GoldenPonyboy 2,273
The original Alien is a near perfect film to me. So influential (enven tho i didnt find it so scary). Same with the Silence of the Lambs. Great influential film but not so scary to me. i quite liked the Conjuring, probably the best possession movie in recent memory. Either that or insidious. the original Strangers is also cery good. Always thought it was misunderstood when it came out but it seems like its getting more praises now. I quite liked all 3 Jordan Peel movies, def. One of my favorite directors now. But Get out left such a long lasting impression. dont know if it counts as horror, but Parasite is defenitly up there in terms of of psychological thrillers/horror. In the same vein, i would add promissing young woman.

I guess my favorite franchise and the one that made me a fan of horror movies is Scream. Some other old classics like Child's Play (1, 2, 3 & Bride), Nightmare on Elm Street (1 & 3), Halloween franchise, Alien franchise, Friday the 13th are always a nice watch. The Exorcist, The Shining, It, Misery, Poltergeist, The Others, Sixth Sense, Texas Chainsaw. One of my all time favorites and the one that gave me nightmares as a child was Guillermo Del Toro's The Devil Backbone. Another oldie that is very underrated called The Changeling. Recent stuff I'd say Saw, Conjuring 1 & 2, Insidious, Sinister, Invisible Man, Suspiria (new and old), The Ring. I've been impressed by some new stuff like Hereditary, Babadook, Possessor, Barbarian. There's so many I need to think more but will keep coming back here. I forgot about Babadook it is sooo good, but the scene in car when everyone screams almost ruins it for me idk why. Makes the movie looks low budget.

PMM 3,042
insidious + insidious 2 - great duo pack 10/10 the conjuring - i think my fav from horror genre silent hill - because i love the game and they did good the orphanage - just because it was different and very interesting babadook - great metaphor paranormal activity 3 - bad horror but i like it sinister - because it's scary blair witch project - more of a terror than horror midsommar, hereditary and run are classics overall not only in horror genre I Am a Joke
