Oh that's horrible! What a dreadful side-effect, and even worse so because god-knows the media will simultaneously drag her for "losing" her looks whilst also shaming her for trying to maintain them. I don't envy anyone in the public eye. Even though we revere it so much in our culture, I think it's a dreadful way to live (psychologically speaking, of course it usually means financial stability and material wealth which is obviously a very privileged way to live.)

In a way I kind of pity celebrities whose work and success is built on the way they look, because at some point those looks will fade. Most regular people fear getting older; aging publicly when so much of your identity and your income is tied to your physical appearance must be a mind-f***, and is quite brave in a world that puts SO much value on external beauty. But hopefully we'll get to a place in our culture where we don't put so much stock in appearance and/or our beauty standards change. Maybe Linda will play a small part in that by sharing this story and hopefully gaining the confidence to start living her life fully again.

I think society needs to stop associating financial status as an automatic measure of how good ones life is overall across the board

Its gotten to the point that if ur seen as priveledged in one aspect especially in financial status its like it somehow cancels out or invalidates all ur other struggles in life that arent related to money at all

Yes not having to stress about bills is awesome but theres a lot more to life than that. Just because someone is wealthier than most doesnt mean their life cant be a mess for other reasons

I have some borderline rich family (definitely very high upper middle class) and a few friends in that class as well and while that particular aspect of their life gets me jelous, some of them I would not trade my lives with. Whether it be health problems money wont solve, or abuse that left them mentaly unstable etc...

Money doesnt always automatically mean great life. Money does help enhance life in many aspects and solve SOME problems absolutely

  • Teletubby changed the title to Linda Evangelista sues for 50M over disfiguring cosmetic procedure
Teletubby

She filled a $50milllion lawsuit at a New York federal court against Zeltiq for negligence, misleading advertising and alleging that the company failed to warn customers of the possible side effects.

The lawsuit says Linda Evangelista underwent multiple procedures between 2015 and 2016 to reduce fat on her thighs, abdomen, back, flanks and chin. Corrective surgery had not worked to fix the PAH.

She is seeking $50 million in damages for lost income and emotional distress, saying she was now unemployable as a model and has not earned anything from modeling since 2016.

Is she the one who inspired the House of Evangelista in Pose?

Yes. One of the original supermodels.

Gorgeous woman any size. She should be modeling regardless.

This is very scary bc I have researched this procedure on my own prior to this and most resources say it is completely safe. I have had a procedure done (very minor) that uses similar technology except it’s fat burning rather than freezing, and after 2 sessions I stopped going because I was experiencing pain and discomfort (youre supposed to have 6-8 procedures done for full effect). Goes to show many services in the cosmetic industry are still not safe and should be considered heavily before spending money on because it’s no joke that these companies and specialists will straight up lie to you and say things are safe to make a sale when they know they’re not
