In a previously non-publicized lawsuit, Sir-Mix-A-Lot had sued Nicki Minaj for the unauthorized sample of their song "Baby Got Back" in her 2014 hit "Anaconda".

Today, Nicki accepted her defeat and settled the case out of court: as compensation for the unauthorized sample, she handed over her royalty rights to Sir-Mix-A-Lot, meaning that she cannot make any further money from the song being downloaded, streamed, used on TV or performance.
