That seems to be her comfort zone. agreed. that's why I never got on board with it when people were like "oh she's the new Gaga!"

This is a wild statement. If she is a public figure and decides to make statements about whatever topic (and especially politics) she can’t expect the public not to react. If she can’t handle backlash or the amount of attention/demand she is getting she needs to step back and re-evaluate her career choices and seek counseling for mental health etc. WE are not responsible for HER ACTIONS. People need to learn to take accountability. 13

FATCAT 58,014
She needs to stop speaking on topics that she clearly doesn’t know much about. That would clear up a lot of the stress. Purr more, hiss less.
monstertoronto 8,654
She’s been completely transparent about her reactions to fame, telling concert audiences when she felt off, her tiktoks about boundaries, revealing she was diagnosed with severe depresssion recently. This announcement isn’t coming out of the blue. It’s also probably not simply a direct reaction to the political quagmire she has found herself in either. Its cumulative. She revealed she has severe depression just before the political stuff blew up. Obviously that was going to exacerbate her already poor mental health condition. It’s frustrating for fans but she’s a human who has repeatedly let us know she’s not doing well. Let’s give her some grace and understanding and not just expect singers who become famous to swallow their emotions and become like robots, or expect them to perform like seals on command. Luv u Sum 2,249
if she wants to be so open on the internet and tell people to shut the **** up on red carpets and call the left "transphobic" then she needs to be able to handle whatever response comes with it. 4 1

Obobo 2,472
Makes me appreciate how much Gaga fought for her fame when she started out. She kept rolling out singles, music videos, interviews and performances and pushed awwnnn! …meanwhile Chappell got like two songs and 1000 controversies about her whining. 1
JazzGa 14,402
You can give your fans a hundred snubs Release another song, try to stop the feeling You can say you just like playing clubs Make a new excuse, another stupid reason Get well, babe (well, get well), well, get well, babe (well, get well) I've taken a few dips in the lady pond
Matt 404
The fame really isn't for her, and that's ok. Seeing how so many new artists handle fame really makes me realize what a master of being famous Gaga is. She really is a once in a generation artist, but of course we knew that already.
NCgaga 4,259
She is very talented- but I feel she isn’t ready for this. You have to have a tough skin with the ability shield criticism. She has a history of mental issues that she has publically shared with us. Those need to be her priority as well as the music. Then, when she is ready, she can tour. Adele did this on a different level. When she first came out she suffered from severe anxiety and stage fright. It took her years of work, therapy, etc to get to a spot where she could tour. She made albums and music(her passion) and kept a relatively low profile until she got to a comfortable place. Chapell needs to do the same.
andy232000 9,651
Everyone in the world feels overwhelmed, we all push through one way or another. She’s not cut out for this industry, almost no one is; and while I support her wanting to get better, I feel she really does not seem to actually want to get better. The moment she became huge she’s been showing industrial amounts of disdain and repulsion for her own job. I dont think any amount of therapy will make her love this enough to keep doing it in the long run, so I think all these “prioritizing my mental health” is her actually just chosing to stop being a Pop Star cause she truly hates it, not a moment to retreat and gather herself and try again. when you love something you do it. And if you have to try over and over and gather yourself multiple times you do it while at the same time doing your best to follow through with that job. There’s moments where you gotta work, and then there’s moments where you can regulate yourself. She’s lucky she is a wealthy pop star with resources to get the help needed to make this sustainable, and should be done without missing work; use that privilege to your favor instead of crying all the long day and cancelling shows left and right. Get a better team too if you can. Mental health is important, and people who respect their work and wellbeing will willingly do what its in their power to keep a balance between the two Edited September 27 by andy232000 1 2
Bronco 4,483
A woman in the spotlight who is very open about their mental health difficulties pulls out of an event to focus on their personal health. And what does this site do? Line up to talk about all the reasons they dislike her and call her names. Some of y'all would have been part of the vultures circling around Britney in 2007/8 and yet were on this site recently preaching #FreeBritney and shaming anyone who ever did the exact **** you're doing. 7
