As I mentioned during my 2021 list, that was the last time I was ever going to make a list of the worst music as well. I'm over the whole masochism thing of trying to listen to everyone and purposely seeking out the bad stuff so the good stuff can sound better. And it was also extremely time-consuming and it was a relief to only listen to music I was interested in this past year. And I'm trying to be as much about positivity now. Listening to music was so much less stressful because of it and it made making this list much more enjoyable. As usual, expect an eclectic mix, usually side-by-side. I've extended my list of top 10 best album tracks of the year to 20 as I think it opens up so many more deserving artists. And I'm still carrying out my concept of personal music awards. I hope no one misses my worst of lists! My opinion is just that and my rankings are actually a lot closer than it looks, it's really hard to rank when we reach the top 20, for example, and most tracks are roughly the same score. I've dropped specific scores for albums as well as it seems obvious where they land based on ranking (and also because not all of them are even ranked all that highly as this wasn't really the best year)! My taste won't be everyone's cup of tea but music lists is what I love to do and it's my list, my rules, so here it is and feel free to list your own.
