The fact that HOG got 13 longlist nominations proves that the movie was immensely popular with the BAFTA members. Not to mention the fact that it was also a super hit in the UK. Gaga has a real chance of making the top 2 now.

Thank you for explaining. It seems strange to me that these award panels always have special committees that decide the outcome rather than just letting the amount of votes determine the outcome, same with the Grammys.

Wouldn't it be unfair to those who received votes within the top 5 but got neglected by the jury?
