appearances She does, the more It Is evident. In that im very inclined tò believe your point

LOVEDRUG

I mean I don't like this decision and plenty of people here have articulated why. She can say that Die With A Smile was included to 'tie the album together', but I find it hard to believe that anybody finds that to be a believable argument. It's a textbook industry tactic. It's like putting your album on sale for $1 and saying it's because of your 'artistic vision'. I don't care if she does it, but I don't like the fact that she's trying to make this out to not be a cash grab, and would rather she just said 'it was more popular than we expected it to be, so decided to include it later' than going on about how 'it always meant to be on the album'.

I don't know, I guess I'm just annoyed that she finally seems to be trying a completely new sound for the first time since ARTPOP, and we're still going to end up with the same old Adult Contemporary ballads tacked on to the end of the album. Die With A Smile isn't bad by any means, but it's hardly new turf for her.

Spoiler

And quite frankly it makes me laugh to see the same people who constantly drag Taylor Swift for being 'money hungry' and 'exploitative' defend this move like their life depends on it. This is no different to the 10 variants, or the bonus tracks, or the voice memos.
