I just don't think he quite had the comedy chops that the gig required. Plus, it's always a bit weird when someone who isn't American tries to make fun of American culture. It's just a little off. Like, they almost get it. But not quite. Feel the same way about John Oliver. Comedy is strange like that for me. I wish, way back in the day, that Jessica Williams had landed the gig. He says things sometimes he just has no idea. Then says French culture of saying « France won » instead of «Africa won » is toxic. Oh yeah really?
