No that's its own mental illness and not excusable in the slightest.

There have been so many articles lately adulating Marvel for casting Robert Downey Jr. in Iron Man despite a troubled reputation and fears he would be uninsurable/tank the production. If Ezra really had a mental health crisis and is getting treatment, it seems a second chance is worth applauding, or at least not actively seeking to damage. If not, what benefit is there to rehabilitation?
