I have no problem with paying for 2 streaming platforms but the problem is that they are all slowly losing content due to new streaming platforms emerging offering their exclusive shows. Like, I am afraid that the future of streaming is heading towards an increase to the quantity of platforms rather than the content on the actual services.

Netflix is one dimensional, for 2 years they only released superhero tv shows, canceled all of them but one lol

I only subbed for Marvel shows, cancelled my membership last night and will just watch them in 4K on the open sea from now on.

Also cancelled Netflix last month, £11 for HD is beyond a joke.

Very clever of them to make the change like this. They debuted as one of the best-valued streaming services and got everyone onboard and now instead of introducing a cheaper alternative with ads they're pretty much forcing people to go for the more expensive one without them. Touché.

True. They are gaining subscribers whereas netflix lost them. Interesting to see how their subs numbers will be after this new pricing in effect

I don't think they have a push to do it though. Each brand gets a somewhat individual identity while charging separately. Also keeping it separate allows for the separation of content dev. If they were all Star+ it would be "I pay x amount of money and they only ever develop the Disney side even though I primarily pay for the Hulu side"
