the thing is is that companies like Disney choose digital studios over hand drawn studios because many digital studios are outsourced and not unionized; this allows them to overwork and underpay digital studios 

it's why their Marvel movies are all done on green screen because they can have a CGI studio fill in the blanks instead of properly compensating background, set, and costume designers 

That’s part of what I meant by cheaper just didn’t feel like typing it all out so totes agree hahahaha Disney, I imagine, hated its animators since they were pretty active unionists

Lilo was a successful movie, but overtime it seems to have fallen in the underrated category, probably due to CGI being overexposed and other Disney films failing in the 2000s.
