I think not dropping physical copies and the music video on the same night as the single was a huge mistake on their part. Gaga is barely doing any promo for the song except for a few tweets and TikTok reposts.

I'm kind of interested to see what their plan is.

Spoiler

if there is one :huntyga:

If you have some rad remixes you made laying around, send it to me!!

Don’t worry everyone. I have not stopped playing it on Apple Music. I alone will bring her chat success when those numbers are included. Join me. Put that thing on repeat.
Didn’t we used to do that stuff during ARTPOP era?

Im screaming like I want to die because my neck and back are out (constant head banging, dancing) but it’s worth it.

I soldier on!

the GPs not here for her pop stuff clearly

they only care about DWAS/shallow type of music from gaga. this songs for the fans not for the masses. also do not get why the music video wasnt released....

I think it’s definitely the fans too, a drop like this can’t be just from the GP, as you said previously yourself, most did the bulk of streaming yesterday and the GP and casual fans haven’t tuned in yet. So it’s either they are bad at streaming and not doing their part or a lot of them lied about liking the song because all over twitter there’s only praise with most lackluster opinions that I’ve seen being on this site. So if they want a hit they better stream it. I’m a kpop fan and I can tell you, smaller but united fanbases get kpop acts great streams and views too, not just the bigger ones. We just need to be consisted and devoted.

Yes... but u cant realistically expect that all fans are gonna keep listening 20 times a day. Especially considering a lot of fans are not hard core GGD fans (what are we like? 300 active users maybe? 400? We make like no different u know :toofunny:)

By fans im also including more casual fans who follow her and maybe listened to the song a few times on release day but wont keep doing so obsessively

GGD does not equal the entire spectrum of her fan base and I dont think ppl here are the problem. It seems clear everyone here loves it and has been replaying constantly

More casual fan listens will inevitably drop a fair bit and hardcore fans (which exist in smaller numbers) are not gonna compensate for that. The GP needs to buy into it too

Flat out untrue. Outside of DWAS, ARUTW, and Shallow, all of her songs crossing 500,000+ daily streams for the past half decade have been mostly electronic pop songs, Judas being one of the biggest examples of this. And it’s not just a Halloween seasonal thing, there has been a genuine interest in her darker backlog for a while now. The idea that it’s just ballads that people are interested in is a lie.

A fall is expected for the day after debut, right? I mean many people streamed the song just out of curiosity but they’re not Gaga stans or even casual listeners

I think the video is going to boost the streams so it can get back on top10, since it’s going to be Halloween themed. The music itself doesn’t scream Halloween so much, despite the dark lyrics so maybe the visuals are gonna make it click for the GP

And I'd like to add that Idk what people are reading on Twitter but the song apparently is still performing well for first weekend with minimal activity from her team.

These types of releases should be an exercise in patience for a lot of people reading these threads. Everything is happening the way it's supposed to for a reason.

I think the plan was:

a) release the song to build the hype

b) let it get some streams in

c) as soon as the numbers start to go down (possibly tomorrow or tuesday), release the music video which seems to have the perfect vibes for Halloween week

Don’t streams always fall on the weekends or something?  I  feel I have read people comment about this before but maybe I’m wrong.

its funny seeing yall come up with excuses lol

theres a reason DWAS, shallow and ARUTW are the biggest hits shes had the last 10 years. the ones with longevity and the ones charting the highest cuz the GP is more interested in her vocal ability than the weird pop gaga she started out as

i like disease but lets be for real here, its not mainstream smash single material - its not radio friendly and its clearly a song geared towards us stans.

As she should. Mama's probably relaxing at home and enjoying her life knowing she pretty much earned her success and that there's no rush anymore to have another #1 hit

And yet her last two ballads (Happy Mistake and Hold My Hand) bombed harder than Stupid Love. It’s not all about genre and sound.

Steaming is a much stronger metric to gauge success than billboard chart positions and well…the numbers don’t lie. There is a sizable amount of listeners interested in her electronic stuff too but it’s very clear this drop and go method her team has been co-opting for a while now does no good for her.

I’m going to be honest, I am not a fan of the song. I’m telling you, Gaga needs to go back to what made her popular and loved in the first place and that is straight pop music.she seems to switch genres constantly and it just doesn’t work.  How do you go from jazz to now 90s pop grunge in the span of 1 month. I will always support her, I just wish she would go back to the retro pop sounds that we all love.

If you cant keep up... maybe you stan the wrong artist. Apply your advice to your own life love... dont limit the artist.
