wouldn't Lorde giving Lana a percentage of the publishing rights be her acknowledging it publicly? I'm perplexed-

But why is Lorde taking the blame instead of the producer? If someone would be actually familiar to Lana's work, it's Jack, not Lorde. Also, I have no idea how the record publishing industry works but how do similarities like these (while debatable in public space to exist at all) get through approval processes? Like, no record label listens to them and say "we've heard this before...??"
