What's new? I'd say 70% of this fanbase doesn't care about Gaga's jazz projects and cries when they hear a guitar. I'm not expecting big numbers for Harlequin, and you all shouldn't either. Anyway, I hope Gaga's team pushes Happy Mistake because it sounds like a classic.

Let me quote myself because 😭

Real Panda

The fact that this album would debut less than Love For Sale in the US (41,000) is making me so sad and could even be worse than The Fame's first week which was 24,000.

It's not the same case with LFS!

It's a side project, with no physical release outside of her online shop ! LFS had many variants available in every store! If Harlequin had a normal release, then it would debut easily in top 5!

Guys there's very few people outside this fanbase that will listen to an accompanying album when the movie isn't even out yet. Especially with barely any drum roll or promotion.

Even people in the fanbase won't listen cuz it's not pop and mostly jazz covers and some fans dont consider it a Gaga album.

The numbers are pretty expected to me . This album isn't meant to be a hit cuz it would definitely clash with the lead single also coming this month.

The movie is already out in many countries, I already watched at the Cinema 10 hrs ago.

I cant believe people are seriously complaining about this album, im a huge Gaga fan but i havent heard the album completely, just a few 3-4 songs tbh and the rest of the songs like only the first 20 seconds of each one, am i a bad fan for that? Well idk, she is my favorite artist and i love her so much, but Jazz isnt my type of music, i didnt even heard Love for Sale to be totally honest. I did heard Cheek to Cheek cuz i was coming from the huge ARTPOP mess so for sure i was curious about and i actually enjoyed a lot of songs on Cheek to Cheek, but i cant say the same to L4S or Harlequin, Jazz isnt a mainstream genre so people complaining about the album not doing well are just dumb...like i dont know what else are u guys expecting for an album full of Jazz covers, be so for real

I totally agree. No serious person is complaining. I think it's just a few complainers.

I have no interest in the album either except for a few songs (HM, Smile, Joker). But I love that it exists because she clearly loves it. I also think it is VERY well made and produced. But it's just not for me and that's okay. It wasn't made for me. But I can see so many other fans absolutely loving it and that's fantastic. I can listen to BTW, Chromatica or ASIB for my daily Gaga fix.

Now LG7? That better be made for me! haha.

You both are seriously missing out. World on a string, Folie A Deux, and Close to you are some of the best tracks on the album from vocals, lyrics and production. These three have been playing in my head non-stop. The Joker, HM, and Smile are just appetizers to the meat of the album so to speak. I say that as someone that wasn’t all that into her Tony Bennet albums but this album has been on repeat. Its phenomenal.

The movie is only starting, it's only premiering tonight in my country, and the GP moves slowly. And the music on the album is genuinely good. I'd understand the meltdown if it was bad but her vocals and the productions are absolutely beautiful. I listened to it three times yesterday while I painted my dining room so my neighbors got to have a good time too :ally:

I think the only movie where I walked out and bugged my sister to drive me right to the mall to buy the soundtrack was Josie and the Pussycats in 2001 :messga:

Sadly the gp reception i’ve perceive isnt great, let’s just not create expectations and let it flow as it will, whatever happens, that’s fine.

Yeah that's what I meant with it still being a beautiful album. Even if the gp doesn't end up getting into it, that doesn't mean it's not good.

Let's not expect too much, but let's not be pessimistic as well! There's so much good we've gotten from this era and we should focus on those. :kara:

Most importantly, our muse has been in her best state of health (mentally, emotionally and physically) in YEARS, not to mention one of her most prolific streaks artistically, and that's something worth celebrating!
