RaraBitch 527
queer people are living their best life in the west and most of europe. when will it finally be our turn here in the middle east? this is the dark side of religion and taboo culture nobody wants to talk about. i'm not seeing any improvements, and if we do get any rights or awareness miraculously, it's classic one-step-forward-two-steps-back. she deserved so much better. what's extra sad is the fact that she has LEFT her country to live somewhere else more accepting, only to be dragged back. meanwhile every discussion with a homophobe is "respect our country's values and leave if you don't like it". there's really no peace for us huh? When theocracy is finally taken down. It doesn't help that most of the Middle East is not democratic, people are not represented by their government and that's sad (for context , Israel, while being a deeply flawed democracy, is the safest place in ME for LGBTQ+ people law wise) . Even then, no place is fully safe... look at what religious extremists and conservatives are doing with US laws right now, religion should be removed from politics everywhere and people should then keep it out by not voting them back in. Edited March 16 by Lukas96
