I did not like the movie but still think everyone knows she's great in the movie, even the people who hated it. even the most dedicated ogh can't deny she was the best part of the movie, and most people agree that the movie would be much better if she had more screentime. She walked away from this movie with her chin up. The melody that you choose can rescue you

I've listened and read nonstop horrible reviews. If John Waters and I were the only 2 people in the world that liked it......I'd be ok with that. I feel validated. Hideo Kojima also praised it and said it will be those "flop-turned-classic" type of situation 3 1

It's almost universally recognized by critics that Lady Gaga's main problem was being underused, and had she appeared more the movie could've been better off that alone. They're just incels who want someone to blame tbh. Ignore them I'll be myself until they fūcking close the coffin.
Reject False Icons 4,717
This will sound psychotic but I have a theory that many movies, albums, and important events in general that leave a big influence or become very popular in subsequent years were released in years ending in 4 like 2014,2004,1994 and probably JFAD might be one of those things from 2024 1

Oriane 20,082
Beyond the movie's quality (which I personally find amazing), I think people are not ready for its message in the current political climate. What's going on is more along the first movie's scenario. I'm hoping that when things improve, people can look back at FAD and appreciate everything about it. monketsharona 64,992
I just feel like studio, producers, actors and director should have totally sold it as a musical since the start (instead of saying 'it's not a musical, music is just important'); Things would have gone better for Joker in both reviews and and audience opinion. It's a 100% bet that DC fans would have not bought tickets or even watch it, but on the other end I feel like target would have been different. Studio need to stop being ashamed of the musicals they produce. Wicked is the proof people can enjoy musicals when they are actually sold as it. Just my opinion. Lady Gaga should move on from musicals though.

AddMeOnMYSPACE 1,932
I can definitely see this film becoming a cult classic. It’s really not that bad, comic fans have always been weirdos
monketsharona 64,992
I could also see people enjoying it a lot more in few years tbh Edited December 7, 2024 by monketsharona
princedeeblebleble 915
Honestly it's not as terrible as they say, but also it's not really gr8 either as many hardcore Monsters would like to belive. But art is subjective, however objectively they could have done more with the budget they had.
RAMROD 106,084
He included it on his best movies of 2024: https://www.vulture.com/article/john-waters-best-movies-of-2024.html And in the new interview with Paper Magazine, he tells us why: Q: And I saw you just released your annual favorite movies of the year list on Vulture, and there were a lot of headlines surprised that you put Joker 2 on it. A: I don't know why. If you see the movie, it's great, well-developed. It's just that people don't understand that they sing showtunes. I absolutely loved it, and I stupidly believed the critics, although I like that film director a lot. So actually, it's the only movie I ever in my life watched in a hotel room. I didn't even know how to do that. It was $31. It was a las- minute thing because I had a nagging feeling that this movie’s gonna be good. That director makes great movies, I like all his movies. The critics were wrong on that one, as far as I’m concerned. I thought it was wonderful. I read later that Quentin Tarantino really liked it, too, so it definitely has its followers, but I think we’re a little too late to help with it. https://www.papermag.com/john-waters-seth-bogart#rebelltitem5 To the uncultured, he is known to cinephile for directing cult movies such as Pink Flamingos, Hairspray, Female Trouble, among others.
